- UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor have always had disagreements and an ugly rivalry dating back to the bus incident before UFC 223. We thought their dispute was mostly settled following UFC 229, even with the post-fight brawl. However, the two escalated tensions on Twitter as both sent ugly tweets to the other. McGregor made veiled insults of Nurmagomedov's religion and wife while Nurmagomedov made accusations about McGregor being tied to sexual assaults. Even since the recording of this video, tensions continue to be ratcheted up, but suffice to say, things have taken an ominous turn. Both fighters need to stop and outside forces like UFC President Dana White need to intervene even if the UFC is partly responsible for fostering the climate we find ourselves in today.

You see this sort of thing with fanatical football rivalries between two fan bases, Real Madrid vs Barcelona for example are heated rivals but for the safety of hundreds of thousands of people the players have a responsibility to not fan the flames of bad intentions.
