I saw this moment when he first walked in to AEW, and I watched when he walked away. Thank you Sting. You will NEVER be forgotten.
Doesn't have to say a word. Doesn't have to swing his bat. All Sting ever has to do is show up and the moment instantly becomes iconic.
Bingo... just him appearing from the darkness is an event in itself.
Well he is The Icon

Today's his last appearance on dynamite, so it's sad to think it's over now and sad that Ole anderson and stings father just passed. He will always be an icon to everyone no matter the generation.
Anyone else feel moved when Jim Ross says seeing Sting on TNT makes him feel young again?

He was dreaming about it in the Starbucks.
Went right back to watching this after his last match in AEW. I'll never forget this day when he debuted. I grew up watching Sting back in the 80's. Thank you!!!
AEW did Sting complete justice. Sting had one hell of a retirement match. Thank you, Sting, The best to ever do it.
Sting is up there with Kane and The Undertaker in terms of being a "force of nature" character. Whenever evil gets too powerful, Sting appears to put it back in its place.
Well said.

Sting’s debut is the best AEW debut. And most of the AEW debuts are great. His music, aura, look, presentation - AEW has done everything perfectly.
i dont care how old he is, sting always knows how to make the entrance, the snow effect really made this epic
I don't care if he wrestles or not, that entrance alone was off the fucking scale, super fucking epic.

Dude could be 95 years old and I’d still lose my s*** if he made an appearance. My all time favorite. This was unforgettable.

Accurate!!
I showed this clip to a co-worker, and after he marked out HARD, he said, "You know, I don't want to see his old ass actually wrestle, but him standing around being mysterious? That makes for GREAT television."
Exactly. It never gets old to see him in paint.
I love Tony's initial reaction. The total surprise and utter shock when he says "What the.." sets up the perfect attitude for when Sting walks out onto the ramp, then the iconic "IT'S STIIIIIIIIIING!" after makes it seem like an actual super hero just returned to action.
(Edit: In my mind, this is the Greatest AEW Debut in AEW History)
Dude I almost got choked up with happiness from listening to how Tony was responding. He truly didn’t know Sting was appearing that night and his reaction was as pure as any wrestling/Sting fan was gonna get. This video will never get old.
Sting walked to four generations of wrestlers in order from oldest to youngest: Arn to Dustin to Cody to Darby.
Oh good point...I also like how Darby was the only one who didn't show any fear...Arn shook his head and look worried, Dustin and Cody were in the corners almost cowering but Darby stood up and stared right back.
This segment was great, man.
@@chrisscott2009 also it made sense. Arn has seen first hand what sting is capable of so was shocked. Dustin and Cody saw a bit and watched the legend grow thus fearing him and Darby played the good role of the young guy over his head not scared because he is a foolish young kid.
This man is solidified in every wrestling hall of fame
And he cant wrestle any of them so its pointless
I didn't even think of that, good catch.
2020 is absolutely unreal. Sting returns back home to TNT after 19 years. Amazing. Also hearing Schiavone call out his name in 2020 gave me chills.
That must have been such a satisfying moment for JR and him, too. It took them back to their glory days.
Hell yeah!!!
I want to know what Darby was thinking when Sting stared him down.
The announcers swear up and down it was 18 years. But I'll take their enthusiasm over Maggle insulting our intelligence every Friday.
You can tell that tony got a bit emotional at the end when he said "it's an amazing moment". Gosh that was just like the old days
Schiavone's genuine emotion adds so much to this, you can hear it in his voice.
Probably also, because Tony called that match against Flair on the last nitro on TNT in 2001, then some 18 years later he was calling Sting’s AEW debut on the same network
Its STIIIIIIIIIING!

