Like the cooking shows "here's one I baked earlier"! Very helpful tutorial and great channel.
Excellent tutorial. Thank you!
Funny how helpful stuff like this can be 5 years after it's released. Thanks. That helped a lot!
your tutorial is amazing . thank you
Hehe, this is realy great example of how to make the best ever tutorial out of a dull topic. That oven stuff.. man. Thank thou!
Wonderfull! easy and your explanation are clear!!!!
Thanks so much!
thanks for the awesome tutorial, you're a lifesaver
great tutorial. Thank you!
Great video, thanks for the info. The oven was hilarious!
Every time I watch a video about Max, I try to navigate the screen to get a better view, like I'm using Max rather than watching a video. Does anyone else catch themselves doing this?
you are great man! waiting for new ones!
Easy Clear Simple - Good Tutorial
You know how to explain.
Thank you very much.
Good job. Thanks for the voice. It beats a lot of the "silent movies" or the ones with music, which I always shut off! :-)
I simply loved this channel...
thats it , Im subscribed.. :D
Superb 🤗👏👏👏, best explanation,
Brilliant, thank you
Cool Video nice and clear. I have to agree (Very Best Tutorials)
BRAVO! GREAT! thanks!
Dang! Extraordinary!
hey nice tutorial..m really lookin forward for some advance version...
Nice video. :)
great video, that looks like a great way to link up objects. Have you tried to wire an objects rotation using the exposeTm helper? I'm trying to get an object to rotate 90° when another object gets near. But only at a certain distance should it start to rotate up and it should stay rotated up while the exposeTm is within a specific range.
@jjrakman try actually connecting the two gears with wire parameters, then when the wire parameter window is open, disconnect what you just did... see if that works
This is a great tutorial. I have never used 3dsMax (I'm a Blender user, as you know), but the techniques would be similar. One thing I wonder about the expressions: what would happen if you wanted to change the radius of a gear in your model (and say you made a watch that has just shy of a bajillion gears) can your expression make reference to the radius of the gears as opposed to manually entering the number? Then no matter what change you make to the size, the expression works.
thanks alot
thanks
Hi very nice Tuto for wiring, i didn't knew such a thing could be done one max. Very helpful Thank you very much. I am currently makşng an animation of an engine, i would like to ask you something : can you make wiring on condition ? For example the valves on a 4 stroke engine. The valves on the engine open and close every 2 revolution of the krank(piston), can you put a condition on wiring stating that ? Or is there any shortcut instead of animating by hand ? Thank you for this great tutorial :)
Thank you for the lesson! But I still have a question:)
do wire parameters affect only scene/wolrld axis or a local axis too? Id like to control a vertical-tunnel gate plate:(LEFTSIDE VIEW) 2 gears pull up a teethed-cylinder (45° local X axis) and the cylinder pulls the gateplate up.
thank you very much.
Try parenting your group objects to a dummy object by selecting all the items in your group and linking them to the dummy. Then use Wire parameters on the dummy.
nice tut. am rigging a locomotive train wheels and the problem is when i try to wire the parameter of the wheel to the wheel controller the rotations arrows don't show up is there something that am doing wrong.
I've messed up my connections and now I need to delete them, but my schematic isn't working, I can't double click on the element to open it's parameter wiring floater, also, I'd like to reset WP on both elements, can it be done ? sry, total noob here, my first time connecting via wp :) good tut bdw, thx for sharing :)
I have a question. In 'Pong board', you put wire parameters function in spinner and it move paddle up&down when it rotated, right?. What if you rotate the whole Pong board let's say 90 degrees , is the paddle gonna rotated and if it does rotate along with "the whole pong board" when you rotate spinner will it works the same? and if it won't how to fix it?
@shawnboy777 Theoretically that process sounds completely feasible, however, since to my knowledge there is no Max equivalent to the AE pickwick function, that would get into a level of 3DS Max coding that is beyond me. If you ever come across the answer though, Please let me know :)
hey man just a quick question, do you know how can you wire parameters wheel that has multiple objects on it? it seems that the wire parameter for group objects is disable whenever i group multiple objects together
Hello, I followed the tutorial to turn a wheel, I lincato the Rotated Y to position X but just turn the wheel changes logically the X-axis Y-axis going then it does not work, how can I do to simulate the wheels of a car ?
can anyone help me out. i have a special driver gear and in one of the four 90 degree quadrants there are four teeth. it contacts the
spinner gear once every rotation. also the spinner gear should only spin 180 degrees then stop until the teeth
get back around.
Wait. How long should I put the gear in the oven before I can use it?
AWESOME VIDEO ! BEST ONLINE !
I can't figure out how to stop making my compound gear train to stop glitching when I animate the gears. I rotated the damn gear 0 degrees at frame 0, and 360 degrees at frame 100, wtf is wrong with this thing, can you do a quick video on explaining how to animate the gears? Please ? I can animate them, but they glitch at the end of the animation, it's supposed to animate seamlessly, so glitching.
Make it 359 degrees at frame 100
in this simulation the gears are working anyway . tell if they are not in the right position . what if i want to simulate two gears one of them is missing a tooth . in this situation that gear will stop working
Wire parameters only is an available option if I right click an object with the schematic viewer open, then it only allows me to select things from the schematic viewer, and here's nothing there.
see please ACGITV and d egtorad rench touch
Since I have zero knowledge of 3DS max, I don't know if this will help. But I did a search on "3ds max expressions" and the docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/... one looked helpful. Give it a look.
