Beautiful car. Love the fender flares and iconic Celica wheels. If only I bought one when they were dirt cheap in the lare 90s.

I bought my 84 celica supra in 2009 for $800........bought a 85 celica gt needing work at auction for $150.00. Deals are out there just gotta look, prices are on the rise sure but 80's yota's aren't as appreciated as they should be so they're still cheap.

@@robbalinski1606 parts for those cars are expensive and hard to find now. Buy one that needs a lot of work is a no go.

I have a pristine 84, 5 speed that my wife bought new as a young woman and we still have it, it has seen a lot of cars come and go over the years and I took it off being a daily driver over 20 years ago after it accumulated over 300,00 trouble free kilometres and as it had an arrow straight accident and rust free body with a pristine interior I then rebuilt the engine and mechanicals where it now has only travelled a further 60,000 KLM’s in the last 2 decades and a nice lick of paint it is now on Classic/Historic concessional vehicle registration here in the state of Victoria, Australia, the only thing I reckon spoils the look of the American versions is those red side tail lights that fit in the place of the black side vents at the rear and those amber front indicators on the black side strips, to me it looks like an add on to obviously comply with your registration laws, but it looks like it’s a pretty good survivor and has been looked after too

Don't see too many of these mid 80s cars that are in mint condition also those headlights that flip out on the front when you turn it on is really cool

My dad drove a white one of these in Fort Worth area. He probably had it used from 1989-1999. I believe it was an 1985. Fort Worth was very different back then.....memories.

I owned every model up to 1985 skipped 86-93 and had a 94 and still have a 01. I kept the 94 st coup untill 3 years ago, it had sat in my driveway for 10 years not being used. I sold it whipping my eyes
That car easly got 33mpg in the city.
But it never had the power of the 85
The 85s 22re motor was still being used in the trucks untill 1999.
    So from 1973 77 78 80 83 85 94 01
    I've had almost every model
My 3 favorite were the 73. 77 and the 85. The 85 was very fast with just the 4 cylinder motor. The fuel injection was a big plus for that motor. The 73 had an 18rc the 77 was a 20r I belive the 80 was the 22r so was the 83. The 85 had the best motor of all of them. 22re.
At 70mph the tac read about 2k rpm
My 01 its more like 4k rpm
Im not a fan of frt wheel drive cars.
The 85 drove in serious snow and ice storms with no problems.
My 88 supra turbo I had to put snow chains on, but id fly past 4x4s in the snow. 😂
