Khabib Threatens UFC Over UFC 229 Brawl | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

  • UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Instagram on Thursday to express his disapproval with the dismissal of his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov for brawling with Conor McGregor at UFC 229. While many can sympathize with Nurmagomedov's anger, this continued onslaught of UFC stars being angry at the UFC is as worrying as it is bad for consumers.
    The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

      Khabib is a hypocrite. Says you cant talk about family or nations yet he and his team talked shit about Ireland and McGregors grandad. Khabib says what he did was over loyalty to his brother and team mates, at the same time being outraged at Conor for smashing the bus over his loyalty to Artem. Khabib says Conor is the bully but Khabib was the first to start throwing insults in every interview for months before Conor ever even mentioned Khabibs name. Then Khabib and his crew surrounded and slapped Artem, 10 men on 1.
      He says Conors team are bad for the sport, yet his team comprises of men that have convictions and upcoming cases for battery, assault, intimidation. Thats not to mention the other shady characters he associates with such as that terrorist manager Ali, the corrupt Chechen dictator Kadyrov who wants all homosexuals dead and the Russian billionaire Magomedov who funded him and is now in prison on embezzlement and fraud charges.
      Lets not forget Khabib wants music concerts banned in his country because he doesn't believe in western society but he is happy to work, live and take money from it. He doesn't believe in western society's freedom of speech and wants to tell YOU what you can and cant say. He also belittles homeless people by laughing at them whilst making them do pushups for money.
      This isnt the first time he has started a brawl in a crowd either, he and his team brawled in the crowd of the world series of fighting which spilled out into the casino amongst the public, he has no regard for innocent civilians lives.
      Khabib is the biggest hypocrite the sport has ever seen.

Khabib says Conor is the bully but Khabib was the first to start throwing insults in every interview for months before Conor ever even mentioned Khabibs name.

    The problem is Dana and his favoritism and commentators do not talk enough about this. Then maybe things might change with enough support.
    I used to buy every PPV since day 1, up until Dana started protecting Rousey, protecting her from Cyborg. I know...Dana always bashed Cyborg for juicing and such, but she's in the ufc not long after Rousy's departure. Who knew?
    Now we see the same thing with Conor. Selective fights, never defending his belts. This crap hurts other fighters and their chance to get a belt. I'm a fight/fighter fan and retired from kickboxing in 1978. I really hate this crap Dana is doing.
    Sure, Conor brings the PPVs, but it's because if all the hype put on him from Dana and comentators. We knew Conor sucked at grappling with Mendes, Diaz, and now Khabib. Guess who Conor will choose to fight more? Strikers, how much money Conor gets as a 1 dimentional fighter is mindboggling.
    I stopped buying PPV after Rousy's favoritism. I'll start buying again after Dana is gone, no more stupid interim belt fights because Conor runs off with belts, and only Conor gets rematches, not those who lose to him.
    Let's face it...who else gets a rematch for a belt with a 2-2 record in the last ufc 4 fights? Someone who Dana wants to give a second chance too...Conor, because he didn't like the outcome.
    I watch Belator now because it's better managed...better for fighters and fans.

      I remember Dana going on about Barnett how he sunk Affliction single handily and he'd been busted juicing 3 times and other shit and went on to say that he would never fight in the UFC again, then when they took over Strikforce he signed with them. Numerous fighters have had problems with him, Tito Ortiz couldn't stand him and was supposed to have a sparring match with him as part of a new contract then it never happened. Frank Shamrock has a long running problem with him but no one knows what it's about. I think a good move by them would be getting Dana at least out of the spot light, he kind of designated himself to be a celebrity but most people can't stand him.

      Smedly Dumpsterjuice, you lost me at “Dana protecting Rousey”. Where’s your proof that Dana White was “protecting Rousey”? If that were true, she never would have defended her title against Holm, it would have been Tate v Rousey III and who knows what would have happened then? Both fighters are retired, and we’ll never know. So again, where’s your proof?

    • @hotredtiger316
      @hotredtiger316 Před 5 lety

      Smedly Dumpsterjuice, as for Cris Justino, between getting caught and suspended for juicing after the Yamanaka fight in Strikeforce and getting flagged by USADA a year or two ago for what turned into a “therapeutic medical exemption,” nobody can say that the criticism and asterisks upon Justino’s fight record is unjustified. Nobody doubts that she’s a very skilled striker who trusts her stand-up game more than her ground game, but the PED usage trail is still going to haunt her; Justino has only herself to blame for that.

      @@yodaonthedrums Yeah, you have to pay guys who are bringing in the Ppvs or they'll go elsewhere and be a cash cow for someone else. Thing is though apparently McGregor got $3m, Khabib $2m but the event sold millions of ppvs. Not sure what their cut of that was but it looks like the UFC made a lot of money off those two guys, if Bellator are giving fighters a bigger cut they will start getting more of the bigger earners soon.

    • @yodaonthedrums
      @yodaonthedrums Před 5 lety

      Jimmy Nich Yeah I’m sure they both made well above what their disclosed purses were as I’m sure is the case with most of their PPV headliners, but as you’re alluding to it’s the overall percentage of the fighter payout compared to the revenue the UFC is bringing in that the main problem. The general consensus seems to be that the fighters are getting roughly 10% of the generated income where as in all other major sports, at least in the US, 50% seems to be the norm. I could be wrong but I doubt that percentage is much if any higher in Bellator. Even if not they at least have better sponsorship options and Bellator seems to be more accommodating and flexible with matchmaking and weight classes. Unfortunately this all comes back to the same problem though, there’s no fighter union or organization of any kind. There was a HUGE opportunity missed when the fighters had literally zero say with the UFC’s new ESPN deal. Now they’re just stuck in the same rut they’ve been in. Even though fighter discontent within the UFC seems to currently be at an all time high and Bellator is making moves in the right direction (but still a very distant second), short of the fighters actually going on strike I don’t see anything that’s going to help improve their situation.
