Ben Simmons would be like Giannis except he is scared of failure, whereas Giannis is not. Giannis keeps trying to shoot free throws and threes even though his percentage is below average. Sometimes I feel Ben Simmons is criticized too much but then I remember he got a max contract. I watched your Giannis Antetokounmpo video which was very good and so is this one. Also the one on Jokic. I like your style. ☺️

He HAS to man up next season, I would've traded him already because he really fucked up by being ignorant punk but they atleast gave him another chance. If he fails yet again it's gonna be hard for him in the future and I bet even the Sixers are not gonna stand up him anymore. It’s so amazing to see actual polar opposites of players in the NBA. What I mean is Ben Simmons came into the league with all the hype, all the talent, son of professional basketball player and a great life. Winning rookie of the year his second year and viewed as the next big thing.
On the flip side you have a Giannis who came in unknown, passed over, humbling tough upbringing and no talent. Yet he worked and worked his tail off and look where he is now. Ben folds under criticism while Giannis perseveres through it.

Have a lot of die hard Philly fans friends and that was one thing they called out early: his position adjustment left him with very odd matchups which were uniquely conducive to rebounds. Notice his triple doubles were rarely eye watering in their dominance with a lot of spot jump shot kick out assists thanks to his bringing the ball up and embiid option. When he’s forced to create from a positional that’s technically not natural to him, it’s no wonder. He built his entire game and confidence on one style. When shit hit the fan, he couldn’t fall back on perimeter play but had to double down as a point guard. Can you imagine how foreign that’s gotta feel

Ben doesn’t even need to form a three point shot. All he had to do was practice free throws so his fouls wouldn’t be a complete waste and strategy for opponents. Any kid can practice free throws and get pretty damn consistent with them as long as you try and put effort into it. Even I went from throwing the ball behind my head as a kid until I decided to form a proper shooting form and went to my local park every day and practiced proper free throws until I became a pretty damn good shooter now and I’m not getting paid millions of dollar to do so but did it just so I played the game of basketball the proper way which baffles me that a number one pick point guard in Ben Simmons refuses to put in the time to do the same. Shooting is all mentality and Ben Simmons exposed himself so badly this playoff that until he gets a shot I doubt he’ll ever be viewed as an all star player cuz opponents are going to use that against him so much and we saw that with the hack a Ben Simmons this year

Its just like the “gifted” kid in school who was knocking out 10 books a week and didn’t have to study only for college to absolutely destroy them. In that Raps/Sixers series Jimmy Buckets was the only one getting scores because Marc kept up with Embiid and the Raps didn't care much about Simmons' impact. The year after the Sixers weakness for not having a perimeter scorer/shooter showed up again when outside of Embiid playing bully ball inside, it was very predictable to keep up with their offense.

When I look at the difference between Mitchell and Simmons since their ROTY race, I think a big difference was Donovan being unafraid to be vulnerable. He constantly changes his form, his playstyle and his routines such as before free throws in order to find what works whereas it seems Ben tries one or two things at the start of the year then regresses back to same old Ben. I routed against Ben a lot in the early years, being a Jazz fan. But since his recent fiascos and complete battle with is own city, I've started hoping that he can find some solid ground again. It looks really difficult to be him right now and I think he deserves a fresh start and a chance to quietly build back up without all the bright lights on him.

Really good video. I think another point people don't talk about is he chose to play for LSU because the coach was a family friend, and Brett Brown was also close with his Ben's dad when he was the assistant coach of Melbourne Tigers back in the late 80s. These complex long-time relationships would've been a factor in how he was coached in his most pivotal years.

Once in 2016, when he wanted to concentrate on preparing for his rookie year, 2019 because of "professional obligations", and finally 2021, where he wanted to work his shoo-absolute horses***. He didn't want to show his face anywhere after the embarrassment in the playoffs that year, but ironically, rejected a route that might have helped people to forget about it.

But no doubt he is afraid of making improvements to his offense game
