Man as a Knick fan I got see MJ in MSG in the nose bleed section. Talking about a different kind of energy when he came on the court not even talking about tipoff but layup warm up/layup drills had the whole building buzzing.
I've seen him twice in Toronto and once we beat them...
When I watched MJ during his 2nd 3-peat I was too young to understand and stats or skills or strategy. I simply knew one thing: at the most important moment you can just rely on him to bring you the win.
I watched every game possible you never knew what was going to happen, but he was just different. I wanted those shoes so bad but was poor at the time. Had to get some crappy converse the coach wanted us to wear lol.

I mean, everyone has something that fuels them, for Michael, that was finding one person who he could fight against and disprove, the more personal the better. It makes sense considering he had dealt with parental disapproval, verbal and physical abuse and lacked the respect of his father figure (in this case his actual father) who saw him as weak in a way, not to mention, all that grew to become a threat to his "masculinity." It is also the reason why Michael spoiled his kids quite a bit as he had the need to show to his kids and himself that he was giving his kids everything emotionally and financially that his father never gave him. Probably also the reason his kids don't have his drive, his motivation, his skill, they just don't have that trauma and rage to tap into.
