      I have a 2015 dodge dart sxt. Big mistake. I bought it in 2016. My compressor already went. My battery . the car just stops running. Now after a month my battery light came on and I'm probably looking at electrical or alternator. I hate this car.

      I have a 2013 dart that I only got a few months ago and I'm having issues already, first has been I hearing a clicking sound in the gear shift when I move from park to drive apparently that's a recall, service airbag warning light, another recall... and now on hot days my speedometer is staying at 0 and getting stuck and takes atleast 5 mins driving before it begins to work properly... I really wish I had done my research before I got stuck in this loan on this car 😑😢

    I was having the same issues you had, today. I remember watching your videos before I bought my 2013 dodge dart 1.4 turbo sxt with 28,065 mikes. I looked at my battery and there are fuses. The one in particular was the 200 amp fuse that is one the positive terminal. When I looked it was completely fried. I went to oriellys and the had it for $4.99. Once I replaced it everythi g worked like a dream. Hopefully this helps any one else with this issue.

    The battery is dead because thats what my grandmas dart did when the battery went low. once the battery goes below 10 volts the battery saftey circit kicks on and kills all high draw objects such as the starter, hi beams, AC. This was not a electrical issue.

      @truckn Před 4 lety

      Definitely not the battery at the car eventually starts. I'm no mechanic but my guess would be either you have a loose battery cable on the battery or on the starter. Maybe even an issue with the electronic ignition system.I know it's for years ago you posted this video I'd be interested to know what the issue was because my nephew just bought one of these cars 2013 Dodge dart SXT. With 130000 kilometres and I'm trying to find out how soon does he need to change the timing belt or timing chain it was probably needing to be done at 100000 km.

Took it to my dealership and they told me that I needed a new battery and they replaced it for no cost to me. My dash, radio, and power steering were cutting out. After the new battery it fixed all my problems. These cars are REALLY finicky and do not like the cold or rain.

  • @willywonka969
    @willywonka969 Před 7 lety +6

    I have the same problem and my is a 2014. the reason for it, you need to change your engine oil. It's a feature that darts have built in when the car is need of oil change it would turn off on you and the battery symbol will show. so change your engine oil and your car should work fine like my.

    I had an issue with my Dart. It stalled on me several times when I first bought it. Dealer couldn’t find the problem. After so long I turned in lemon law form. Chrysler rep came out and changed the battery. Started right up no problem and ran alright but I still felt something wasn’t right. Continued driving it for three years and then it wouldn’t start turned the key and nothing happened. Changed the battery now it starts up but still had a check engine light come on later. Coded for lost communication with the power steering module. Reset the computer by disconnecting the battery. I feel I have a problem with the ECU or TCM. Two main modules that run your car. These cars have electrical problems.

These black boxes on top battery from time to time come loose and will drain your battery. They are pain. I wish post a picture here but you can't. Looks like miniature fuse box on top battery terminal on positive side. if it moves means not getting good connection.

    I have had the same issues several times. I thought it was the battery. So I changed my battery twice and always jump my car whenever it happened. I think it is the main problem of dodge. It is frustrating to deal with cuz I don't know when my car can't start for no fucking reason. Now it happened today 🙃 I called the dealer shop and they told me it might be the starter problem. I fixed my break wire recently and the noise from the engine. Paid $1,880 cuz I have no longer warranty on my car.

    If you guys go tot the Dodge Dart forum they will tell you these cars have a lot of ground cable issues. You will see one of the guys acctually bought a bunch of ground straps and added them all over the engine compartment. I have heard on other makes of the ground straps losing contact even down to the straps that conect the wheel sensors. if you remove tires and have a look you will see the wires that conect the front hubs to the uni-frame. The guy on the forum said he noticed a instant response in acceleration and the lights stopped dimming everytime something turned on (fan, A/C ect) I am going to have a quick look around my car to see if I can add ground straps and see if it makes a difference in Voltage. And yes as these cars get on in years you will need a new battery (group 47) available at your local Walmart for cheap under $100 and it takes 10min to install. If they have the value battery in stock these are like $55-60 and last just as long 3-5 years. www.dodge-dart.org/threads/the-dart-bible.26666/ you can search here for other issues as well. GREAT resource

    I have a 2013 Dodge Dart. It's NOT the battery or starter. When it doesn't start, I turn it to START position and put it in neutral then Voila! it starts. But keeps happening. My automatic starter stopped working months ago. Told a mechanic I can get it to start in neutral. He said, then it's not the starter. Now the tire pressure light won't go off no matter how much air I put in it. In addition, it's leaking antifreeze. My husband just called me from Advanced Auto. There's a hole in the hose. I'm taking this back to my mechanic tomorrow. This car wasn't my choice. It sucks. I can't wait to get another ride. To be cont'd...

      ane E my car only have 30000 kms on it. I had the turbo replaced twice. dealer never wanted to do it and said everything was fine. . complained to Chrysler who finally took the car in and change the turbos. welding on my rad melted off and had a new rad put it. head unit was malfunctioning and had to have that replaced. rpms started to rev high when the car was stopped at the light. check engine consistently came on. In the winter the car would not heat at all even when it was on full blast and driving around for 30 mins the car would only get warm. again the dealership said nothing was wrong with it.
      I decided to finally trade this car in after 2.5 years and took a hit on it and bought me a subaru wrx, which has never gave me any issues since I have owened it. Chrysler has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never again purchase a car from them, as well I will never buy an American made car.

      Cory Williams - only the 1.4 turbo is a Fiat engine as well as the 6-speed manual. The 2.0 & 2.4 GME World Engines are produced by Mitsubishi, Chrysler, and Hyundai and used by all three auto makers. The Dart 6-speed automatic transmissions are built by Hyundai- the very same that Hyundai uses in their cars...

    Seriously i own one as my first manual car and really the first car I've ever owned cause of my vision I didn't drive for a while. So naturally I get a lemon. I always though the Fiat stereotype was just that. Honestly every car manufacturer has haters and I figured manufacturing and engineering standards would be good enough to expect ANY car to last 100k miles. Boy was I wrong. To hell with Fiat. Leave that shit ass oil leaking go kart engine in an Abarth. Putting tbat in a Dodge was disgraceful.

      I was told by the techs it was located in the trunk. They said the wire was loose or no longer connected. They probably was lying whole time to cover up what the real issue was idk smh. Because dodge was going to goodwill it because it was an electrical issue. But tried to blame it on the aftermarket cruise control that was installed after the dealership said it was one of there when it wasn't so they had to get it installed. Or change the sticker price.