@@davidyu3533 its not just young wrestlers its all the young generation. Everyone wants to be famous these days. Back in the day everyone was more humble

HE IS THE 3 EYED CROW!!!
Damn lol
@Freshly Squeezed 👎🏻
Very fitting tagline for this debut too since we're also in December and this is AEW's first show of Decemeber this year, Sting's debut with the atmosphere and entrance with the snow along with him staring down the likes of Dustin, Cody, and Darby all made for a debut to remember.
Sting terrifies Arn so Arn dips.
Then the Monday Night Wars show down. Sting towers over Dustin who also looks afraid because WCW was kicking WWFs backside back when Sting and Dustin worked for their respective companies. So it’s representing the towering WCW giant who’s whipping the poor broken WWF during the Attitude era.
Sting crouch’s down to Cody because Cody loved Sting as a little kid and thats how you would interact with a child, down to their level.
Then he stand toe to toe with Darby, representing the new era and Darby’s fearlessness to stand up to Sting.
Sting checks Darby’s face paint as Sting also paints his face. Darby stands defiantly nose to nose with Sting and Sting then backs away but keeps his eyes locked on Darby for some time, he even has another look at him sizing him up before leaving the ring.
This whole thing was a test.
Darby passed.
👊👊👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice breakdown, makes me appreciate the level of storytelling in pro wrestling!
Cringe
It's funny because he doesn't end up fighting Darby, but rather befriending him and watching his back. Sting looking him eye to eye, nose to nose( whatever you wanna call it) was him looking into Darby's soul to see what kind of fire he has in him, he sees a lot of himself in Darby , so he respects him, and thus wants to stand side by side with him rather then across from him.
All this was efficiently communicated without a single word
Looking back on how surreal this moment was and how important the stare down was with Darby Allin. At this moment, he hand picked Darby and the rest was history. The Icon is one of a kind.
Imagine this with a full crowd! The pop would have been insane.
Fckn NUTS
The pop was massive with this capacity,so when a full crowd is in the roof will blow off
It would have been felt on the Rictor scale

But i guess, he just show maybe 3-4 match or 3 event/main event PPV in AEW... He can wrestling to much in 61 years old dude
He just make a suprise for AEW.. to get more fans
How the hell sting can look like this with such a fitness in his 60s?????
Hats off !
Even in wm he looked for for a 57 year old. Man having some great training
Genetics and discipline
Hes completely covered in clothes...
Clean living.
Sting is A Bodybuilder
Rewatching this after seeing him live at All In. Insane how good of a run a 60+ year old Sting has had since this moment.
Absolutely Goated
I've been fortunate enough to see Sting wrestle in person twice in AEW. That man is incredible, the things he's willing to do at his age.
That intro and the moment Sting walked out gave me huge chills. The man is an ICON and a LEGEND!
About time someone made an entrance that fit this persona of Sting.
@Franco Bradshaw bro what are you talking about, go back and listen to them the arent really that similar
i hope he has the snow every time
@@FatalS420 I love Metallica and seek and destroy is top 10 songs ever for me but I prefer this for sting
The crowd had no idea not as good as the hardyz coming back at wrestlemania but that was pretty damn cool
@Franco Bradshaw you mean which Sting entrance didnt have Sting?
Tony Schiavone's "It's Stiiiiing!" I felt that.
It's... Christian...
Tony did better here than micheal cole did on commentary when sting debut at Survivor series. Tony and mike Tenay is way better than cole in wrestling commentary. Shoo even kevin kelly from roh better than Cole.
I felt that too and the stinger yell, GOOSEBUMPS
He was definitely happy to say that.
I am glad Cole wasn't here with his stupid 'oh my' or 'you gotta be kidding me'
Seeing how he looked at Darby it all makes sense now glad Sting and Darbs had that run.
Looking back theres some good long term storytelling here... Sting comes in and looks at Dustin and Cody, decides he doesn't want them pretty quickly. Then he looks at Darby and is intrigued, checks the "dead" side, but then pauses on the "human" side and takes a closer look. That's the one he wants. And here we are coming up on 3 years later and they're still together and have written quite an incredible story in that time.
When Sting arriving is NOT the biggest twist a wrestling show does, you know its damn good.
the audience literally sounded like the stadium was full
Was that real crowds or aew crews?
@@khairulridzuan6286 i think between 750 and 1k people were there
@@khairulridzuan6286 mantap bro
Oh man imagine a full stadium would be awesome
This is just 1k audience. Imagine 10k audience next year.
