  • In this DIY video you will learn how to install foam architectural shapes, pop-outs, molds, details, or boarders around windows and do it yourself. In a recent re-stucco we removed wood citing and the retro fit windows stuck out to far. To blend in the windows we added foam boarders.

    Looks good bud👍🏻. One question do you have to remove the existing stucco before applying foam?

  • @thefloridahomeownersguide

    What do you do about the exposed mesh tape that isn't covered by the foam prep?

    So it’s like a scratch coat for foam pop outs before finish stucco? 🤔

    Awesome video. I’m replacing some arched windows on stucco and they stick out about 1/2 inch from the wall is this what I need to do to remedy this ? Also do you know what the process for replacing the stucco around the window is ? Do I have to do like the 3 step process. Thanks in advance

    I have that framing on my house and it’s the worst thing ever . It’s so delicate it’s breaks and I have holes in it . What do you recommend to patch up the holes ?

    I saw this being done on a 12 million dollar home and was surprised to learn foam is used all the time not wood, even apartment communities and office buildings

    What did you say the foam prep was made of? The foam prep was basically ???. You said something, but the wind cut the audio.

      There are many types of foam prep available depending on where you live...i think in this video we used foam magic, but any dry polymer modified cementitious material will do...ci base, polybond, and base x are examples of other materials that we use for this application that all work around the same way

    Ok so I got A question what did you end up doing to the fiber mesh hanging on the outside of the foam??? float it in? cut it off? you didnt film any of that.Thanks

    • @dauntefriends5832
      @dauntefriends5832  Před 4 lety +1

      We restuccoed the whole house...the extra mesh was covered with the foam prep cement, floated, allowed to dry, then was glued along with the rest of the wall before the finish coat...if the entire wall doesn't need to be restuccoed you can cut it where it meets with the wall, but feathering the mesh out creates a stronger boarder
