-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Krátké a kreslené filmy
"Jeremiah was a bullfrog' is probably one the most memorable opening lines in any song.
And it's a great song. Like some of the Beatles catalog, works just as well for kids as for adults (as long as you don't mind the kinds singing about drinking wine, which I would be a negative for Mormons or Muslims).
It always made me giggle as a kid -actually still does...🙂👍
We played it in HS marching band. The trombones got that line. Loved it.
@@David-iv6je I can tell you that Mormons loved this song.
@@NoCanDu hey I was just joking! :D
Three lead singers in this 70s hit machine. Their "Never Been To Spain", "Black And White", "One", "An Old Fashioned Love Song" and"Eli’s Coming" are next for you!!
I love the slow burn of “Never Been to Spain.” Reminds me of the build-up in Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be.”
"One" is a Nillson tune. I didn't realize it until I watched a Nillson documentary over the weekend
I vote for Old Fashion Love Song next.
Lee Troy - one of my favorites!
Listen to their drummer. This dude can play off the beat, propelling this song forward. very similar to Ringo in this. That basic rock beat is so powerful from him. Great break and middle 8 on this as well. Again, Beatles.
Alex is 100% correct - "Never Been to Spain" is the next song to hit by Three Dog Night. We can patiently wait for the rest.
"Joy to the World" and "Never Been to Spain" both written by Hoyt Axton
Hoyt's version of "Never Been To Spain" is excellent
Their cover of Harry Nilsson's "One" is simply top tier. But so many good choices to go to next, you won't go wrong.
You guys are right. "Jeremiah was a bullfrog!" is indeed the Supreme Mack Daddy of all opening lines. But only because of the superb delivery and enthusiasm with which it is delivered.
Chuck Negron on lead vocal
My favorite opening line is from Warren Zevon's "Play It All Night Long":
"Grandpa pissed his pants today,
He don't give a damn.
Brother Billy's got both guns drawn,
He ain't been right since Vietnam."
Check it out.
@@mirojugum1339 It's hard to argue against that. Zevon was a genius.
The Pogues Fairytale of New York is up there, "It was Christmas Eve, babe, in the drunk tank,"
The greatest line since "Catfish are jumping" but that's not a first line.
When I was in 4th grade, our class went on a joint field trip with a 5th grade class. On the way back, one of the 5th grade boys pulled out a transistor radio, this song came on, and all the 5th graders started rocking out and singing along. Being a grade younger than them, of course everything they did seemed cool to me, and I was kind of awestruck at how this song came on the radio and they all knew it and knew all the words and could sing along. Before that day, I paid zero attention to music. After that day, I started listening to the radio and saving up my money to buy the singles I liked. So this song really marks the beginning of my love of music.
OMG..How Bizarre..Wonderin IF we went to Same school-Time period!? Lol..I did the Exact SAME Thing in 4th grade field trip to the Museum in KCMO '74ish..we ALL were singing THIS Song at the Top of lungs & Teachers joined in!! Such a TRULY.."JOYFUL" Song indeed!!!💕
I was in the 7th grade when the nuns at our school decided to create an 8th Grade Lounge so that those older kids could hang out together during noon recess. (The school had grades 1-8, and they were probably wanting to prepare them for high school social life.) Every day, at 12:05 -- after they'd wolfed down their lunch in five minutes, and rushed down the stairs to their lounge -- they'd crank up the record player. And for several mos., the first words we would hear in our classrooms, up and down the hallwall, were, *"JERI-MIAH WAS A BULL-FROG... [duh-duh-duh!}...".* 🎶 Three minutes later, they'd play it a second time...then, on some days, a third time.
I loved it, and the song became indelibly imprinted into all my body's cells.
Great story 🙂 thanks for sharing it
Yep, I was in 6th grade when this came out. I remember singing it all the time and everyone was! What a great song! "I helped him drink his wine. He always had a mighty fine wine!"
I think I was on the same field trip! Did you know a kid named Mark?
When you are a 58 year old Boomer this IS the version of "Joy to the World" we sang in elementary school shows!
57 years young here and the same for me...
Haha - that is so true. Our music director had us singing ALL the hippie music.
You must have been about 12. I was 16.
Since you have discovered Nilsson you should do his song “One,” which was not a hit but Three Dog Night took it and reinterpreted it and made it a monster hit. Maybe do them back to back. It’s a fantastic song.
Such a great, great song. One's lovely big hit version is by Three Dog Night. Nilsson's is a gorgeous original. And Aimee Mann's (from Magnolia) is the best, most soulful version.
