      It would make for an interesting movie but not so much of an interesting action game. Michael Franzese mainly handled oil tax affairs and other things like that,but he didn't participate in hits. Judging from bits of his biography that I read, I don't think he ever had to fire a gun.

      @@KennyakaTI True and it could be he just doesn't mind but if you see alot of the former mobsters (although fewer now since many of them have started to die from getting old) that would be on whatever kinda documantary talking about the life. You get the sense that it's literally the only thing they can do to make a living.
      I'm not saying they were helpless and had no choice in the matter, but odds are if you lived in a particular place in a particular time and you decided that you weren't going to be part of that life. That life could still find it's way to you if you got remotely successful. As in you owned a little mom and pop shop and managed to make a profit to feed your family suddenly someone would show up demanding a cut. They managed to put nice words like "tribute" and "respect" on it by comparing themselves to Romans, when in reality they pretty much ran their business as if they were the Soviet Union. Which is so funny because they would pride themselves on being capitalists.

Also Tommy was shocked when the girl died in the car bomb (you could tell he really didn't want that to happen to her) another is where in the first game or the OG Tommy (not on Sams orders) lets the Whore go and we all know Tommy let Frank live. He broke so many rules in the mob but he had such a human side that lacked a bit in later Mafia games.

    • @lufsolitaire5351
      @lufsolitaire5351 Před 2 lety +25

      Yea, Vito and Joe were probably the funniest but I think I liked Tommy on the basis of depth and that he started out as this normal,reasonable guy just trying to get through life who got dragged into the life; somewhat because it kind of just happened but also because he wanted to escape poverty(during the Great Depression after all) and not be a victim. The DE to me showed the complexity of his situation and that while he’s done awful things, still had a good heart underneath and there were some things that were just too far. He didn’t have the guts to murder Frank or Michelle, he understood Frank’s reasons for getting out and couldn’t fault him for being tired of looking king over his shoulder and knowing at some point Salieri would dispose of him. Maybe it was a screw up, but I think Frank like Tommy got tired of being paranoid and indulged in his hobbies like dog racing even when it got him killed.

But it is good to have strong values and to maintain them. In marriage, in crime, in war, always and everywhere. I messed up. So did Paulie and Sam. We wanted a better life, but in the end we were a lot worse off than most other people. You know, I think it's important to keep a balance in things. Yeah, balance, that's the right word. The crazy thing about Mafia: Lost Heaven Definitive Edition is that, before playing it, I was kinda fascinated by mob life and thought it was kinda cool (I know, I was an idiot that way), but after playing it, how the story being told is really something else to me. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Not that I don't love it about the quality, I just don't love the feelings that I got from it. After that, I completely lost the stupid "fascination" about that kinda thing and I never find it interesting anymore to play Mafia-themed games or watch movies about it.

    Though he’s not a mob boss, to be in that position seems like a very powerful yet vulnerable position. Every position in the mob seems vulnerable, a very lavish, yet hard life. So interesting to hear his perspective. After seeing the game finished it seems pretty sad too, not an easy thing to leave behind.

      @@themaddestvillain3040 They're pretty different games though, both Sleeping Dogs and Mafia were made by Westerners, you can tell as much from the game design. Yakuza is more a crime drama series in game form, melodrama and all. Fine you don't like it, but I can guarantee lots of people do.
