Man I can’t believe he was able to convince his brother to serve his jail sentence
That's some serious con skills.
Man, I can’t even get my twin bro to give me a dollar
I know, right? I have a sister and I can't even convince her to put my laundry in the dryer while I'm at work
I can't get my sister to do anything for me.😭
For real, his brother was crazy. How the heck he did that lol
Inmate1: "What name did they give you?"

“The hash slinging slasher” I understood that reference

I'm just surprised that some of these countries have a statute of limitations for murder....
i wonder if it's based on the idea that people change and it's unfair to prosecute if they're not that person anymore, but even then...
I mean, in the US “life in prison” is only twenty years in some states.
The statue of limitations is a thing because after a long period of time, witnesses can disappear, evidence can fade or become non-existent, as well as memories. Meaning a trial cannot happen if there isn't any clear cut evidence.
It's actually pretty reasonable...... Kind of.
@@octavianjoseph8633 Not since DNA analysis became a thing in the 80s.
The series "The Serpent" in Netflix is based on this person. I'm glad it's mostly accurate.
Well of course it’s accurate I did thorough research I’m the writer of “the serpent”
@@leerjet8784 kudos ! what a great show
They always seem to do an episode like this shortly after Netflix releases a crime series haha free advertising for Netflix ;)
@Captain Mercurian At least they picked a French actor to play a French person. Tahar Rahim is also an excellent actor who received multiple awards which included a Cesar (French equivalent of Oscars) and a Golden Globe.
I find it pretty funny that you called him the whitest since his family was originally from Algeria lol.
@Captain Mercurian to be honest he does KINDA look white, I could see some people thinking he’s white based off some images, or at least half white. And I’m Asian 😂
His eyes aren’t the typical shape and angle you see amongst other Asians. His skin is pretty light too considering where he’s from in Asia.
"He married a chic Parisian girl named Chantal..."
Me: 👁👄👁
That’s my name too 😂
Ahahahaha

Yes
And if a 10 year old went missing the police whould say that they are a runaway...
imagine putting all this work in to kill people and not get caught and then they call you bikini.
I don’t know if I’m just really into girls but every time they describe these guys as “handsome and charming” I’m just like “nah, not really”
I never understand the documentaries where serial killers are described as charming and cunning. They never actually look nice
I agree. It’s like serial killers or killers in general are rated on a different scale as far as good looks go.
Fr like what? Some channel called the Green River killer good looking...
Ted Bundy was a chameleon. I didn’t realize how much so until a magazine published 34 b&w photos of him during his trial. In each one, he looked like a totally different person.
I think it isn't just their physical appearance but rather their overall demeanor/the presence they command that makes them come across like that. Plus, we've only seen these guys through media. I think meeting them in person without any prior knowledge of their crimes might be a different experience.
the stupidity and madness in the world baffle me. REALLY lawyer's daughter, REALLY?
I'm hoping she just wanted to marry him for the inheritance and the fact she'd never have to deal with him since he's in prison for life
@@Earthworm4 oh he had money??
oop
@@AlexaBellaMuerte I think he got a decent amount from his crimes and prison activities? I could be wrong but if it's right I hope she married him only for the money
After Charles was a free man (after his release from India) he came to Paris. There he lived like a celebrity giving interviews. For interviews he charged millions of dollars. I read somewhere his net worth grew to around 15 million due to making money from interviews and documentaries about his life.
The serpent on Netflix is one of the best series I've watched till now.. if you're into serial killer stuff its 100% recommended.. the acting and the plot was just mind-blowing
Quite honestly I cannot believe that he convinced his brother to serve his jail sentence...
and just completely switch identities. 😳😳🧐
Thank you for this one. I've searched for videos on this case from other crime youtube channels but couldn't find any. This was a huge thing in my country and we were all shocked when he got married to that young girl.
Nepal?
watch the serpent on netflix
He is now out of prison...
From 15, to almost 80 this man has never given up
Forty years in the can
Eh not worth it
The reason why killing is wrong is not just because it's bad it is also because you are preventing the good that the victim could have done in their life
and it can be traumatic for family members as well
To be frank, its really scary to think that killing is punishable just because we are violating a persons right to live. And only because of that.
@@captainaizen4866 yet human kills animals without any punishment.
Technically killing can't be wrong. Humans value them lives so much compares to other species.humans kills dogs without getting in jail so why human has to go to jail for killing own kind.. law should be equal.
@@youtuber2928 i think you can get arrested for killing a dog in certain countries because that's animal abuse
The Netflix show about him is crazy good
It’s so sad that parenting has one of the biggest root causes for how people act when they grow up..
All I can think of is the BBC series "The Serpent" which follows this case satisfyingly accurately.
I’m really impressed with how accurate the series on Netflix about this case. Wow! Crazy case
I watched the Serpent on BBC over Christmas- captivating and from what I’ve read subsequently, fairly close to reality.
I would never serve my brother's jail sentence so I'm not sure how he accomplished that or why his brother agreed...
What if he just good actors
Or he had some secret of he's brother were he hasd no choicw
Wow. I'm going to have to watch the Netflix series about this. It didn't seem interesting until I watched this video.
I binge watched it when it came out, it’s pretty interesting. He did a lot of messed up stuff
It's a BBC funded series.
£159 per UK citizen ,per year to fund the BBC. Not a subscription fee, its a TV licence and everyone must pay.
You're honestly missing out
May I know the name of the show?
@@rebeccawhite3804 damn. What if you can't pay??