One was my favourite TDN song, and Chuck had such an amazing voice. The only thing worse than the heavy drugs that ruined his life, was the guys not allowing him back in the band when he got clean
I would love to see them do some more comparisons of songs in their original version and being covered. They did a couple of these on Patreon awhile ago, including On Along the Watchtower.
Aimee Mann did a really good version of the song "One" for the movie Magnolia.
yeah they should hit that song
When this song came out in 70/71, everyone LOVED it -young kids, middle aged, and elderly. Love you guys, happy new year!
Every 1st grader sang this song word-for-word, starting with the iconic line "Jeremiah was a bullfrog..." OBVIOUSLY, we had no idea what we were singing about. Wine, making love, you know I love the ladies, etc. I guess we did hear bullfrog, fishes in the sea, joy to the world, all the boys and girls. Cheers to the innocence of youth and the eventual broader understanding.
I read this comment early in the morning the other day and nearly cried because of it, just because that inevitable innocence of children listening to music is so precious to me. ♥ You're so right, I always see people joke about how they sang songs they shouldn't have when they were younger. Children aren't understanding the lines about making love, but you can bet they rejoice hearing about bullfrogs and fishes and joy to the world for all the boys and girls. It shows how much these songs really are for every listener. Thanks for sharing this, hope you have a great day ♥
The next Three Dog Night song you gotta check out is "One". It's a AWESOME banger from their first album.
...and Eli's Coming.
and it shows a completely different side of TDG than the ones A&A have hit so far.
Written by the great Harry Nillson!
One is definitely in their top songs. Also a really good cover from Amy Mann of "One." Her own interpretation, which I expect from good covers.
agredd 100%
Hoyt Axton wrote and recorded this song in the 8 minutes he had left at the end of his first studio recording session. edit: "Never Been to Spain" is another of Hoyt's songs.
And Hoyt Axton's mother Mae Boren Axton wrote Elvis's "Heartbreak Hotel" making them the only mother and son combo to write #1 songs.
Well she only co wrote it with Tommy Durden.
Hoyt also wrote The Pusher for Steppenwolf.
You may remember Hoyt as the father/inventor in "Gremlins".
Funny thing if I don't think about it I always mix up Hoyt Axton and Tom Paxton (not Bill Paxton).
When you saw them live, the audience would completely sing along to this, and by the end was louder than than the band. It really is a joyful song. My personal favorite song is their other Hoyt Axton tune, Never Been to Spain. The texture of their version is so good.
My very first concert. First smell of herbs😎
I agree with Sherry this is a great cover song by Hoyt Axton check out never been to Spain
Never Been to Spain has this amazing, intimate vibe.
Great job guys. These lunatics were excellent interpreters, great singers and a powerful live act. Hope you enjoy more 3DN. also the sing along is right on, the Nuns picked this for our Middle School Graduation song in 1971...
They didn’t write it, but they did release it first. Y’all should do One next…. Written by Nilsson who you loved. Great reaction for the New Year, thanks guys!!
Oh and Jeremiah was a bullfrog…… ask any person over the age of 50, they can immediately identify the song from that line. We all know it!
Three Dog Night wrote very, very few of their own songs, and no hits. They were performers, not composers. Though, among others, they put Elton John and Hoyt Axton on the map.
When Joy To The World was first on the airwaves, with the opening line "Jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine." that was all anyone was saying at school the next day. It was Number One for about eight or nine weeks, Ah, the memories. Thank you to Mr. Hoyt Axton, the dad in the movie "Gremlins", for writing this treasure of a song.
Yep that's exactly the way it was.
One of the earliest memories I have is my drunk neighbor screaming “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, was a good friend of mine!!!”😂😂
Happy New Year fellas!!👍🔥🤘🏻🎧
This song was my very first music purchase. My 7 year old self heard this on the radio a few times and I went and bought the 45 for I think 25 cents. It was that opening line that got me. Lots of good songs from these guys with their 3 lead singers offering some different flavors. "One" next.
Boys boys boys! When this song was released I was in 6th grade. I'm 63 now and retired. My 6th grade teacher was a gorgeous girl who was a little hippyish and a banger guitar player. Our little class sang this song in the School production while she jumped about the stage with the guitar. She really inspired me to want to play.
I figure it should be said. Danny Hutton of Three Dog Night said "We never covered songs. We resurrected songs. We took songs that failed with someone else and made them hits." Please do the live version of "Eli's Coming". You will not regret it.
