We the fans turn a blind eye to it because we love the game and our team, but like everything else the game has become corrupted in the name of profit. I disagree that the game has been corrupted in the name of profit... It's changed because Iverson changed it, all these modern NBA is players working outside the paint looked up to AI, they all modeled their games after him, now you pair that with today's era of "it's the players league" the players are doing what they want, and getting what they want. It just so happens, what they want also increased viewers, and sales. Would you rather watch today's basketball, or 20 years ago basketball? And sure, that might be a toss up, based on bias to your favorite generation of players, but you can't tell me todays basketball doesn't have more flair, dunks, passes, and all the other things that get the fans excited. Now let's ask, todays basketball or the strictly fundamental 40 years ago ball? It's a no brainier... The game has been evolving for many years, it will continue to evolve. I will say though, it's unfortunate the game has evolved to "step back 3 pointers" fucking harden... Aint no god damn step back, it's like 3 steps back, Idgaf when you "gathered" that ball. 🤣

@@brody6634 I'm sorry but I disagree with you...you've sort of contradicted yourself also. If they are not doing it for profit (which I think they are) then why???
Personally, I get irritated watching the games today and have largely tuned off...partly because I less leisure time than I used to, but also because to me, the game looks silly with all the legally impossible moves that have become prevalent. Maybe it is just me...as a side note, this is one of the issues that the USA 🇺🇸 Olympic teams had to deal with and part (but not all) of why the lost so many international competitions. The NBA has changed the rules but the European game is still pure.

The game today protects the offensive player so much vs back in the day defense was allowed and rules were strict. I get why they’re doing it though, creating more stars and people like fast paced offense, it’s fun to watch. But what I dislike about it is what it’s doing to the legacies of past players. There are a lot of players today that will pass up a lot of older stars records but some of them aren’t even half as good as the people they are passing up. They just have the luxury of playing in an era where the game is softer and rules favor the offensive player

Y'all youngins like to pretend the game and players have evolved way more than they actually have, but in reality there are things people can do now that they couldn't back then. I dunno why y'all insist on acting like nothing has changed rules wise, but a lot has and the sooner you understand that the sooner you'll appreciate the past for what it was instead of constantly trying to make it live up to today. That probably won't sink in until you're older and you hear the young fans say the same stupid shit about this era we have to hear from y'all.