Same with India
Serpentine by Thomas Thompson is the original bestseller, highly recommended.
Can you do a episode on Spring Heeled Jack! 🙃
Spring Heeled Jack was more of a boogeyman because there is no evidence he really existed
I heard about this case but didn't know a whole lot about it until i watched the Netflix series and started looking into it more. Was definitely very interesting!

Talks about heroin, shows pot being smoked 😂
Could be opium. I smoke a joint on a train with some morrocans 3 drags I was done blown back. (I had been smoking hash all holiday) so I knew it was somert different
It can be crack too
Yeah you can actually smoke opium, and/or snort heroin. Typically though, people shoot it up.
I'm an addict, and opiates were my specialty. Proud to say that I'm 10+ years sober now. I'm 31 years old, just in case that number is messing with your head. (I know, I look great for my age! Probably just my short attention span. 9 mins in,and I want to close the video. Or it could be the monotony?
Its the monotony of the narrator. They should get someone better.
This lady should narrate audio books. She's got the book narrator voice down pat. 👍
Watching live from Dubai
love this but what happened to the other narrator? his voice was so haunting perfect for this
Channel: Buzzfeed UNSOLVED.
Video: *explains how a criminal was caught, and their case was solved*
America explain!
He was only imprisoned or tried for cases committed in particular country. Many more are still unsolved unknown. He knew many languages n frequently travelled. Serial killers go from state to state. This man went country to country.
You are talking about indian police capturing sobraj and showing pictures of captured sobraj in Nepal.
Never heard of this guy until today. This guy never got justice served to him. How can a mass murderer like this only get 7-10 years of Jail time in that part of the world back then?? R.I.P. to the innocent victims.
The Bollywood movie "Main Aur Charles" is excellent.
Talks about the relationship between Charles and the police officer looking for him. It glamourises Charles, but really shows how charming and witty he was
How to be like him
That woman in the brown bikini sure got a lot of airtime haha
Airtime means?
The title interests me
This man walked free i cannot
There's a book about this guy. Serpentine. Very interesting.
I still wanna know the reason why he came back to Nepal
Overconfidence
I did a case study on him years ago
He thought all the charges now forgotten because of years ago and he thought he can be free
He was being oversmart.. He thought he will go and kill many again fly back to France but it was too late.
It was neither over confidence nor over smartness. It was something much more than that. You will know the true reason why he came back to Nepal in 2024 April.
You can bookmark this date on your calendar and don't forget to come back then 🤫
why do you keep on showing pictures of Nepal while saying indian jail?
Why are there already 4 dislikes it's been like 5 minutes
Because he is a killer

Quick question, does anyone know if Shane and Ryan still do buzzfeed unsolved true crime and supernatural? It's been a while I think. I know that they started a new season, like the pink panther robbers of something.
Now they have their own channel called "Watcher" channel -- it's strange, creepy, and very funny ☺ 👍
@@anonymousstrangeness7348 It really is, I like the 'are you scared' series. But I really dig the unsolved mysteries with those guys. Any idea if they still do that on buzzfeed?
@@xanderdevos2544 I haven't seen a clear indication about whether they will or won't be back on Buzzfeed Unsolved. Maybe it just depends on the success of "Watcher", or some kind of contract negotiation?
They've done a couple of seasons of True Crime since they started Watcher. They're not doing Supernatural until they feel happy to travel (due to the pandemic). No word on when the next season is, but hopefully soon
They just uploaded a video teasing season 8 of bzzfd unsolved: true crime! Thanks for all the replies, let's all wait for season 8 and meet there! Have a wonderfull day!
