When I play microstakes, I have a little banner next to me that says "They're not bluffing". These people tell you what they have. The stronger their hand, the more they bet. It has taken me a long time, and two of my own coaching sessions with a different trainer (nothing against yours; yours sounds good too) to understand just how straightforwardly most people play. Betting is a language. The problem is, your opponents are speaking a different dialect than you. You have to learn what THEY mean when they say "raise". It usually means, "I have such a great hand I want you to call me." This is where better trained players screw up--we sometimes think other people are trying to "defend their check-calling range" or some such. Most of these people have never heard of the concept and wouldn't apply it correctly anyway. When they shout in your face "MY HAND IS BETTER THAN YOURS", believe them until you can prove they're lying. And let someone else prove it first! Great video. I'm subscribing.

I consider myself a medium-skilled player. I’ve been playing for money recreationally for 20 years, and only in the past few years have I really dove into theory and all of the off-table stuff, and am building my bankroll to go pro part time.
All that to say I’m somewhere in between you and your coach, based on this video and what I would have done. Poker is a very long journey, and you’re taking good steps to pick up your pace. You’ll probably get there before I will if you continue to put in the off-table work and research and continue to reflect on yourself honestly.
Loved the video, as it helped me and helped gauge where I’m at as well. I’ll subscribe for more, as I’m also interested in your journey. Good luck!

First hand he is actually exactly right, in micro stakes people don’t normally go x/r bet bet as a bluff. That’s why we just start folding everything it’s called exploitative poker. The jam on the river 8 is really really bad. I wasn’t expecting him to have a flush but I did expect him to have an 8x. So I agree that it’s tough to get value from worse an ambitious pocket sixes,7s pocket nines which probably wants to just get In on the flop & so is pocket 10s. He isn’t wrong. I don’t think we can fold pocket 10s there if you think this guy is going to be 3Betting suited aces. We will have 75% equity against flush draws. So he is definitely wrong.

Hello sir, glgl for your poker and weight loss journey.
I just wanted to say that you probably should focus more on small pots and not only on the big 200bb spots. Most of the hands you showed are somewhat standards but Im sure you're missing out many small deviations that will make you a lot of money on the long run.
Keep in mind that if you manage to steal the blinds 2 times more than you used to do before, every 100 hands, then your winrate will increase by 3bb/100.
Study GTO and find where people deviate and how you should play accordingly. Let's say you open from the SB 100bb deep, BB should 3bet 17% and I can assure you it never happens, it means that you can open way wider.
Find the loose open and 3bet against tight/passiv opponents, find the nity folds against the nits and your winrate will increase by a lot.
You dont even have to study postflop yet there is so many preflop spots to improve.
Again glhf in your journey !

Tens is a fold in that configuration. Two things, SB squeezes UTG open is strong. Also the fact that he leads out is strong in itself, tens is a fold on the flop. No point to raise your AK hand, keep his bluffs active.

2:54 - My take on this - Really key point here I think as the coach said - think about what your opponent is going to call your shove with that you can beat... or another way to view it, you are in his seat and you just got shoved on with that board - what do you have in your hand that you press call with? A flush..yes, 888 maybe yes, A4 maybe yes? But your JJ doesn't beat any of that anyway - so what do you beat.. 2 pair? Would you call an all in there with 2 pair? Likely not... so you can't get called by anything you beat, so you aren't getting any value. You can only lose more.

If your focus is on making entertaining CZcams content then that's fine, keep doing this type of content. If you're actually looking to improve, you need to step up your game in all aspects because it's very obvious that you're not consuming what he's saying properly. You need to actively listen, develop your own thought processes and incorporate that into your game.
Otherwise you will stay stuck in the micro stakes forever.

@@devpokerlisten to your coach he knows what his talking about 👍 take it from a former online pro who was 3x supernova elite on poker stars before it was banned in my country . Going back many years now but his 100% correct in what his saying. Instead of just thinking oh I have the best hand in my eyes so why not get it in. Start by thinking what hands can I beat and what hands am I beat by. Followed by if he where to have such hands how would villain play those hands on each street and then ask yourself can I get value from worse hands etc. the AK hand at the end is very obviously wrongly played when you start thinking like that.

And nearly every player of poker sucks. The coach's advice is extremely obvious to me just as a former 500NL online grinder even though I haven't played professionally in years.
The plays made in the video are so obviously bad to me that it's more like an intuitive instinct. It's a sense you'll get by putting in massive volume playing as well as looking at solutions. Admittedly, my sense for it has drastically deteriorated from years off the job, but some things are obvious, and the reasoning given for the plays made as well as the plays themselves are obviously bad. Read some basic theory explaining bet size logic and that should be sufficient to see why these plays are questionable.
It seems that most of these plays come from a tendency toward two things: Firstly, you think too much about your own hand rather than your and more importantly your opponents' ranges. This leads to things like just calling because you have an overpair without considering what hands a person would realistically shove with in that spot. Secondly, you seem to get overwhelmed with complexity and decide to simplify by just shoving and "going with" a hand you think is good. That isn't how bet sizing works. You size your bets according to the strength of your range when compared with your opponent's range. You can't just decide to shove just because you think you have the best hand, even if you probably do. That's not what value betting is for. It's to actually get called by a worse hand.

CZcams sent me here so I don't actually know your poker backstory so if any of the next shit I say doesn't apply forgive me. So, judging by your current poker skill, unless you're super committed to learning cash poker, your bankroll challenge would probably go easier in tournaments. Cash poker unless you're playing on a club or a restricted area site (any of the Stars US versions, or Global for example) is pretty tough even at the lower buy ins. In tournaments people still suck. Getting a coach was a good call though. Definitely the shortcut to success. I was stuck at like a $3 ABI for years, got a coach for a year and it almost 10xd my ABI. One last bit of advice. I dunno if you play on ACR, but if you do, quit. Do yourself a giant favor and switch to the American sites.

You seem like you understand aggression and getting paid by worse(and you will get paid by worse a lot in micros) but as your coach said, you seem to over-value a lot of hands that are strong on one street but marginal on others. @@devpoker if you want a free hour of coaching let me know. I played poker professionally for over a decade, quit due to burnout and had other ventures that were more profitable. Decided to make a comeback as i was enjoying poker again. Crushed 10NL for 13bb 25nl for 22bb, turned 50 into 3500 from Jan til now. Best of luck kid

First time I see your video..and for the little I saw I agree with your coach that you overplayed those hands..plus CB 0.37 on that board is way to small..pushing Ak in what hope of being called? You need to balance your game..but ehy..good luck..just play and study and you gonna level up

@@devpoker the problem w/ micro stakes.. bad players will always screw you coz even you raise or reraise pre flop w/ you’re monster hand these mofus will always call with their garbage hand and they will always get lucky on the flop! Been playing for years and never win in micro stakes but id I play live cash games esp tournament my cash out percentage is above average!

@@devpoker i don’t play gto bro.. just the fundamentals I guess is good enough esp in every position coz no players can play a perfect gto coz at the end pf the day you’re still play you’re game depends on what kind of players you’re opponent..
