    Really appreciate the look at other players mentalities, along with seeing winning AND losing hands, and thought processes that were hit and miss, but mostly "hit", on calling out what the other player SHOULD have in certain situations. oddball play now n then at higher stakes, when comparing to other vlogs, isnt as "oddball" as one would think it SHOULD be.....
    meaning, guys with $$$$$ will play some stank sh*t cuz they can.. not all the time, but, like some poker tourney pros, they throw in pure trash now n then, and really play YOUR cards, not theirs..

    Nice video. Should probably bet like $600 to $800 in A8 river spot imo, given his flop betsize into two people I think he has a decent amount of pot controlling Ax in his distribution that will hero river and then basically a inelastic autofold range. Since he has 33 he probably folds, but in practice I prefer overbet to pot size bet even for value. If you were bluffing this spot, I think you would advocate a much bigger size haha.

      gerry o sullivan actually in this configuration, with Matt calling next to act, any protection/semi bluff that starts a bet on the flop, like 78, 45, or a small pair like 4s that continues to barrel on turn would most likely barrel river off. Especially with a blocking pair like 78 or 45. Bart

    The way to get pros to pay you off is to play unorthodox lines. The way to bluff pros is to play strong lines. Play the leveling game vs pros.

      @blakefredrickson6506 Před 2 lety

      The problem with playing unorthodox lines is that it usually doesn’t work. There’s a reason it’s unorthodox… it’s because it’s not optimal. It’ll feel good when you trick them into winning a big pot once in awhile, but does that big pot cover all the value you’ve missed in other hands by playing unorthodox?

    Weird how @18:16 he justifies cold calling in the SB with a straddle on, and yet, in his most recent “Check raised for $2000 on the River at 10/10 NL” he says seeing the villain cold call the SB with a straddle on causes him to question the villain’s strength/skill as a player. The preflop action is darn near equivalent between the two hands. So, does Bart question his own strength/skill as a player? Or does villain deserve more credit for proper play in that video?
    I enjoy these crushlive videos, don’t get me wrong. But it really reduces credibility when the analysis changes based upon whether we’re talking about someone else’s play vs. their own. There’s this bewildering propensity to talk down about other poker players as if everyone else but yourself is no skill, recreational, terrible player, etc.
    Btw I’m open to learning why villain’s preflop action (the same as yours) in 10/10 NL caused you to question their skill?

      Most pros don‘t want to embarrass rec players by making them show their bad hands, so when a rec player says „you got it“ or „good call“, he just turns his hand over and his opponent can muck. If you make them show a bad hand constantly then they‘re probably less likely to bluff in the future cause they don‘t wanna be embarrassed again.