Three Dog Night was the 1st band I ever saw LIVE (1969)
They have a lot of great songs
One of my favorites is 'Easy To Be Hard'
You should see the live version of their song "Elis's Coming" on the show "The Midnight Special." It was an insane performance.
Indeed!
Absolutely..Soo MISS "The Midnight Special" of my Early teens! Wish there Could be a Show that Introduced/Showcased "Newer" acts minus the Politics Nowadays!!
Hey, I'd forgotten about Johnny Rivers singing Midnight Special and others I can't think of right now.
When this song came out, it didn’t matter where you were, or how old you were. 9 or 90. You sang this song. Out loud and all together.
Definitely!!!!
I belive that their 1st hit was "One is the loneliest number" which was written by another one of your favorites Harry Nilsson!
Ah memories of being a kid age 9 or 10 when this came out. Pure childhood joy to the world. What a great year, 1970.
7 years old....had this on 45....
The 3 singers get most of the attention but the band was always super tight. Saw them at a county fair about 10 years ago and they were still great
We played this in our high school band. I remember our director telling us to get that music by the three dogs at night band. A lot of our eyes were rolling.
😂
Three dogs at night (a cold night that is) is the origin of the name.
Three dogs at night (a cold night that is) is the origin of the name.
LOL ! A former college roommate once told me that he once "accidentally" went to see them in concert because he mis -interpreted a poster ad for their upcoming show as saying that all concert -goers, upon entry into the venue would be entitled to "Three Free (hot) -Dogs" lol! - - a killer deal that a chow hound like him could never pass up!🤩😉🙃
They had the benefit of playing this, their new single, on the Grammys, and it went on to be the #1 song of the year.
Gotta hit "One". Strikingly original, and totally cool.
Strikingly original.....
For a cover!
Yes. It was a cover of Badfinger. Nicely done though.
@@bradhernandez5823 No, "One" is a Harry Nilsson song. But Badfinger originally did "Without You" which was Harry Nilsson's biggest hit. A bit ironic.
@@ronnelson7828 An unforced error on my part. You are absolutely correct.
@@bradhernandez5823 As good as both those originals are the covers are even better. 👍
"ONE" by Three Dog Night written by Harry Nilsson. And "LIAR" and "OUT IN THE COUNTRY" are also great songs!
Out in the Country is gorgeous-mellow.
In 1971 we were on a 6th grade field trip to a zoo. This song came on the buss' radio - the kids sang along - the teachers sang - the bus driver sang. It was moment that set a happy tone for the rest of the day - and a memory for an old man 50 years later.
Such a great song! 💚💙💜 Brings back some good ole memories!
I think I still like “Eli’s Comin’” and “Mana Told Me Not to Come” better, but their greatest hits is one of my favorite albums, lots of great tunes!
‘Never Been to Spain’ & ‘Old Fashioned Love Song,’ along with ‘Joy to the World’ & ‘Shambala’ are my favorites. Two of those were written by Hoyt Axton, who also wrote another favorite of mine, ‘The Pusher,’ by Steppenwolf.
I'm so worried that they won't do the live version of Eli's Coming, and then they risk not knowing who this band really is.
czcams.com/video/0CuNBengxaQ/video.html
@@Manageode - I don’t care much for that live version, personally. It is fun to see them perform live, but certainly NOT for a first listen!
They did a unreal version of Eli on The Midnight Special - the video is out there.
Eli’s Coming! Yes! Nothing in the world like that song live.
As already mentioned this was written by the great Hoyt Axton. He wrote so many great songs including ( Goddam' ) The Pusher Man by Steppenwolf and The No No song by Ringo. He was an actor as well. He was the Dad in Gremlins.
Love both those songs. The No No song is a lot of fun
And never been to spain
.Hoyt was a badass.
Hoyt was in constant rotation in my home growing up
Della and the Dealer is my favorite Hoyt Axton song he recorded himself.
It's 1971. I'm 13 and my brother is 11.
We're at the lake floating on a raft and singing this song at the top of our lungs.
Beautiful memory! LOVE this song!
You seriously need to check out their cover of otis redding's try a little tenderness......... you won't be disappointed ✌️
This. Live. Probably the best thing they did followed by "Eli's Coming".
Absolutely a must. Corey Wells nailed that song!
The best Teen Town song ever!
Smiling thru the whole thing.😁
"Never Been to Spain" really should be next.
