Wow. Emily walked in and owned that store. That was impressive. I'm impressed that sales woman kept up with Emily
I wish I could do that. 😂😂😂Emily despite everything is such a boss.
Money is a heck of a thing...
But she was too cheap to fix her brake lights!
@@mrbear1302 don’t think she was but pop off
@@Bibblesupremacy1992 you should try actually watching the show before you comment!
Haha Lorelei crashing into her mother and a dramatic effect along with “your break lights were out” is gold humor
That's true
The noise she makes when she crashes is what has me dead
LMAO FR
"let me be shallow & frivilous wont you please?" honestly such a great line. people don't realize others have feelings as well
Emily is by far the best character in GG. Her character arc in the revival was also the best. I feel like she was the only character in the show that had some sort of satisfying growth as a person. I love Kelly Bishop ❤️ I really wish ASP would make a character for her in Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
She was good in Bunheads too.
Thank you. She’s the best.
Besides Jess sure lol
Lorelai had some growth when she finally made amends with her dad and his death and finally settled down with luke.
well its your lucky day ... Kelly Bishop is on Marvelous Mrs Maisel 🙌🙌🙌
“And you didn’t lose me.” I don’t know why but that line always makes me cry 😭
Me too.
"I lost her like I lost you, it feels remarkably similar to me. 😢"
Anyone who works for commission must love when Emily Gilmore walks in your store
Did you not see them all salivating?
“It doesn’t even have the right countries on it” loool
That makes it better
Or California
@@carlyedwards1422
Her delivery was so darn cute. ☺️
"... And you didn't lose me." - Lorelai
Well in a sense she didn't. It took a long time, some space and healing but even though they may never be "close" there seems to be at least some level of respect
They were both living in different worlds, but we know they live each other.
2:04-love how emily says 'everything is for sale'
I really don't like how she said that. Makes her sound so entitled.
@@ladyanime100 that's because in a lot ways, practically every way, she was entitled. Especially in the ways she treated Lorelai & Rory's boyfriends, mostly Luke.
@@ladyanime100 nothing entitled about it. Everything is for sale. You could see a car in someone’s driveway and go offer them money Bc you decide you want it. The right amount of money and it’s yours.
@@courtneyfink5880 not so sure about that.
@@Someone-vc8ek It is, though. Everything is for sale... for the right price.
You have to Kelly Bishop a lot of credit. She plays a characters who demeaning, belittling and completely out of touch (just look at how rude and condescending she is to the staff at the store). Yet, she managers to be charming and captivating which makes it hard to hate her as the audience. I think there is even an interview where Bishops admits she would never be friends with Emily.
She could be desrcibed as a narcissistic person. They tend to be very charming when they want/need to be, but still very cold and without empathy in reality.
Kelly Bishop played a part she didn't like. She said she can't stand people like that and her playing that part like how her grandma was to her.
2:39 I can't stop replaying this scene it really shows the subtle difference of what Rory is like and what Lorelei want her to be. Rory liked those things that her grandma could afford to buy for her this scene subtly shows how she had to downplay her actual wants to satisfy her mother's want of a simple lifestyle.
💯 yes! You could see that while Rory was away at Yale she began to relish in rich people things.
Lorelai likes expensive things too. Just not a diamond watch.
@@DeepikaGingerthrust upon her by our mother.
@@blairbrown4812 Yeah. As it is, it’s awkward to accept expensive gifts from anyone.
I love Emily. I have this overwhelming compassion for her character. She tries to do what she believes is right, even if her own daughter recoils from it. She has integrity.
not going to lie, i find the mall shopping scene really satisfying
Me too, I like seeing all 3 Gilmore ladies together ,especially when they weren't arguing.
Every time I watch this show and Emily is on screen, I swear I'm looking at my mother. They are so similar. It's uncanny.
I am sorry. But you love her..
same here! my mother isn't rich, but still same person!!!
Emily could be a personal shopper.
No, she's too general. She also just buys the most expensive, not the best quality. Anyone can buy the most expensive, you don't need a shopper for that.
i wonder how many employees got fired because of Emily.
Hey I’d think they’d make big commissions on all their sales ;)
Probably alot
@@DCOM.20 oh please don’t compare that filthy disgusting piece of traitorous shit to the beautifully flawed Emily Gilmore
" I do like the chapeau!" LOL
I want to be able to say, "everything is for sale" and own it like Emily!
Same. Although to be fair, when I go shopping with my friends, we have sales associates swarming us because we divide and conquer the whole shopping trip by going through different departments of the department stores and I usually go through the shoes and purses section.
Loreali: Ooph
Emily: Loreali?
Loreali: Well your brake lights were out
“EVERYTHING is for sale” 😂😂😂
Its so great for Emily to have out grown all the shit she used to do in the revival. Like she is the most stubborn character and suddenly she was the one who needed a life makeover. It was inspiring and the best writing on the revival.
I didn't like her at all in the revival. Liked her better in original series. In the revival, it was like the characters weren't themselves ,like someone else. Not like they were in the original. The revival was horrible.
@@dalewall3726 Right but out of everyone, Emily had the best storyline.
I did not think she was that rich.....
