The Keanu Reeves of wrestling! Nothing but respect and well earned!
Facts😂
Keunu Reeves is the Sting of Hollywood! Both are legends! No hate :)
Whoa
Good comparison in terms of people universally loved
Facts
If there's any wrestler that deserves a lifetime achievement award, it's Sting.
I agree
ITS STIIIIIIIIIIIING
sorry i had to
Right
...... and The Boogeyman.... possibly Koko B. Ware too
Don't forget about the Undertaker!
Sting is one of a few guys in wrestling NOBODY has anything bad to say about. That speaks volumes
Incredible amount.
but only because sting always said "yes i'll do it" to everything that came across, doesn't matter how right or wrong it was. so...
He went out his own way, never needed wwe, and I remember JR saying the same thing about Owen Hart, “nobody has a bad thing to say about him.” That’s so true for the stinger
A wild Vampiro appears.
except Vampiro, Xpac and I think Raven
If anyone has missed his AEW run.. you have really missed out on one of the best final runs I have ever seen. Truly an all time great.
I started watching AEW shortly after Sting showed up so I want to go back and see what I missed before then. Ive been watching for like three years now and Sting has been one of the best parts of AEW. Which says a lot cuz AEW puts on incredible shows.
they do indeed your so right and sting has been great for so long will be missed @@BrockAwesome
The most respected wrestler of all time no one is more respectful then this man... Love you Sting
I would have to say Sting and UNdertaker most respected .
shut up
@@Nicolewhite743 a couple of years ago, I would have say the same.... however... Taker has been saying similar comments like cornette, bully, booker etc... They don't hide their hate to AEW and is literally pathetic besides his commets on current hangouts in the locker room and wishing is like the old days is distasteful. I have lost respect for Taker for a while, Sting is the only more respected legend now.
@@Polar_Fighter Well said! I vastly prefer Sting!
@@Polar_Fighter Because AEW sucks ass! Its not their fault people like you and Meltzer are blind to see AEW is a dumpster fire. If anything I have more respect for Taker for calling it like he sees it, a trash company that insults the business that he dedicated his life to and not sugar coating it or taking a paycheck from the billionaire to give it praise.
As a kid, I was more interested in Sting than i was Hulk Hogan. Sting is the man!
WWF WCW WWE Hulk Hogan, had CHRISMA and only had a few moves. That is NOT great to me sorry to say. Tell you the truth he couldn't give us a story in the ring at all either. That is why "The Stinger, is way better and always will be in the book of WRESTLING FANS today and forever"
man, Sting was screwed hard by Hogan's politics in WCW, and (I think) never said a word about it...
Sting, you were such a huge part of my relationship with my son. I would get him every other weekend, and we would watch the taped episodes of Nitro and Thunder together. His first question he would ask, when I picked him up was,"did Sting come down from the rafters"? My son passed away in 2022. But his spirit and my love for him will be with me as I watch your final match. Thank you for being the vessel that brought joy to my son and I. GOD Bless you, always!
🫂
So sorry for your loss. My dad and I were the same way. Lost him in 2020. Would have loved to have watched Sting's last run with him. That last rafter drop brought back all the memories with all the feels.
I'm very sorry for your loss, brother
I'm not crying. You're crying.
And that's okay.
It's Sting.
Thank you Sting. Not only for the decades of entertainment, but for the stellar example of what an Athlete, A Father, and a Man should be.
Wishing you all the best in the future.
💯 👏🏼👌🏼🥹
Well said.
Who's cutting the damn onions!? 🥺😭 Thank you Sting, Happy Retirement - You'll be sorely missed! 🦂🤍
Undertaker and Sting ...
The Evil looking Good Guys we never thought we deserve in this industry ...
#ThankYouStinger
I hope they can have something together, a podcast interview, stuff like that. It would be great to see Mark and Steven together in a given space
Wow, just hearing him be so humble at the end of his career is inspiring.
Enough to make a grown man cry 😢.The end of an era.Thank you Stinger.🦂
People say sting is "old" but he looks and talks like hes 40 yrs old.. gonna miss you Stinger. EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU, is admirable and inspiring.
