It’s a prequel but we don’t have confirmation yet if it’s salieri the main man but I don’t mind to play as an upcoming Don like salieri no one wants to say no of course I choose Leo over him! Leo is literally a mastermind he is very wise! But I’m not mad about it, But the new president wants to greenlight mafia 5 right away after the 4 one is done and it’s so good news we prob don’t have to wait 6-9 years like usual in every game! Mafia 5 will most likely be about Vegas everybody wants it and original plans was Vegas before hangar 13 choose the flop voltron over mafia, if mafia 4 is a success and brings money which is most likely if they do it right like the remake it will be then a Mafia 5 in Vegas, so they play it smart and safe and many fans don’t understand that . This franchise is my favorite but so underrated

OG Mafia really wasn't THAT bad what you said in the video. Of course it's a little outdated etc. but I still enjoyed it (played last year, haven't played it before ;) )

For me the gameplay wasn't very good, but there are still games with worse gameplay. For me, the best part of OG Mafia is the story. And in my opinion, there's a thing in the game, that nobody talks about- the graphics. They were great for the time. Just compare them to the GTA Trilogy.
@@thedorios ikr! Not being Mafia fanboy but OG Mafia looks way better than GTA 3 and Vice City. Not 100% sure does SA or Mafia look better, but at least Mafia looks more "realistic" than SA

Mafia 3 is the only Mafia game I've played. I thought the Prologue was one of the most impressively cinematic things I had ever played, it absolutely floored me. I was so excited to play the rest and thought it'd be something I raved about and recommended to everyone. As soon as the open world opened up and I started grinding a generic, repetative, sub-par open world game I was beyond disapointed. I just bought Mafia 2, I hope it lives up to the hype and I have a better time with it.

Mafia 2 was great, especially because of the interactions between Joe and Vito and overall story. So it's extremely close to first place on my list, but I have to give this to Mafia DE; the story was awesome, voice acting was superb, and gameplay was better and smoother than Mafia 2 (P.S. gameplay was the only minor downside of Mafia 2 imo). That ending; made Tommy look like the OG Mafia badass. Everything else on your list fits the bill though.

Mafia 3 didn't feel like a Mafia game to me, the story for me was close to being decent until it when all out on vengence and race wars sometimes. However, the characters are good, they have quite the a charm, what didn't work was gameplay and story. Like what I said, it felt like a different game it's like GTA had sex with Punisher that mutated becoming a different franchise that doesn't match them and getting caught up with mobsters.
Mafia 2 has an amazing story, the story of an Sicillian coming to the United States and later falling in with the bad crowd. Characters are really great and share many values to them. Every second is super heart pounding. Gameplay was fantastic, really fun and easy to use. My problem with it is that it's too short. Overall, one of my favorite Mafia games to date.
Mafia DE aka Mafia remake is an amazing remake to the story of Mafia 1. Everything from the first game had so much improvements to voice acting, characters to story focusing more on Tommy. What didn't work was that the game was nerfed for what it feels like for 8 year olds. I know the original was hard but come on, if you handed this to a kid it's gonna be super easy for them to play. And for those who don't care about the story can easliy skip too even when driving most of the time. This is like they don't care if we care about story. Overall, Mafia DE is amazing. It has improved in some areas on the oringinal game but once again they've nerfed it.
Mafia 1 aka The City of Lost Heaven, is without a doubt my favorite Mafia game out of the bunch. I love how there was many interactions for the environment and the gameplay. The gameplay is hard beacause it's shooting for hyper realistic in many ways. I mean look at Saints row and GTA, they're hard and realistic but not as much as Mafia. Cops will get after for not even only speeding but sometimes passing a red light. While Mafia 1 does not focus much on Tommy, it at least has a character, a Gangster. It feels like you're playing as a random person that doesn't make you care about their name at all but in the eye of a mobster. Acting was good and bad at the same time, but it's forgivable. Anothet thing I liked was the ending of Tommy, it was all so sudden. He died with him narrating a few last words and the game ends. Overall, Mafia 1 is my most favorite game of the franchise. It may not fit today's standards but it's more Mafia then we could ever get, a little bit more than Mafia 2. I just wish I had that game still.
i finally played the mafia trilogy for the first time, except for mafia 3, i got that in 2017, and usually if i play a sequel game i’ll like that game more then the first or second just because i played it before them, but that was t the case for mafia 1, DE, the game was so good i played it twice in just 2 days, i’m on mafia 2 right now
disagree with that 3 didn’t feel like a mafia game in the traditional sense because it didn’t focus on the Italian mafia but overall it was still a mafia game because it focused on organized crime also you said it was decent until it went on vengeance and race wars there wasn’t a race in the game yes the game was about revenge but it was a revenge story told very well if you ask me and race was a important topic to the game it’s not like they forced it down your throat Lincoln was a product of the 60’s your a black man in the Deep South I mean ofc your head racial slurs it was authentic to the time period personally for mafia 3 had second best story of the trilogy because of how great the characters were and amaizng the dialogue and the score was In this games Sal was a amazing villain and a great antagonist and had a reason on why he betrayed Lincoln !!! So yes it’s a revenge story but it’s done well and you can say yeah it has punisher influence but at the same time it’s still a mafia game Lincoln is still a criminal he was apart of the black mob and later he controls his own underbosses and runs a new bordeaux style of commission which I love so at the end of the day mafia 3 is still a mafia game it’s just a different side of organized crime I love mafia 2 great game when it came out but I’ll honest as much as I love mafia 2 the rages to riches tale was done well in that game and same with mafia the original I like the idea they went with in mafia 3 but overall if I’m being honest all 3 games have a great story just me personally I think mafia 3 story is better because of the fact that it’s a revenge tale but it touches on the sense of morality, greed, becoming the very thing you hate and family I think that’s makes the game great mafia 2 has some values you as well with family the consequences of the life etc.