But I kinda like the music
My dad was into this band so I grew up hearing this song a lot. My brother got the nickname Bullfrog because of it. It's great to revisit as an adult and appreciate it from a technical standpoint.
I’d sing this with my little friends walking home from elementary school on a sunny day. It’s my happy hippy memory from my youth I never will forget. Such a joyful song ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Three Dog Night is an American-Irish rock band from the 60's-70's. This band had a lot of energy. They had 3 guys with great voices that could all sing lead vocals. Hope you check out some more of their music. Some other great songs are "One", "Just An Old fashioned Love Song", Eli's Coming", Shambala", "Mama Told Me Not To Come", "Joy To The World", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Never Been To Spain", "Easy To Be Hard", "The Show Must Go On" etc.
Don't forget that their drummer - Floyd Sneed - was a Canadian. So the band was American-Irish-Canadian. ;)
The song One written by Harry Nilsson and covered by them will bring tears to your eyes. Another amazing song is called liar and The show must go on written by Leo Sayer. Unfortunately for Leo he released his version and they released their cover at the same time and their cover beat his original. I think that's the worst timing in the history of rock and roll. I thank you for all these reactions with deep respect. Going in a totally different direction you might want to check out the song Born to die by Angelina Jordan it is amazing and at the time I believe she was only 13 years old when she sang it. She sounded like a 35-year-old woman and that is a compliment. I wish you both a wonderful New Year. Be well and stay safe. With respect always, Brant. 😁
IIRC, the exact same thing happened with Leo Sayer and The Show Must Go On. If memory serves, the Sayer version didn't have the circus organ. Sayer's version didn't chart in the U.S. but went to #2 in the U.K. Sayer went on to have 8 US chart singles with 4 reaching in the top ten and 2 of those hitting #1.
The song ONE brought years to your eyes??
This was a monster hit. Huge for weeks on end! The opening line is so unique it set the tone for the banger to come.
The kids loved this song. This recording is more along the lines of I Want To Hold Your Hand. Major smash hit and sung by all ages for years beyond it's time on the charts.
Written by legendary singer/songwriter Hoyt Axton, who also penned 'Never Been to Spain' and 'The No-No Song.' He had a country bent to most of his work, but he also wrote protest songs (which cost him his Country Cred in the 60s) and many other genres like folk and rockabilly. There's a lot of material in Hoyt's catalogue; like 'Lion In The Winter,' 'Spin of the Wheel,' and 'I Love To Sing.'
Also, had a great guest star appearance on WKRP.
Also wrote The Pusher on Steppenwolf's first album, (The one with Born to be Wild), and Snowblind Friend from Steppenwolf 7.
"One" is the song I would do next from Three Dog Night. It was their first really big hit, continues to be one of their most popular songs, and was written by Harry Nilsson, whom you have developed an interest in. It also is another song that sounds rather different from the other Three Dog Night songs that you've heard.
A and A+... that's fair. This is one of the all-time great hits in pop rock, full stop. It's slightly dated, but what's cool is that it suffers not one bit from being slightly dated. It's a time capsule. It's just a straight-up banger
@bws1971: "dated" is a dumb concept.
When that came out, Everyone was singing it ! Remember it well. We were young, even little kids were singing it..
Yes! Please hit "Never Been to Spain" next.... totally different from any Three Dog Night you guys have reacted to so far! You'll love it, I guarantee! Lyrics incredible too... some truly memorable lines! Keep up the good work 👍🏼
💯! Totally agree! It alternates with Old Fashioned Love Song as my #1& 2 songs by 3DN. But I absolutely LOOVE Never Been To Spain!
Best opening line? "She came in through the bathroom window"
I grew up listening to this song and I loved it. I’m a grandma now and I love it as much as I did back then! Joy to you for loving it as much as I do!! ❤️
The biggest hit of 1971...
And they were never known as an albums band but - 1971 was the greatest year ever for rock albums.....and even given that NATURALLY has to be top 20 for the year. *such* a good album
"Joy to the World" is a song written by Hoyt Axton, originally released on his 1971 LP Joy to the World. Hoyt Axton was a folk singer also wrote "Never Been To Spain" also Song by Three Dog Night.
This song is used in the opening scene of "The Big Chill", a pretty good movie with a great soundtrack. A prime candidate for a full movie review. And speaking of Hoyt Axton, "Boney Fingers" is a hilarious song.
Three Dog Night have a lot of great songs. Their vocals and harmonies are amazing!!! Happy New Year!
