  • Conor McGregor took part in the post-UFC 229 brawl after Khabib Nurmagomedov jumped the cage to attack Dillon Danis. Some have argued it is McGregor who threw the first punch and the MMA media have ignored it. Is that true? No, it's not, at least not in the way it is being presented.

    Hey Luke. No one is saying that Conor is the origin on all of this. All the people are saying is that media made it look like Conor is just an innocent victim here, and people were condemning the allegation that khabib's team initiated the melee inside the ring. So they want to point out Conor was the one who threw the first punch in the ring. And they are saying that theres a possibility that if Conor didnt throw the first punch, the teammates may not have jumped in and melee inside the ring would've been prevented. That's all.

      Clearly you haven't been reading any of the comments... Either that or you are just plain ignoring them.
      Either way, Connor's punch was thrown AFTER Khabib went flying into the crowd like a mad man, and AFTER a person on Khabib's team was aggressively climbing the fence (a place he's not supposed to be) coming at Conor.

    Here's what ur missing Luke...the "conor threw the first punch" answer is to the question "why was conor in the altercation with khabib’s cornermen". During and immediately afterward, the reporting/commenting was that conor was attacked in the ring unprovoked and was a targeted victim. The fact of the matter is that without conor sucker-punching the cornerman straddling the fence the fisticuffs with conor would not have occured.

      Actually it was not just Khabib who attacked Danis. There was 2 other guys that attacked him by the time Conor was on the fence. I get why Conor hit the guy on the fence. Khabib and his crew of 6-8 guys cornered one of Conor's teammates at a hotel and slapped him prior to the bus incident. Now this is the 2nd time they ganged up on someone. Maybe Conor hit the guy to keep him from joining the fight on Danis. Either way Conor and that guy were restrained for several seconds before the guy attacked Conor from behind. Conor did not cause a 6 on 1 at the hotel, a 3 on 1 against Danis or another 3 on 1 against himself. That being said I am glad Conor lost.

      My take on that particular moment was that the older guy from Khabib's team was trying to get to Khabib to defend him and Connor for whatever reason wasn't having any of that. One thing is clear here. If not that punch, 2nd melee inside the cage may not have happened. First one meanwhile was contained quickly. And that's not trying to blame anybody, just stating the obvious.

    *sigh* I'll explain it if you want or not...Most of us were disgusted that Connor was attacked/amubushed in the cage while he was tired and beat up after the fight. That's what everyone was going along with, including the media. But then we realize, oh wait, before that happened, Connor was hitting some guy on top of the cage, and then he was attacked. No one, not a single person I've talked to, said Connor started the entire thing, the way you are saying in the video. What everyone is saying is that Connor would have been 100% left alone if it wasn't for what he did on top of the cage. It would have been between Danis and Khabib. Before it looked like he was blind sided/jumped for no apparent reason...almost as if this was all planned. But now, everyone sees that he was attacked BECAUSE of what he was doing. 2 totally different scenarios. It really had nothing to do with the melee outside of the cage at all, that's why you're so confused. If you are saying otherwise, please post the comments you're talking about, because I've seen zero saying what you said in the video.

      Ian Ross.Thats all fine what u said, but in my opinion, Even if it wasnt planned, they couldnt wait to punch connor, some of Khabibs Cornermans even promised to their fans, u can see them brag about it in their own videos. But still lets just assume they didnt planned it, after Khabib started the brawl, Connor jumped the cage cause he wanted to go down and help his people, and Khabibs brother jumped the cage as well very close to connor, I believe he wanted to attack Connor but before that he evaluated whats best to do can he help Khabib if he goes down or not, or should he start beating Connor up since hes so close to him, and thats when Connor hit him first in my opinion and either way if any of them can get down to Khabib and Dylen, they both would have start try to punch the opposite. Now whatever Connor did there, as bad it is, literally every Khabib team members wanted to do the same that was their intent, nothing proves this more than the fact that 3 of Khabibs guys went after Connor instead of tryin to help their main guy, Khabib. And if Connors act, that suckerpunch he threw u find disgusting, I find it much worse when 2 other guy run him down, one from behind. Connor hit one guy and than that one guy started to fight with him. It was a 1 vs 1, until 2 other guy joined. From that moment its more like a Lynch than a fight. Thats the worst of it all for me, you know interestingly u didnt see John Kavanaugh or Owen Rody start punching Khabib in the face after Khabib jumped Dillan. This gang mentality this barbaric shit thats the reason why that 2 guy needs to leave the ufc imo. And Im not mad at Khabib really, I understand why he did what he did, but his two mates, exclude Khabibs brother, but the two other, imo people should talk about them and not the fact that connor hit Khabibs brother, Khabibs brother hit back and they started to fight. The thing is if Conor never punched the guy on the side of the cage he might have never been attacked by the others and the media wouldn't have made him out to be as big of a victim as they did ( that's pulled back a little more now). It's also interesting because Conors purse wasn't held from him and isn't being told he could or will be fired. People bringing this stuff up I think are only trying to further prove the double standard. Also in response to Chaels point I'm pretty sure the guy on top the cage was one of Khabibs corner men that had entered the ring prior to Khabib jumping the fence because the fight had ended.

    The media (mainstream especially) isn't:
    1) Pointing out that Khabib's cousin was actually trying to get out of the cage, when Conor sucker punched him. Khabib's cousin was NOT going after Conor initially. Clear as day on the video.
    2) Calling Conor's behavior out as escalating the situation. They are instead portraying him as a victim, when again, he sparked a fistfight inside the cage.

