Our good ol red combine blew the engine during the first hour of corn harvest this year. 9 liter Cummins with only 1063 hours. Nice.

@@DoEverythingWell 6088. Dropped an exhaust valve in #4 cylinder. Destroyed the cyl head, piston and bent crank. $20,000 + labor for a rebuilt engine from Case.

@@DoEverythingWell Thanks. It's back running again. Good as new. This combine is actually a replacement for the first 6088 we bought. It had so many problems after one season that Case took it back and gave us a new one.
Just watching that corn head unfold I thought what way of dealing with "Just stop Oil " protesters.They'd get stuck between the snouts trying to stop it.
Honestly think folding corn heads are the way to go
as neat as they are it just depends on your area. here in central ks we can run around with a 40ft 16 row with minimal issues. for us the added weight (compaction) and complexity (if it moves it's going to wear out) of the head doesnt pay. from a dreamers view it would cool to have one.

If you love more stuff that breaks, sure go for it... Give me simple everytime And folding you can't put attachments on therefore your harvest is lower as you are leaving part of it on the ground

It's trippy watching a straight cut header do that same fold, more practical in Europe where spots to set the trailer for picking and dropping the header are not always available.

Pretty cool combine. But it looks like the back end was cut off. Usually the husks and the cobs appear to be dropping from the back of the colored part of the combine. This pushes out of the black part or lower area. Just a little different but still pretty cool. Thanks Mike.

The farmer I work with runs five heads like that here in west Tennessee, they are a very dependable corn head

A modern transformer, do a comparison of new holland combine to the case ih combine ,since its technically the same company.
They are owned by the same company but the new holland combines are quite different from the case

It’s a really nice design definitely would save you a lot of money no car no extra truck trailer driver oh what the cost comparison differences between that and a normal head

@@bigtractorpower Their is a guy in far west ky that uses the JD folding corn heads on all his combines. He usually has 5 combines running at once .
That is one cool corn head! What kind of corn was that? Looks a little scraggly & weedy. Is it organic & when was it planted? That's a lot of dust in the air. Kind of thinking that might have been last years crop harvested earlier this year.
What are the spiral things on the side for?
To take care of broken corn stalks, when its leaning over to the rows next to pass, to help it feed into the head, instead of building up on a side.

We do not run a folding corn head we are still running a 1660 international with a 6 row corn head but we would like to upgrade to a new 50 series combine
Who’s the other big farm out there that runs Case equipment??...they were on your channel a few years back
you're not pushing you machine hard enough if you don't have cab corn

Got have enough rear weight to counter the header, otherwise steering is questionable at transport speed.

How is the view from the driver's seat when in the transport mod?
Not bad
I show the cab view at the very end of the video while Head is folded. There is no issues on visibility at all.
needs new rollers or something on the corn head, his stalk cut quality is terrible. Leaves a real dirty look in the field. Could use some shredders on the head, but those aren't cheap.
They follow right behind with a disk and drill and plant next years winter wheat crop after the corn.

I do not know. Geringoff is a German company but they operations in the United States.