This song was written by Hoyt Axton, who also wrote the Pusher that Steppenwolf did. His mother wrote Heartbreak Hotel for Elvis. He starred in the movie Gremlins.
Three Dog Night Still Rocks In 2022
They Had Over 21 Great Hits In The 1970's

I had this 45 record as a kid and I used wear it out! Thanks for reacting to it. Other 3 Dog Night Songs I recommend are Never Been to Spain, Black and White, Eli's Coming and One.
Simple, fun radio banger - I love that you can hear them laughing a couple times! Great way to start 2022!! Thanks A&A!
Eli’s Coming and Liar are my favorites by them.
Mine too!!!
Liar is good!
This song was written by Hoyt Axton, who years later, in 1984 played the Dad in the Comedy Horror film "Gremlins"
Great way to start off the year. A little trivia. The writer of this song is Hoyt Axton, an accomplished country singer, writer and actor. Hoyt Axton's mother, Mae, is called the Queen Mother of country music, and she wrote "Heartbreak Hotel" Elvis Presley's first huge hit song..
I was just thinking about this song earlier today! Should be a fun reaction.
"Out in the Country", "Eli's Coming", "One" and "Liar" are, for me, their very best. A lot of their other stuff was often labelled "Bubble Gum Music" and "Mickey Mouse Music" for surely some deeply scientific reason. There is already a perfectly good "Joy to the World" in existence. Why didn't they also do "Hark the Herald!" or "Es Ist Ein Ros Enstsprungen"?
If you compare this song with the other songs that were being released and/or created that year, you will find hidden treasures, like King Crimson's "In the Wake of Poseidon", which really is top rank. Since those were prime progressive music years, it might be prudent to scale accordingly. Fish have scales, but they can't weigh themselves.
Out in the Country - yes!
Two things about this song: I used to play in an 18 piece big band with a book with over 700 big band classics in it - Count Basie, Glenn Miller, etc. Our most requested song? Joy To The World. The other thing - I used to have the piano/vocal sheet music to this. The price on the cover was "One Hundred Pennies"
You cannot help but help grin hearing this song. A great example of a feel good song.
It’s just a FUN song.
📻🙂
This song and " Never been to Spain " were written by Hoyt Axton who was also in a few movies. Check out the "Pusher " by Steppenwolf, he wrote that also!! 😁
Well said " Very bingeable", yes. These guys are reaction professionals. They are good at it.
This song and "Never Been to Spain" written by the great Hoyt Axton, whose mother wrote "Heartbreak Hotel" for Elvis. Hoyt also wrote "The Pusher" for Steppenwolf.
Thank you for your wonderful review of my ALL TIME favorite groups Joy To The World!! I fell in love with 3DN in my late teens. I'm now 70 years old. Believe it or not, I've seen them in concert well over a dozen times. In fact, the last one was on 12/17/21. Yes, they've aged, but they put on one hell of a show. Only Danny of the original group is still with them. Cory passed away about 6 years ago. I got tears in my eyes every time they played a "Cory song". He was my favorite. To this day, I still can't pick out a favorite song of theirs because they are ALL so good. Eli's Coming is in my Top 10 for sure. Another song called "Out In The Country" is a beautiful song. Forever known for their amazing harmonies, the band members who belonged to the group were amazingly talented as well. They still have a great band with them!! There were a lot of us old timers at the concert, but I was surprised to see many younger "kids" as well. I've subscribed so I can hear you review any other TDN songs. You'll love them all, too. Great job!!!!
Thanks for reacting to this song guys! I was pretty young when this song was released. One of my fondest memories is of sitting on the stone wall in front of the playground with my cousin Cathy singing this song at the top of our lungs! Sweet memories of spending time with with family in a beautiful place called Gloucester, MA. That is where all of our extended family lived. We grew up in CT. Brightest blessings for the New Year. ❤️
Fun fact about this song: Three Dog Night almost didn't do it. They thought the line "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog" was too corny. Chuck Negron had a little faith in it and shouted the line at the beginning and it was so good they kept it.
I think the single/radio version fades out earlier than the LP version, but no matter. This was THE song of my childhood. It was everywhere and made everyone happy. I guarantee your grandma loves this song, my boy!
I know this nana does!
Out In The Country…my favorite song by them…
You really need to check out "Eli's Coming," it's amazing. Alex, I thought that the key change was going to kill the song for you. I'm glad I was wrong. Happy New Year guys!
One of my favorites by TDN -Eli’s Coming ( live 1975).
