- Jackie Blue got some new shoes! We put white wall tires on, installed our door panels, finished wiring and in this video we started engine work. We did come across a set back with the transmission. Part two will be uploaded tomorrow.

Congratulations guys. It’s coming along well. I run those carbs. Be sure to take the carbs top off and look inside before you run it. I’ve had a couple with trash in them and I always change the main jet to a .125. Then your good to go.

If you’re not lowering the Bus then you’ll need to keep the reduction boxes. You could use a 3.88 or 3.44 ring and pinion which would give you a much higher top speed. But then you will have really slow acceleration. And the cure for that is a bigger displacement engine. But then I would recommend front disc brakes. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole
We do plan on lowering the bus but we have decided to keep it stock anyways. We did find the issue with the transmission which will be addressed in our next video tonight. Thanks for watching!!
Best motor for a bus, everything inside it new :) Will be interesting to see how the carbie goes. I had one and it lasted a month then I got flat spots :( Went back to og rebuild one.
Fingers crossed! We are going to bring another engine and carb along for our trip. Don’t want to take any chances. 💙
@@evilironclassics2719 make sure the accelerator fuel pump is squirting down the carb right thats what failed on mine and caused a flat spot on accelerating. It would just dribble out sometimes.
What kind of whitewalls are those?
They are from Callitw.com size is 205/75r15.
