Collings guitars are superior to Martins in every way. Collings perfected Martin’s designs, and make the instruments one at a time. I would estimate that Martin’s weekly output is Collings annual output.

yamaha all the way , martin craftsmanship has been really bad the last 10 to 15 years , yamaha lot better guitar at a lot better price , coming from a person that owns 3 martin guitars .

It's a real shame that the FS5 has the matt faux wood pick guard, the FS3 all black gloss pick guard is sooo much nicer.

I bought the normal OMJM recently and I already had to get it sent back to Martin for finish issues. Was in its beginning phase of the finish flaking off on the headstock and some already flaked off on the binding. I did play this version of the OMJM in Osaka a couple weeks ago and it had no issues and it was much more beautiful in person. The online photos don't sell it very well.

Martins are an old man guitar plain and simple

I saw people say that the distance between strings (not on fretboard) is smaller than for example on Cort Gold O8 or Martin OM28 or other similar guitars with 44.5mm. Is it true?

ES2 System is the worst which I heard.... (I'm not including cheap crappy stuff here). But I really don't understand, why do they use same ES2 on all their guitars, doesnt matter if its 1xx series for 700$ or 9xx for 6k p.s. I love taylor guitars, but pickup is just the worst ever for such premium segment.

I have the LL-TA which is an LL16 but with the transacoustic effects built in. Its a fantastic sounding guitar with no effects on, but when you switch on the reverb and chorus effects it sounds like magic... The sound comes out if the sound hole without being plugged in...So easy to play with a proper set up. The build quality is perfect and the intonation is perfect, if you play a G chord at the 14th fret youll see! Ive heard the Taylor's and Martins 3 times the price, its just a better Guitar IMO.... Get one...

Not sure what other people are hearing but the Yamaha sounds better than the Martin. It is clearer and more pleasing to the ear and the finish is better. Also it's half the price of the Martin and comes with one of the best pickups on the market. No brainer unless you're a Martin fanboy diehard.

Did you say you were able to lower the action on this Big Baby? Did it affect the sound at all? I’ve never lowered the action on any of my guitars before but I do feel like when I bought it from guitar center, the action was a bit high.

I have a Taylor Big Baby and I agree with you that it doesn’t have a big amount of bass. I think people who like bright and clear treble notes and loud volume will like the Big Baby Taylor more than a Martin at the same price point. I’m absolutely in love with how bright and clear the sound is in my BBT. People who like deeper bass and a warmer tone will like a Martin more. To each his own.

I have the HD28 Adirondack top and it sounds so Amazing. Yes I did make the right choice as you said. I have a 000-18 Martin but I don’t play it as Much as my HD28 power horse!!!

What pick you use?

I bought the FGX5 a couple of weeks ago and I am not too satisfied with the purchase. In comparison to the d-18, the FGX5 has dull high frequencies, espicually at the 6th string. The mids on the FGX5 are more pronounced and the base might also be more present than the d18 but I think the d18 wins the race because of it's more detailed higher frequencies. I am thinking of selling the FGX5 to save up for the d18. Many thanks for the great video!

I’m so amazed by the Deluxe model, I wonder if the LL16M, mahogany version may sound, resonate better than my FGX3. The deluxe sounds louder and has more sustain than my FGX3 for sure.

I have an LL6M A.R.E. and an LS6 as well as an FG830. I love my Yamaha guitars.

Taylor is my choice. To each his own.

I enjoyed the brighter tone of the Collins. I have played Matins all of my life and have never has the pleasure of playing a Collins.

This sounds so much better than the standard 314 plus I love the look. This needs to be a standard model.