Thank you Stinger ❤
Yepp
He sounds the same as he did in the 90s.
Sting is a big reason why I got hooked into watching wrestling in the 90s.
Sting is the only reason I got into wrestling as a child....now I'm 35 and have passed the love and admiration for Sting and the business to my son....thank you Stinger.
You want to know what's crazy? Old School wrestling fans are probably saying, "I thought Sting been retired!"
The man is just class..
it's crazy watching him as a kid in the late 90s til watching him in my mid 30s. I'm so happy and blessed to have watch him live in person. A very rare inspiration of a wrestler and man. One of my favorites
"One of the very rare things in this business, nobody has anything bad to say about Sting"
"I know a few" -Sting
And I'm pretty sure that comes from jealousy and envy
Respect to the Franchise, ICON, ITS STING.
Such a beautiful and humble man. #Thankyousting.
I’ve been watching pro wrestling since I was 5. Sting was always my guy. Always. Love the guy. Can’t ever get enough of Sting. He’s my alltime favorite wrestler and there’s nothing changing that. I’ve seen his entire career. 96-98 was amazing. And his TNA career was a standout. I’ll miss the man called sting. Thank you.
Sting saying he doesn’t really deserve this shows the class of the man
Since my favorite wrestler, and I wasn't even born in the '90s! It doesn't matter what era of wrestling Sting was in, he is always been the greatest wrestler of all time! I love you Sting, and I hope you have an amazing retirement.
This was wonderful ❤ thank you Sting for all the great matches and moments. One of a kind. A living legend.
From a 39 year old Stinger from 🇨🇦
This man is an angel on earth.
I grew up in dingy, grim, post-communist Poland in the 80's and 90's and after communism had ended, we got access to cable with some American channels.
In '94 or '95, I tuned into a WCW show completely by accident and was completely blown away by the whole spectacle of wrestling... and then I saw the Stinger walk down the ramp with his colorful facepaint and I knew right there and then, that guy is special.
We had an annual masquerade ball at school and one time, in 4th or 5th grade, I showed up dressed as Crow Sting, face painted up black and white, wearing my dad's ill-fitting black leather jacket, and yes, baseball bat in hand (imagine how well that went down with all the teachers!).
Sting, I don't care what anybody says, to me you are the GOAT!
That's an awesome story bro 👏🏼👏🏼. Stinger meant so much to us growing up in the 80s and 90s 🦂. It's gonna be very emotional tomorrow night 😢💔.
That’s an awesome story to hear. My family came to America from Poland at the end of the 1800’s. I’ve actually been watching a bit of “prime time wrestling” from Poland lately. Always cool to see how global wrestling is.
That’s an amazing story, thanks for sharing!
It’s wild to read through all these comments and see how many people from all walks of life who just love this man so much. It’s so great though!
Love from Canada 🇨🇦
That's a really cool story thank you for sharing
@@bobsucks9647 at this point you just American
Im 50 and have watched you my entire life and you are one of if not the greatest professional wrestlers i have gotten the chance to watch on tv every week and i thank you for being a great part of my life .....ty sting c u n heaven my brother
Words fall short to describe the importance you hold to those of us that grew up watching you. I'll simply say...THANK YOU Sting.
Sting has been my favorite since the Bladerunner days. You will be missed. Happy retirement.
😂😂😂 here we go.... sure he has 👍 👌 blade runner days 🤣🤣cmon man
I feel like as Sting got older we connected more with him as a person than his character although i have always been a fan of the character. Man this has me kinda down to see him retiring but i can't be selfish.
Icon and inspiration is Sting, in and out of ring. Nothing short of a Legend. My all time favorite wrestler. Thank You Sting!
THE ICON!
I met Sting in 2015, and we spoke about our faith and Christ. He was a super hero of mine as a child, and a man I respect now as an adult. Love you, fellow brother in Christ. Well deserved applause for you, Steve Borden aka Sting!