Always loved Three Dog Night. They made some amazing music.
This is S tier in context of rock & roll history.
I see people are recommending "One" and "Eli's Coming", both good songs. I'd also like to recommend their cover of "Easy to be Hard" from the musical Hair.
JOY to you both for this new year! Thanks for giving us joy every time we watch your videos!!!
The original song title, as written by the great Hoyt Axton, is 'Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog'.
Oh yeah! Gotta do Never Been To Spain!
It and Joy To The World we’re both written by Hoyt Axton, multitalented singer, songwriter and actor. He played the role of the father who brings the cute little fur balls in the film Gremlins.
One of my other favorites Axton wrote was Della And The Dealer which he recorded himself.
If you thought “ Jeremiah was a bullfrog” was the greatest opening line, well…..it is!
The opening line of Della And The Dealer and the chorus lyrics run a close second to it……
“It was Della and the Dealer and a dog named Jake
And a cat named Kalamazoo.
Left the city in a pick up truck,
Gonna make some dreams come true”….
Then the chorus…..
“If that cat could talk what tales he'd tell
About Della and the Dealer and the dog
as well
But the cat was cool, and he never said a mumblin word.” He also wrote two songs that Steppenwolf covered, “The Pusher” and “Snowblind Friend.”
He’s also famous in Country circles for the line
“Work your fingers to the bone - whadda ya get?
Boney Fingers - Boney Fingers from the song Bony Fingers
Gotta do the album version of “Liar”!!
"Out In The Country"
It's the first reaction video for the new year from my favourite gents! 😽
I saw them twice, in 71 and 73. They were a badass outfit, a real band with excellent musicians. Mike Alsup was a groundbreaking guitarist. They were a top 40 powerhouse.
I love Three Dog Night, but I will argue there is a better opening line to a song. It's spoken (not sung) but my vote still goes to "Fire" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. "I am the God of hellfire, and I bring you...FIRE!" Which, by the way, is another one of those overlooked gems that you guys need to react to.
Great Call!! Long forgotten tune!!
I remember the DJ in Grand Rapids, Michigan introducing the song before he played it saying he didn’t know why Three Dog Night would be doing a Christmas song. We were all pleasantly surprised. This song and Chick-A-Boom, Chick-A-Boom by Daddy Doo Drop seemed to be companion songs and made listening to the radio a bit more fun than usual.
I loved Chik A Boom
Chick-A-Boom! Oh the memories!
These are guys you need to watch a live video....they are funny on stage
More than a song, more than a band, you’re hearing the sound of an era. For those who were growing up then, this and “black and White” and “Mama told me not to Come”, “One”…this was the soundtrack of one of the greatest musical eras, where great bands were all over the radio.
You forgot one of my favorites. Old Fashion Love Song.
@@leetroy3129 wow, indeed I did…but they had so many hits lol
Doesn't matter if you like it or not, it's an anthem for the time... it's got to be an S tier song! Try 'One' is the loneliest number! Their best work!
Definitely S Tier - I’d even say S Tier PLUS! To say this is iconic would be an understatement. I’m shocked they never heard this before.
One or Never been to Spain needs to be next TDN
"Never been to Spain". Great song. Cory's singing kills it.
The Jury is in. We find the defendant, "Jeremieh was a Bullfrog", guilty as charged, as the coolest start to a song of all time.
I will vouch for Jeremiah...he was a good friend of mine.
It's hard today to appreciate what a big deal these guys were in their heyday. Bigger crowds than Creedence, more records sold than the Beatles was what the posters said back in the day (maybe I have that backwards). They were often dismissed as being 'too commercial', but I've always felt that making so very many hit records is a sign that you're doing it right. And it's very strange that we got to a point where not writing your own songs is considered a strike against you. Did Elvis write his own songs? Sinatra? Crosby? Nope. And they're all considered legendary superstars. 3DN should be too. Love them to pieces. And I think Floyd Sneed is one of the most underrated drummers ever. Listen closely to his work. No overdubbing going on there - he played it all in one pass. And without sounding like it, each line, each verse is a touch different from the one that came before. Magic stuff. I'm tickled that you guys liked it so much.
This song was _HUGE_ back in the day. Great reaction. "House of Broken Love" by Great White, please.
Me and two of my friends got up on stage and sang along to this song in 5th grade. Loved that our school let us do that. GREAT memories!!
I used to be a wedding dj...and at the right time...this song would always fill the dance floor...every age...
