Lots of teams without superstars have won the Cup. Off the top of my head, among recent winners:
St. Louis
Carolina, both times
LA, both times
Boston
The list goes on.
For that matter, the Habs' last two Cups had a superstar, but he was in net.
Hello Guys
Really like content of the show
Keep it up
The Habs aren't going to have a Canucks turn around because the Habs haven't been drastically under-performing for the last few years, they've been rebuilding. The Canucks have straight up not been playing to their potential, this is basically the first year where everyone is playing to their strength, not just a line or two. Demko isn't letting them down.
Comparing the two is asinine and I pray for the MTL media who does.
As a life time Habs never thought would see the day that two teams in Florida are playing in the PO's and the Canadiens are out of the PO's again this year.
habs are out by design tho
Are you 7?
Your logic is ridiculous.
@1:04:40 why do you think its unlikely Calgary's pick is in the top 10 next year? It was a top 10 pick this year why wouldn't it be next year? they're not exactly trending upwards? I feel like Calgary's pick will definitely be top 10, Florida's definitely won't be and we will get Florida's pick, am I misunderstanding that condition? I would be shocked if Calgary's pick wasn't top 10 next year.
100% Calgary will be tanking next year. It would be pointless not to.
I think we dont do anything outside the draft except try to move Anderson. We can role with our top line plus Dach/Newhook/Roy, Devorak (Beck)/Armia/Gally. If they all hit, it could be good until the trade deadline.

what a banger
They had better get a hell of lot bigger and tougher tout suis!!
they did it with the captain
I don't think Matheson gets traded, not coming off of a career year...unless it is for something big.
For example.
Assuming the Habs don't get the first over all pick in the lottery, what would it take to get that first pick and take Celibrini? Would Matheson, and both 2024 1st round picks do it? Maybe another player and/or the Calgary 2025 pick?
Matheson is a local guy who eats minutes and scores a lot for a d-man. You do not trade him now
Pretty sure we're more likely to get the florida pick, no?
I have no doubt whatsoever that Hutson will start in Montreal next season. He doesn't have anything to learn in the AHL.
What’s the point of finishing 3 yrs in a row in the bottom 5 if you don’t get superstar players?
Would you still consider Huberdeau as a legit top 6 forward? If you do, I think there is a path - with maybe $3M in retained money - for the Habs to add someone like him.
If Calgary takes Anderson, I'm in.
I think he's too old at this point to be frank.
Caufield is not a top 3 forward for the next 10 years. Right now he is at his most commodity ... We should trade him + (Winnipeg pick + Harris or Evans or Kovacevic)... Powerforwards are not grown on trees. Power forwards are usually 6-2 and 210 pounds and larger. Pacioretty ....PLD ... Armia ...Necas ...Byfield are large but SOFT ... Not all large players are soft ....... If you cannot win a particular game with skill, speed, I.Q. , concepts .... then awaken your heavy hitters in your top 7 forwards.
Slavkosky is a powerforward in the making. He needs 2 more in the top 7 forwards on the Habs. Power forwards hit more than 7 hits per 60 minutes .... Svetchinikov ....B. Tkuchuck .... W. Cuyle .... Y. Trenin ...T. Frederick ...JT Miller ... L. Crouse ,,, J. Erikson are in this 7 + club..
Id argue that the 2 cups the Kings got were won without real superstar. Lots of very good player but not real offensive star.
Could Patrik Laine work? He's still young. Would Columbus take less because they would be relieved of his salary? Jets 1st and a 2nd , plus Harris or Engstrom.
That's an interesting idea. He is loaded with talent and is still mid-career.
@@gaqread if he turned it around like Drouin. It would be a great move.
@@mikepouliot3630 He's also big.
That intro song could be MUCH better
Dvorak is barely above average defensively at this point. On top with his offence being non existent. His trade value is below zero. Easily my least favourite hab, especially since he came in to replace Danault who represents everything Dvo isn’t.
I always start listening to these guys then within 10min I ask myself WTF are these clowns even talking about?
I think Houle should get the boot , of course the players would go to bat for him , they are allowed to do whatever they want , laval was the most penalized team in the AHL , they couldn't stay out of box, how can you expect to win if your best players are killing penalties. Get real !!
Hughes should give Houle the old heave ho , the lack of self-discipline of the group is on the coach ,
Simple fact !!
I hope Hughes replaces him , the only reason he's there is because he's french , facts !!
they got to get away from french speaking coaches