Lol jebus
@@MyChannel-ol1zz oh fuck off. Finding religion literally saved Sting's life. For the thousands of those who claim to find God as an excuse for their shitty past, Steve Borden is genuine. We wouldn't have this man if he didn't have his faith.
Amen!
Not sure what’s funny about this. It’s an important part of Sting’s life. But you go ahead and side with Satan. That’ll work out well for you.
@@JesusIsComingSoon316 Well said!
It really didn’t start to hit until this last Wednesday seeing Sting come down from the rafters one last time. Being able to relate and connect with Sting from being a little kid in WCW to now and how seemingly nothing has changed, he’s just special. Thank you Stinger
End of an era. #ThankYouSting
Gave me the chills. My oldest brother put me on Sting as a kid and I always made it a point to see him perform. Definitely will never be another like him.
There are 1000s of fans that grew up as a kid with Sting as a hero, like myself. I wasn't a part of your VM but I'll be there live, in person to watch you retire at Revolution. You sir, are THE icon.
Sting has always been my favorite since I was a little girl back in the 80's. God Bless and Love you!!!!
Sting, you are the epitome of a professional in a business full of grown ass men acting like children. You've never ever disappointed like others, you've never taken your ball and gone home, you are THE ICON that every professional wrestler should try and emulate. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the memories
-from a 38 yr old wrestling fan with tears welling up
Stink played politics like most other big wrestlers
Legend. Period. Amazing man and amazing performer. God bless you Sting
Sting will be remembered in my opinion who was a great performer and gave everything he had for US fans for 39 years one of the most Charmitic performers in the wrestling industry fans worldwide are gonna miss this truly legendary hall of famer Thank you Sting for 39 years of Memories
As of right now it’s the eve before Sting’s last match and man you’ve tore it up for many a decade. Seeing you drop down from the rafters one last time sent chills of excitement. Happy trails, Stinger!
I and my sons met Sting once at a mall. He was so gracious and very humble. The time he took to speak with us is something we will never forget. He is a very special guy. Thanks for all the memories Stinger. 💯👍🙏🦂
Stinger! Was at Starrcade 97 and will be there tomorrow night. One of the few of my childhood heroes that remains larger than life. Congratulations on an iconic career.
Thank You Sting 🦂 The Man The Myth The Legend The Icon The Man They Call 🗣️Stingggg 🙏🏽🤍🖤
I love his face at 2:11
“I know a few” 😅
Damn man... Iv been watching sting wrestle since 96 and he is truly an icon in the wrestling business. Watching him through the Monday night wars. Watching him walk away before coming back as the crow character. Joining the Wolfpack. And even when they tried to turn him heal nobody bought it. Joker sting in tna and his tna run are also very good. We will all miss you stinger!
Dude the most humble guy ever
So happy for this man that he is getting his flowers and is going his way❤
I always loved Sting he is my personal favorite just the way he Carried himself was amazing and reinventing himself thank you sting
One of the most beloved and respected to ever lace up a pair of boots. Stinger, you're a GOAT.
Steve Borden (Sting) you are my first hero of my childhood and here I am at 37 years old and I will still continue to consider you one of my favorite heroes. Thank you because through you I knew how to appreciate Wrestling. You had great fights and created great stories for me, you will always be in the top 5 best wrestler in history you are the goat, enjoy your retirement you deserve and thanks again Sting the icon, the man, the myth, the legend, a great man say goodbye to wrestling the fans always remember you
I'm actually in Greensboro North Carolina right now ready for tomorrow but at the same time going to be sad long time sting fan since 1991 thank you sting for being my childhood hero in the best motivation to be the good best person I can be also one of my biggest motivations that got me into weight lifting
One day before his match, and every Stinger on the planet understands the enormity and appreciates the scope of that man's legacy.
Love you Stinger. You were a part of my early childhood. As much as you were an undeniable star in the ring your shine as a decent human being glows even stronger. Even though I will never be a wrestler you are what I aspire to be as a man. Thank you for everything!
Sting just wanted to say thank you for being an inspiration in my life. I loved watching you in WCW especially when you took on the nWo and the way you magically repelled from the rafters. I will be watching on Sunday to see ride out in blaze of glory. Your truly are the Icon and GOAT. God bless you and again thanks for the memories!
