Another great review Jarvis, I love when you review Taylor guitar I'm biased owing a Taylor 214ce KOA but this 814 build quality is on another level. And the tone is so well balanced. Do you have a favourite Taylor every time you pick up you are amazed how good it sounds ?

Great reviews, as usual, Jarvis! However, I like the sound of many of your Yamaha guitars better than this Taylor. Keep up the great work!

Thanks, you have caused me great distraction, you have made me lust after a guitar I will now have to save up to own. I had my heart set on a 414 but this is just so much better sounding. To my ears the 814 just has the best "all around" sound of any guitar in that its sound does not seem out of place with any style or genre of music.

How does this 814ce compare to Yamaha LL 26 in term of tonality as both are in similar price range?

Recently I bought Taylor 914ce Milagro brazilian rosewood v bracing, K24ce v bracing and sold both. The reason is it sounds stuffy not opened like X bracing. anyway, I don't buy Taylor guitar anymore.

I can't get into Taylors made after year 1999.....when they moved to the bolt on system, and then started changing how they build, and continued to make significant changes until they basically make a guitar that feels good, but is just too bright and thin sounding. Just don't fit my preferences but there are a lot of players that enjoy them!

    • @TheGuitarSpaSingapore

well reason. being they have not played a 90s that has the tone that will captivate it