I’d say she definitely has the wherewithal to buy anything in any department store as she did here, but not enough to buy a plane. Timeshare it like she originally said, maybe
@@JR-mn3sb
I think she could have but it would have been a big dent. Remember they constantly flew to Europe and Richard always had to travel, so they definitely had the money but it would have been a really big purchase. Richard was mad at her for it when he found out. He was the more stickler about spending out of the two of them.
Candy C his business trips were very possibly covered by his firm, though
@@candyc3314 Buying a plane is orders of magnitude more expensive than flying to Europe. It's like going to Europe regularly is something ordinary professionals do. Buying a plane is something media moguls and venture capitalists do. I always kind of put the Gilmores a lot closer to the former. I mean the guy was an executive at an insurance company. Good money compared to the average Joe, yeah, but we're not talking Richard Branson or Oprah money. Though his family was old-money so he probably did have a fat trust fund.
@Daisy Shayne More like $5 million: in one episode she states they can only afford (her and Richard) to fly international first class a certain number of times a year.
0:52 is the Macy’s in the Burbank Mall and I can never unsee it.
I just know exactly how mama Emily felt that moment!
1:16 “ that’s gorgeous” is my favorite line in that scene 😂 she barely looks at the apples 😂👏🏽
Me when I get my paycheck
shopping scene : ...haa ! woh ! ... plane scene : whew 😢 spoken suppressed sooo much heartfelt, missed care...respect...love ... ✨
“I can make a bed” lol
that hat was pretty on rory
I will buy the hole damn plane!
There's never a mention of EMILY'S family. How did this person get that way? What was her upbringing? She thinks that she is frivolous and shallow, but believes maybe it's her right. Very strange. They should have had some references to her parents. She obviously was born into snobbery.
She’s part of the DOA.
@@m.a.d.m.5425 DOA?
I D F Y DAR
@@savannareed5600 sorry, she never appeared in an episode that she was mentioned in the DAR. Richard's mother TRIXIE has been in several episodes.
They mention a sister once. They imply she 'stole' Richard from Pennylynn, but she had to have been in the same elite circle to know them, used to a lifestyle where servants do everything for her
"Thing of amusement " lol
the last scene omg
I love these 😂❤️
Beautifully processed
I am Emily..... I shop when I’m upset
Do you also boss the employees around
@@lauriecarson6483 oh god no! I worked in retail that shit is a nightmare
She's my spirit animal. This is my dream .
Richard doesn’t know what he likes… I tell
Him what he likes… spoken like a true woman who believes that men are lost without a female keep house for them
Lol imagine going Christmas shopping with her good grief haha
When the going gets tough Emily goes shopping
Crazy episodes
@2:02-2:04
Want to get a person of color to obey instantly, without question and send them scurrying without a gun?
Remind them that, " *EVERYTHING'S FOR SALE!* "
EVERYTHING is for sale 🤣 wish I had that kind of money
Emily needed a job she had way too much time on her hands...
The workers would probably quit right then and there cause she is too bossy.
Her job was to keep Saks afloat and the salespeople employed 😁
" Your brake lights were out."
Please tell me the name ove the episode wanna watch it on netflix
In the description towards the ending is seaon 6 ep 9
Her daughter and her granddaughter were absolutely aweful to her. They don't even fight for love, they just walk away. So yes, she did lose them both to a world of independence. They just walk away from family. Horrible just horrible
What are we not look for so funny
Damn, I love this show, but those scenes just scream "privilege!". Spending so much money just coz you feel bad about yourself, and not your money at that!
That was the intended point of these scenes. Emily is just very out of touch with reality.
What season/episode is this?
Amani Salahudeen season 4 ep 15
I mean, I'd never do it myself but it's hilarious how Emily says 'You' to the manager (?) guy at 1.26 😁
She is the OG Karen
Rori let's be window shoppers! Instead of gluttons! 🤙🤗😇😉🥳
Emily Gilmore said “I don’t speak poor”.
Omg is Doreen Olivia Wilde?!
Ge
crl,ve9sl2l, i'gf
How exactly does she think men with moustaches dress?
Is this mitchells? It feels like mitchells
Poor Emily!!! Rory really was acting like a brat.
That's was Emily and Richard doing.
How is Rory to blame for this. Emily is worse then she is.
@@lauriecarson6483 Eh. Normally most things are Emily’s fault, (and frankly after that Minister spoke to Rory I can’t blame Rory for being really mad) but I don’t think Rory should have just left without telling them.
They could have been a beautiful team of daughter and granddaughter. Working as a family in unity. Instead they choose independence and boyfriends. Yeesh
When she was in the department store, why is this me when I walk through the department store with my friends and we all order the employees around and we buy a ton of stuff. I end up with hats and makeup.
West wing
nouveau riche
It’s how the nouveau riche stereotypically act, but the Gilmores are hardly new money. They’re to the manner born. Ancestors came over on the Mayflower.
having money brings with it responsibility. she acts like a spoilt child.
Oh but it's okay and funny when Emily does but if it was Rory all hell would break loose.
Rory Gilmore is ungrateful
Emily and Richards doing they spoiled to much.
Blah blah blah
Lorelai was so annoying 🙄
No sorry Emily was anoying
How the heck was Lorelai annoying. What did she do besides follow Emily around and say she didn't want anuthomg. My god women pay attention to Emily and what's she is doing.