Congratulations 🎊 On A Legendary Career Sting #Salute #Icon
I met Sting one time in my life. It was up at the wild things. Ballpark. 1 year wrestling was in town. That was the only time I got to Meet him And now this is the hardest part saying Goodbye to a man. What a 35 year career spending decades. There's only 1 legend 1 icon. His name is Sting. I followed you since WCW right into the WWE and then AEW And how fitting is this the pay-per-view you started? Your are, it's now gonna be what you have. Your final match at the same pay-per-view that you started your career. And in a building where history is ridden all over the place, the Greensboro Colisium... " LONG LIVE THE STINGER".
Thank you stinger grew up watching you and was lucky to see you in Nashville at a house show at a bar you will always be one of my favorites got to see you along side my grandmother who's no longer here that memory alone will always be with me enjoy retirement!!!
this warmed my heart and made me feel sad at the same time
I am sad that I am literally watching the reason I turned on TV to watch WCW tell me goodbye. Hogan's heel turn was a top moment, but the person who stood up against the NWO, Sting, will always be remembered for dropping down from the rafters with the bat to slap up Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan. (And then proceeded to basically have to repeat this with the entire locker room since NWO became a lil too popular 🤣). You'll probably never see this, but thank you Sting. You made my childhood better.
I've been to numerous WCW Nitros and Thunders...always loved to watch Sting no matter what. He is loved for the man he is by his friends, family, and everybody else.
The last of my childhood is retiring. It's STING! I love every great memory I have of watching him as surfer sting and the transition to crow sting. I was sting for Halloween. I love you Sting and you will never be forgotten!
Thank you sting. I was born in 01 so didn’t know about your great wcw run but i loved you in TNA and to see u in wwe and aew. I look up to you as a father figure u were/ Forever will be my favourite wrestler ever
Thank you Sting God bless you.
To put it shortly sting is the reason i became a wrestling fan he's my favorite wrestler of all-time. He truly is the icon. #THANKYOUSTING 🦂
I grew up idolising sting , thanks for an amazing career stinger
So grateful for him and his years of dedicated service. Glad they did this for him.
thank you STING for all the memories as a child growing up looking up to you and as an adult we all can aspire to be as amazing as you are.
This Legend has been a part of my life for all 38 years of it. Tomorrow night will be emotional!
Thank You Sting . I got to meet you back in 1989 in Asheville NC. it was so cool ,your such a nice man. Happy Retirement Steve Sting Borden. Gonna miss ya
Sting has been apart of my entire existence and now me and my son will watch him go out the right way
Been a fan since WCW days glad to see a Sting going out on his own terms it doesn't happen very often for wrestlers.
Became a fan when I was 6 years old in 1988 because the face paint was so cool, 36 years later still a fan with the utmost respect for what Sting's done for the industry, as a person, and as a father! We will miss you Stinger!! One of the four faces on the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling!
Thank you, Sting! You have made being a wrestling fan an amazing experience!
man i wish if i retire one day people would say just 1 quarter of the positive things sting heard in this video. that would make me very proud. thanks for being a rolemodel since over 20 years sting. love u
Thankyou sting bc of u my son love wrestling and every time u come on or wen he hears that music hit he knows and yells DAD ITS STING bc he know I love u and been watching u for 20 years and man I’m so happy for u and what ur have done for the business and what u have done for others like Darby and the main event mafia man it’s so good to see u go off like the way u should I love u man and I’m so proud of u dude honestly u make not only me but millions proud ❤
Thank you Sting❤❤
Such a legend of the game. Thank you Sting.
This made me tear up! Sting has been a huge part of my life since I started watching him back in the 90's and have stuck with him since! Thank you for all the work, hours and long roads! IDK if you will ever read this but thank you from the bottom of my heart! I Love You and have so much respect for you and all you've accomplished! Thank you for the memories and for being there when i needed ya the most! May you have a great time in retirement and dominate it as much as you have the wrestling industry! Again, thank you now enjoy the time with you close friends and family!