Just finished it today, Mafia 2 is by far the best from all three games in my opinion
3:12 Oh boy I couldn't disagree any more, the shooting was actually very good for it's time way better than either GTA III or Vice City which makes them look like cheaply made indie games in that department for stuff like:
1.Shell casings and clips on the floor that make a different sound depending on the surface, not even big budget AAA games have these.
2.Reloading a weapon means losing any bullets left in the current clip which can create some risk vs reward situations.
3.Enemies have limited ammo, they react and die accordingly when getting shot, sometimes they will crawl before dying which is pretty cool.
4.When getting ammo from another gun the game remembers the number of rounds left in the weapon one takes ammo from and if there's more ammo than can be carried, the excess rounds will remain in that weapon and can be taken later if necessary.
5.Guns have real kick and recoil so fire in short controlled bursts.
6.An inventory system that allows you to carry a few pistols and couple of 2 handed weapons (one in your jacket, one in your hands).
You should realize that the Mafia 1 is a hardcore PC game that doesn't hold your hand and it's not made for casual plebs who seek out instant gratification, you need be patient and forgiving in order to enjoy it.
Also there's nothing wrong with the controls, they are probably the best of any game I've ever played, it also has support for controllers and steering wheels.

Mafia 3 was good but the racket system could’ve been way better like actually having a more hands on approach to running them or at least taking part in them after you take them over and assign them to one of your under bosses. Plus I didn’t mind lincoln but the idea of him being a special forces soldier almost like the punisher taking out the mob kinda ruined it for me, if maybe it was like the American gangster film like you’re taking the city over to be the boss over it all because they’re a rival makes more sense in the mafia franchise! Plus with its vast districts having so many shops, skyscrapers and the poorer areas you could’ve been able to own many different types of businesses both legal and illegal, different styles of cloth shops, places to own like different and customizable safe houses and so on! The mansion you have your sit downs at was such a waste it could’ve been your main hq and built it up to be a luxury mansion!
If these games had more open world stuff to do and side missions they woul literally be goated. Especially Mafia: Definitive Edition, I thought that the world looked incredibly beautiful and people seemed realistic and it seemed like it would be fun to do side stuff in the world. But since there is basically no point in free roam, the beautiful town and the out of town areas seem like a waste of potential.

i really like the way that you speak on the things the games do right even if you didn't personally like them.
I never played these games, in fact I recently have only seen LPs of each game. Lol The stories are the main saving grace for this series. Fans hold on to the potential for this franchise to take off bigger then it has, and clearly there’s something missing to keep these games from being raved masterpieces.

i played all mafia games, expect for mafia definitive edition. i completed both mafia 2 and 3, however i like mafia 3 more. sure, it may have a lot of bugs and it may be repetitive, but i took the bugs as a joke. plus having all 3 dlc's makes it even better.

Well over a decade ago now I downloaded Mafia 2 when it was free on xbox gold. Never touched it the entire time until yesterday. Glad I came around to it finally.

For me personally, I prefer Mafia over GTA. The GTA series is great don't get me wrong, but there's just something about playing as a gangster Mob. The remake of the the original Mafia game was fantastic, it's probably up there with one of the best remakes in gaming.
I agree wholeheartedly that Mafia 2 is the absolute best. I much preferred driving around in the 40's and 50's over the Vietnam Era in Mafia 3. Mafia 2 made me feel like I was there. The soundtrack is amazing. I purchased the very limited official soundtrack, but the entire soundtrack is on CZcams and is amazing. The storyline, acting, and mechanics are great. I found myself really caring about Vito and Joe. An amazing game, no matter how you look at it.
I also beat the race on my first try in the definitive edition.