    Than a Khabib teammate comes and wants to climb the fence too (very close to Conor's spot on the fence) and join the melee himself.
    Conor made two mistakes there:
    1st he should not try to climb anything, just stay in the octagon
    2nd if you want to climb the fence and you see an enemy that did not engage you and you don't want him to join Khabib to beat up your guys, don't punch him, GRAB him. But I guess it's the heat of the moment.

      What crack are you smoking dude? Can you not count? 1 comes before 2 and 2 comes before 3? Let me try and talk slow for you.... 1) Khabib illegally jumped out of the cage first and fly eagle kicked Conner's corner outside the ring. The Brawl and first kicks and punches start now! 2) Khabibs brother illegally jumps into the cage with Conner. They both jump on the cage top, Khabibs brother who should not be in the cage period, touches Conner's leg hanging over the cage top. Conner feels this, turns and punches the brother. 3) Two more of Khabibs team members jump illegally into the cage to get at Conner after that. Closing argument.... If there was no one attacking Conner's corner outside the ring from Khabib then NONE of Khabibs team would have never illegally jumped into the cage for Conner to punch. They would have not been in the cage! Conner can't punch an invisible man. Lets all be honest here and stop the bullshit. Do you think Khabibs brother jumped into the cage illegally to shake Conner's hand? Tell him good fight? Really? Its called, cause and effect, people. Deal with the truth. Now with that having been said none of this would have ever happened if Khabib had not slapped Conner's friend Arbal months before in the hotel in the back of the head. If this doesn't happen there is no buss attack because there is no reason for Conner to jump on a plane to retaliate. Cause and effect...

    I dont know even if Luke reads these, but this is how I saw it. There were 2 brawls. 1 outside and 1 inside the cage. The one outside no matter what was said to Khabib, it is all him to blame. The inside is another thing. The dude that got punched by Conor was inside the cage (one of the people in the fighter's corner) and then tried to jump the cage to get to Khabib (either to stop him or to help him, we dont know). If he wasnt punched the brawl inside the cage would never have happened. He wasnt hostile towards Conor until then, which is obvious by the fact that when he got punched he turned around to see who did it. And the other next 2 ones wouldnt have attacked Conor either. So the point that the media is missing is that the brawls were two. Each brawl started by each or the 2.

He went on this campaign basically saying Weidman got robbed and that he deserves a rematch (despite the fact Dana said Weidman wouldnt have won the fight regardless of what happened). This convinced me Luke has some sort of special interests to perpetuate certain narratives.
    It's hilarious how biased him and his (dipshit) co-host are. He says all bets are off, but then they are blaming the other two guys for coming after Conor after he sucker punches Khabib's cousin (Abubakar) on the fence. MMA media is a joke.

  • @javednasrati2692
    @javednasrati2692 Před 5 lety

    Here's the points that you are missing Luke, with all due respect:
    1) The medias bias is real when comparing the 2 fighters, and they try to dictate where incident timelines start and end. For example, when looking at UFC 229, most media outlets disregard the bus incident as an argument to justify Khabib's anger towards Conor. There is an expectation of starting from a clean slate every day, what's in the past is in the past and doesn't justify anything that happened after the fight. This is a moral philosophy that some people agree with, some don't. A lot of the media chose to disregard the bus incident and chose the timeline of the Brawl to begin from right after the match was finished. You yourself go on to say that McGregor had a right to atttack because "all bets were off". This is a clear indication that you chose that specific time of Khabib jumping at Danis to say everything goes now. But a lot of people feel that actually, the bets were off a long time ago, when the bus incident happened back in April.
    2) Khabib was painted with a bad brush directly after the brawl. He was blamed for his teammates attacking Conor as if he had premeditated and planned this from the very beginning, when all Khabib was thinking about was a one-on-one with Danis. Not saying Khabib isn't in the wrong, but his actions were reactionary, whereas Conor's were premeditated (bus incident).
    3) The media was in an uprorar because original UFC footage showed Conor getting sucker punched from behind. When that happened to Conor, it was "a disgrace to the sport", "absolutely disgusting" and there were calls for serious repercussions. When more footage appeared over the weekend from the audience, and showed not just Conor punching a member of Khabib's team on top of the cage, but SUCKER PUNCHING him, Conor is given a pass and his actions are explained away because now it's a "brawl", as you have done in this video. The guy Conor punched wasn't expecting to be punched, and he could have fallen off, broken his neck and died. In the bus attack, glass went into an innocent fighter's eye and he almost went blind. Yet what was horrendous to the media was Conor getting sucker punched, and even if he did get knocked out, he would have landed on the canvas, a much safer place to fall. The media, including yourself regularly repeat that it's horrendous that somebody can attack a fighter that's just done 4 rounds, always using that for Conor, but forgetting that Khabib also went 4 rounds. It's little things like this that lead people to believe that the media bias is skewed towards Conor

  • @MoSec9
    @MoSec9 Před 5 lety +1

    Luke you’re missing the point both you and Chael. Conor is not innocent. Period. People are not saying the other two guys are not wrong, but Conor started the shit in the octagon. This you see that? INSIDE THE OCTAGON. If Conor is not wrong because he’s trying to fight for his team, then you could say the same about the other guys who jumped into the octagon to fight for their team. Let fucking focus in the bigger problem of UFC and you the media who says there should be no red lines. Fuck that. For some people, money is not everything. Khabib made his point. There will never be another circus like that again I can assure you. Khabib promised to change the UFC and McGregor’s face on the same night and he did.