I'd just like to say I'm thankful for the memories and just how my dad and I bonded over Sting. I think of my dad everytime I think of Sting. Just get so many feelings of grattitude during this final run
STING is by far one of the absolute Greatest Wrestlers of The Modern Generation... Period. $•|° √@|•®
Thank you Sting!
I hope he sticks around AEW in some capacity, as some kind of brand ambassador. He, for real, needs to get a "Legends" contract of some sort. I know, AEW is too young a company to have AEW Legends, but Sting deserves it. At some point, so will Jericho, Danielson, Mox, and the Elite when their time to retire comes (if AEW is still around).
Thank you, Sting!!! You've been a part of my life for over 30 years as a long time wrestling fan. The fans and other wrestlers have so much respect for you, and how humble you really are. Teaming with Darby Allin (my current favorite wrestler) has been one hell of a ride. Enjoy your retirement, and once again, thank you and Darby!!!
Sting, You will never be forgotten. You're a fantastic person and I with you the best in your retirement. God Bless You and Your Family. Sting will be in are hearts forever. Go Sting 2024 :-)
What a legend... The word "hero" is a heavy word, but Sting earned it in my world.
From childhood to adulthood *Thank you STING* for the wonderful memories
Now I would like to say my thank you! Sting, I was born in 91 and born into a family that loved WCW, AAA and WWF. I loved you, you are a real super hero and it was a hell of a ride. I remember dressing up as you every halloween, I never missed a year. Red and black or the crow paint, I wanted to be like you. True inspiration, they don't make them like you any more. I hope one day that I can meet the Stinger, and shake your hand with both of my hands and thank you for inspiring me and always having that Sting mentality. Quite, loud without speaking and just being a mystery. THANK YOU STINGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Double A said it, "There is only one Sting" If I was in Greensboro tomorrow night I would cry my eyes out lol
I grew up with so much awe and admiration for this guy. Thank you for all the years of service and dedication.
Though I am of the age to have grown up with Sting, (My first experience with Sting was him kicking my ass over and over in WCW for NES, and hating him for it) I didn't get into wrestling until after WCW folded, and the first match of his I ever saw was that lame one in WWE
His run in AEW has shown me why he was so special. People compared him to the Undertaker, and now I get why. Dude was well into his 60s and could still work classic matches consistently. Even now he feels larger than life when he's in character, but behind the scenes seems like the most grounded dude ever.
I can't even imagine how good he was in his prime
The mere fact that this man retired in his terms, without serious loss of in ring (or out of ring) performance, doing his movements with mobility, with stride in his steps, is a testament to how much of an ICON he is.
Steve, your sons were with you in the ring. You spent many nights away from your three kids (he has a daughter too) entertaining all of us. They likely have kids of their own now. You deserve to enjoy life as a father and, likely, grandfather, tell your grandkids about the day you went in as the joker/crow and the kids went in as wolfpack crow and surfer.
Thanks for an amazing ending to a storybook career. Despite the fact that you had much of your career aired by TNT and TBS, your journey will always be Showtime.
Congratulations Sting on an amazing career. You sir have been an inspiration to me and I was blessed to have met you at a church event in my hometown and hear your testimony. Thank you for being a God fearing man and a role model for me. Enjoy your retirement Icon Sting and God bless you and your family.
Thanks for being a true inspiration as I grew up and this is an amazing experience to watch. God is so good.
This just shows how much of an impact he’s had on people’s life’s. Long live Sting! Long live Stinger! Congratulations on your success and retirement!
Steve Sting Borden is a true testament to how to live your life, how to treat people and be a true Icon. Bless you and thank you Sting.
I admit that I wasn’t a fan of WCW growing up but there were two guys that somehow became my favorites over there and I grew up to love and respect: Diamond Dallas Page & Sting. Thank you for everything, Sting. I hope you have a happy and fulfilling retirement❤
Just awesome!
I remember growing up as a kid and getting to hear him speak and I was just amazed by him. He was so fun to watch and he is the definition of what it means to be a role model. Enjoy that retirement you have earned it!