Trust me. Play the original Mafia the city of Lost Heaven. The gameplay is obviously not as good as the others but you will understand why there were sequels and even a remake 20 years later for such a game. The original was better in every aspect other than graphics. Story, characters, acting, music are generally better in the original game.

I'm playing Mafia 2 definitive edition for the first time after playing the remake if 1 and 3 and 2 seems weakest so far. I'm just right now at the part where Vito gets out of prison. Nine of the missions really seemed as interesting and epic as some of the ones from 1 did.
I can’t decide on mafia 3 or 2 being the best. I love Lincoln clay. But I also love Vito. Maybe that’s why I said 3 is one of the best.

I absolutely love all 3 off them they're all great games and definitely the best gangster games off all time. GTAs got nothing on Mafia the first two are definitely the best,not dissing 3 but you can't top them. And omg Mafia 2!!! The best one off the trilogy I don't think Mafia 4 and 5 are going to top that it's an absolute classic. Perfection you can't beat it,I really do look foward to Mafia 4 and 5 but there's no way they'll beat the second one. Vito is the goat and I absolutely love Joe. Overall Mafia is just an amazing/bad ass franchise and there's nothing else like it.

As a Czech i will now speaking in vast majority of us, because i get from everywhere here same opinion
We fucking despise Mafia 3, we are so pissed to what they did with our franchise, that we completely ignore that 6/10 piece of shit. The best and our national treasure is OG Mafia The City of Lost Heaven 2002, then Mafia 2 from 2010 its really great, but it was meant to be much better, but you know we in middle of developing we sold that to Americans, and they didn't let it happen, so all better stuff what was meant to be in, was scrapped.
Remake of Mafia is good but not better, few things was changed, and oh boy the red barrells, piece of shit, is far more easy,the game leads you by the hand because today's games are just trending to be that way. But otherwise it's not bad, but the ending message is changed, the original one was better. If I had to compare them it's OG 10/10, remake 8/10. Mafia 2 is something in between. And most importantly there's an amazing Czech dub in 1 and 2.

OG Mafia isn't nearly as bad as you make it out to be, old games just don't hold up to new standards and that's why it was remade.
Just tried out Mafia 1(original)didnt think of it as much during install exept it was extremly fast.
Now to the fun i thought and started to launch the game!!

The original Mafia was veeeeeery hard but it was all the purpose of it.. I hated that fxng game, but finished it.. anyway.. nowadays, i rank them the same as you.. I disagree putting the remake higher than the original. IMO they absolutely destroyed the gameplay, it was horrendously generic and went against everything the original mafia was trying to do. instead of enemies just existing in an environment, they obviously spawned based on triggers. "ho ho ohho 5 guys spawned from that corner guess I just stepped into a new area". The enemies don't respond at all to being shot. even the 20 year old game had the bastards lean over a bit in pain. the map went from always just a tab away to having to pause the game for it or "durrr heres a GPS in the 1930s". You don't see your cars physically in the actual garage, no you ofc have a garage menu. shooting while driving is just autoaim. you can only have two weapons, but amazingly all the ammo of your enemies fits in your weapon every time. and they auto-pickup anyway so basically you just have infinite ammo.
let's be honest, it's been remade to appeal to the modern casual gamer. everything needs to be cinematic, easy, simple, and quick. the original strived for realism, immersion. the remake tells the story well, other than that it basically shat in the OGs mouth.
Mafia OG is the best game I played so far.
Only the graphics are better in the remake. Almost everything else from character appearance and voice acting to music and atmosphere are much worse in the remake. I expected much better from a remake but it turned out to be just a Mafia 3 clone with story copied from the original Mafia.
Take the nostalgia glasses off mafia original was not that good there’s a reason why it was remade

I am 16 y.o and I played all mafia games and I play it now for the fifth time and I see it's the best after mafia 2 ..... and I don't believe that you are saying mafia 3 is better than mafia tcolh

Mafia remake is best
The OG Mafia could have been on the Xbox but we got the PS2 port. Crap!

If you think the original is the worst one, you must be smoking some seriously wrong pipe, dude. In my book, it is the best video game ever made(yes number one on my list of all games I've played), even the few quirks it had was part of its charm. Its story and characters and phasing outmatched anything on the market back in 2002 and the only thing that has come close may be TLOU(original). The realistic gameplay and authentically slow vehicles is what made it stand out apart from lots of crap that was released in the early 2000s. The graphics are obviously going to change as time progresses with newer video games, that's unavoidable. I've heard that the console versions were terribly ported, because the original was released on PC.
Mafia 2 was pretty good but nothing spectacular. I didn't even bother with 3rd because I had no interest in playing an unrealistic politically correct Mafia. Believably is extremely important in my book.
