This is the style of guitar playing that I would like to master. I see that he is a master of scales and chord progressions. There's a lot to be learned here.

I just purchased this guitar on Friday, put my preferred strings on it and I'm just blown away by the tone. Of all the reviews of this guitar that I've seen since, this is the best review. I play the same style of music and seeing someone else play what I play so I can hear it from the listener's perspective has been very beneficial.

It sounds fantastic, even an entry level Martin sounds very different to the usual guitars of that range, nice playing by the way!

“I always get carried away with Martins”
Join the club man. Martin guitars are Superbly made.
They play well, sound amazing and just Feel good in your hands and against your body.
Whenever I pick up my DRS1 and start strumming away, I just Cannot put it down.
The ONLY other Brand of guitar that’s made me feel that way is Taylor.

    Very nice job Jarvis
I've had one of these since 2/19 and really like it.
Hard to beat (in my opinion) for the price
and comes with a very nice bag.
Hope you move a lot of them

Hey Jarvis, I've listened to a few other videos of the Martin D10E, but that guitar sounds much better on yours.
For a small guitar, it sounds outstanding! Martin builds most of their guitars with a little magic and from your video,
they sure didn't leave the magic out of that one. You do some fine videos buddy! Your love of music and guitar
shines it all of them. Thanks!

Tom E Muncey Great comments from you and everyone else Tom!!! I did not go to Guitar Center to buy the D10-E Road Series Sapele, in fact they had a used Taylor Acoustic/electric made from Koa that was worth way more than the $1100 as it was in excellent shape. I was making one last swoop of 6-7 rounds of all the guitars and spied this DRS10-E. I could not put it down. Now I wasn't certain about the Taylor. I had them side by side and the determining factor was action and feel on the fretboard!
It was no competition. Martin has the best tone, feel, action. I got my first ever real Martin. ( Had a Sigma once). Maybe I'll get a Taylor or carbon fiber guitar one day, but for the foreseeable future this is the stuff. Best review I can remember. Hearing it played by Harvis is the best testimony.

I must admit, I don't know most of the chords he is playing, obviously this starts out with a G chord, with a lot of hammer on and off, I see Am, D, looks like an Em7 is in there also, I hear this type of music all the time on the radio, but have never figured out exactly how to play it. This video is just as valuable for instruction as well as for promoting Martin guitars. Thanks.

Hi Jarvis, would you recommend the D10E over GS Mini standard? I’m currently looking for my next guitar :)

    • @TheGuitarSpaSingapore

Jerome Yangco only if you want a big tone

    • @dmar3651
      @dmar3651 Před 4 lety +1

      *Taylor GS Mini standard*:
      Top: Solid Sitka Spruce
      BnS: Layered Laminate Sapele
      Neck: Sapele
      Fingerboard/Bridge: Ebony
      Finish: Satin (varnish)
Electronics: none available, but ES-Go Pickup Ready. (available separately)
Bag/Case: Hard Gig-Bag. (Very well protected).
      *Martin D-10 E*:
      Top: Solid Sitka Spruce
      BnS: Solid Sapele
Neck: Select Hardwood (i.e. either Mahogany, Sapele, Maple, Walnut etc, whichever is most In Season. Martin will not use a species that is not in abundance).
Fingerboard/Bridge: FSC Certified Richlite (composite made of recycled paper and resin, dyed black. Has a similar look and feel to Ebony)
      Finish: Satin (varnish)
Electronics: Fishman MX-T (Tone and Volume controls in the soundhole, with a Tuner included)
      Bag/Case: Padded Gig-Bag. (decent protection).
      My recommendation,
      *Martin DRS-2*:
      Top:Solid Sitka Spruce
      BnS: Solid Sapele
      Neck: Select Hardwood
      Fingerboard/Bridge: FSC Certified Richlite
      Finish: Satin
Electronics: Fishman Sonitone (same as MX-T, but no tuner)
Bag/Case: Martin Hard Shell Case (full protection hard case).
The Martin DRS-2 is the guitar that the D-10 E is based on.
The D-10 E has better aesthetics, and a tuner, but it sacrifices the security of a Hard Shell Case in order to keep within the same price point as the old DRS-2 used to be in.
The DRS-2 isn't made anymore (replaced by the D-10 E), But many shops should still have them, if you look around enough.

Hi jarvis, how do you think the d10e tone compares to a bluerudge br160 or br163 which i have also seen you review, as i know the blueridge is higher spec for a similar price. Thanks!

    • @TheGuitarSpaSingapore
      @TheGuitarSpaSingapore  Před 4 lety +2

a Blueridge can't be compared to a martin no matter what they say...the internal built quality of the Blueridge under the spruce is extremely rough...you do get what you pay for..

    • @TheGuitarSpaSingapore
