My biggest takeaway from all of this is that David Stern was suuuuper shady. When we can go back and see so many questionable things he did as Commissioner (directly or indirectly) it really stains the history of the league.

He is the reason why the NBA is what it is today. "Stains the history of the league" my ass, all those questionable decisions made were corrupt for sure, but they benefited the league.

@Calvin Herrington Was actually his 2nd championship without Shaq that he faced Allen. 1st was against the Magic in 09.
I love how lucky the Lakers always turn out to be. Every possibly random outcome or ref call always ends up in their favor for some reason.
Yet still the only team to have a trade blocked, lol!
@@adrianb4121 Yeah that's true and it made them suck for a couple of years but it does not compensate for all the "conveniences" the Lakers were blessed with through the years.
@@hristijanzdravkovski5970 it really comes down to the ownership of each team. NBA is still a business on top of it all. NY is a prime destination, but ownership sucks. Up until recently, the Clippers was not a team you played for, even though it was in LA. So yeah there are "conveniences" but they put themselves in a position to benefit from it. Same with GSW, who were they a decade ago, while other teams are just perennial losers.
@@adrianb4121 I just have a gut feeling that the reason why Stern vetoed the trade is because he wanted the Clippers to be relevant, and he wanted to forcefully build the Los Angeles Rivalry narrative. Maybe you could say because I'm a Laker fan, but that's how I think it is.

Here's an interesting story that could've been part of this iceberg. The story of Bison Dele. Bison Dele was an solid NBA forward that averaged 11 points and 6 boards a games. Throughout his career he struggled with depression and even tried to commit suicide twice. He originally wanted to take football as his athletic career but chose basketball instead. During his career, his brother would request money from Bison every year. After Bison's 10 year career, he was struggling with what to do with his life. So he and his girlfriend bought a boat and sailed across the world. Meanwhile, his brother still demanded huge amounts of money from Bison. (Now before you read this next segment, this isn't true this is what crime investigators thought the situation would go down.) In 2002, Bison and his girlfriend were set to sail to Tahiti, Polynesia. Bison's brother snuck on the boat and during mid-sail, and had a heated argument with Bison, during the argument, Bison's brother (miles dabord) killed Bison's girlfriend. Miles then killed the captain and Bison himself. He disposed the bodies into the ocean. Bison and his girlfriend's body have still not been found to this day. However, a couple of years later, a body was washed up on a beach in Mexico and the identity was Miles Dabord, the supposed killer. I know this story is long but it's worth it.

The Kevin Garnett trade wasn't a conspiracy. Minnesota was caught up in the Joe Smith contract situation which hurt the TWolves for a decade. McHale traded Garnett because he wouldn't leave because of loyalty. First off Kevin vetoed the trade until Ray Allen was included so this conspiracy is dead
And idk if I'd say KG was still in his prime. Still great but his prime was in Minnesota

The Morris twins actually admitted to playing for each other in at least one game while in high school, I believe. The T-Wolves aren't tanking, they're just inept.
Bucks were 8-0 against the top 4 teams in the West in 01 (including the Lakers), which adds more weight to the theory that Stern wanted to keep them from having a legit chance at winning it all.
The Morris brothers switching places theory is disproven, since the brothers have a few tattoos that the other one doesn't. Based on that, you can look at the pictures from the game and see that they didn't switch paces. If anything, it shows how tough Markieff Morris is. He played through such a bad injury and did so well that people assumed it wasn't even him playing.

This list is missing so many key conspiracies, like Wilts Verticle Pistol Pete predicting his own death and Manute Bol playing as a 50 year old and the Collage Basketball Point Shaving Scandle of the 1950s just to name a few

Markelle had TOS, a shoulder nerve issue. it should be gone now, maybe not tho. if it is gone, its probably just be a mental block at this point, because of the issues to gave him with his shooting
You cant cure TOS but you can treat it and get it under control, for the most part. The most common reasons it occurs is trauma, or birth defects. for fultz it should have been caused by trauma as it should have been caught if it was due to a birth defect so I subscribe to the he was in a traumatic accident such as a motorcycle accident and got TOS a consequence. I have TOS due to breaking my back skiing and can totally see it being the problem, particularly in how inconstant it is as a problem, when treated it still sometimes shows its head and it can be a oh this day is gonna be a bad day kinda thing or something like its too cold out, now I can't feel my hands anymore.

How is it tampering if players plan to play together in the future when contracts expire? I mean, are players not supposed to talk to each other or become friends? Just weird to call that tampering. I get it if the organization offers contract numbers before they are allowed to, but top level players wanting to play with other top levels players is simply how sports works. You don't pick bad players on your team when you were young, why would that change as a pro?

The problem with the idea of the Spurs turning off the heat is that it affects every player on the court. How would they know that LeBron would be the one that would get cramps and not Tim Duncan? Conspiracy theories are so fracking ridiculous

For the type of game the Spurs were putting up at the time, more conservative due to the big 3 being near 40yo while LBJ and Dwade were all about explosive movements, it wouldn't be so difficult to predict the Heat having more difficulties. Also Pop being a former CIA agent adds that something to the conspiracy theory
