I like how Regi also got hit by every malphite ult and flash inted into the enemy base, yet he is still flaming Turtle. I think we can confirm he is delusional.
Easier to blame someone else than admit your own mistakes
Regi was inting
Fucking turtle getting caught after game is already lost, even tho I greifed by flashing into their turret 1v5
@@KanohiVahi its a big part of why i think league crushed starcraft 2 into the ground so hard the mechanics are easier you dont have to memorise every build and counter as well as micromanage a hundred units and most of all you can blame your team in 1v1s alls you had was complaining about the units they played but its just on you.
To be fair if you are in the middle of teamfights later on as karthus get instakilled, zone the backline with passive and then ult, then you did your job. Dont need to dodge malphite ult. That said he had that awful flash, and got caught in sidelanes a couple times, which were prob the biggest mistakes of the games.
Mad respect to Turtle, he had a tough game, he played very well, he whole team was behind, his mid laner flamed him IRL, and the dude never said a negative word about Regi after the fact. Turtle is a great human.
Its the canadian blood preventing him from saying anything (a joke)
Regi PR team cut a check
link also looked like a very good TF
It's hard for anyone to talk shit to regi when he was literally the jackie moon of TSM. Player, coach, owner lmfao.
he was still protecting regi by being neutral about the drama.
(Regi flashes past mid inhib tower 1v5 and misses every skillshot.) Also Regi: We lost because of Turtle.
Regi seems to have also walked back how much blame he was putting on turtle - regi is just beating his horse and keeps moving the goal posts đ
I mean Regi apperently couldn't even hit his q's with the help of his pain gate and exhaust slows
And then you imagine his shit eating grin in the car after all of that too
If he had a zhonyas and a wave so the others would get the tower, it wouldn't even have been so bad.
But this is just insanity lmfao.
@@GoznerPeter nah, insanity's karthus was pretty good :P
Itâs still so wild to me that two people can just talk about someone who is right there & just not acknowledge them
Well I wouldn't place Xpecial who is defending Turtle in the same boat as Regi who is talking about Turtle as if he's not sitting literally inches away.
@@saintsataniko2116 thatâs a good point
ull see alot of wierd shit among people with zero social skills
To be fair thatâs what happens when your not a confrontation person. Though. I wouldnât have a problem talking shit right back. Did it when I was in the army also when leadership when blantently disrespect me
@@NoradNoxtus Anyone that has watched League for a few years knows that. You literally have millionaire players who all but physically curl up in the fetal position when required to talk to anyone outside of their bubble. I think it's changing somewhat with more money (and media training) entering the scene and less honest interactions being seen on film. Everything is closely vetted and scrubbed to present only the vision the owners want fans (and most importantly advertisers to see).
Totally agree with Dom. There was minor misplays from Turtle, but in general he navigated pretty hard teamfights really well. Dodge most of the key spells, kited well, and landed consistent dmg. Regi ran it down way harder than anyone else, barely hit abilities in lane, over-extened, and threw his lead away.
TSM never had a lead
@@lostn65 Regi had a huge cs lead
"-and threw his lead away."
correction: threw their lead away.
Also, the enemy team ran past 2 or 3 people to get to Turtle. I don't know if Turtle necessarily mispositioned, but TSM didn't exactly peel for him either.
Yeah Ill be honest, I watched this game during the stream and since then, I definitely misremembered what happened. I thought turtle was doing something like solo split pushing way too far up on the bot lane without vision and that's why they lost the game during the 4v5 push (may have happened in a different game), but the fact that Regi is going to blame the end on turtle is infuriating. I feel so bad for turtle. At this point in time, I already thought Regi was washed in the mid lane and it clearly showed this game. He had a huge head start in lane and TF ported on CD and still had even cs, and then INTS midlane when they were trying to siege.

Seems cool but he still enjoys the game and wants to have a personal understanding of the current game to comment with experience on the upcoming season.
giving you a thumbs up because i also would rather watch this.
I second this
I also would love to see dom rewatch more old stuff
Yessss!
I think that this VOD review was definitely needed. It showed that Turtle didn't play badly - if anything, he was playing pretty damn good considering everything that CLG had to throw at him. I saw FAR more times where Regi was just engaging on his own and griefing than any other individual mistakes. Dude was solo diving past inhib turrets into a full team to try to solo out a Caitlyn. Those fights bot lane where Turtle got "caught" by Malph ults, Regi gets hit by the same damn ults. This look back just shows that Regi was looking for a target to pick on and decided to go for Turtle because he knew he wasn't going to fight back.
TSM is a garbage bin org. It's no wonder they stopped winning when actual competition showed up.
Glad bjerg left, they donât deserve him
@@billyjoe8185 Same. Glad the greatest bjergking left them so they can rot
Does anyone else find it ironic that Turtle's career outlasted every single player in this game?
TSM never made it big because Regi was their mid for too long, all the other teams had good mid laners, it was always Regi performing crappy
Listening to this high pitched voice nerd talk for 28 minutes is beyond horrific.
seeing you talk about and basically teach some of us who didnt play then about old metas and mechanics and stuff has to be my favorite league content ive seen. i would love to see you watch old matches from early seasons and talk us through it all. 10/10 conent
That cho gath pathing tho. Blue, enemy blue, enemy red had me rolling đ
Oh boy - you'd have a blast seeing the ridiculous 4-1-0 metas and all the crazy duo jungling, duo mids, weird toplane picks, and sneaky xp strats that continually evolved over like 1-2 years... The drafts were fucking crazy as well, with toplaners and midlaners swapping roles constantly, and pick/bans fundamentally changing how the entire first 15 minutes are played. There was even a thing where people deliberately picked Karthus in toplane and died under tower. Riot only managed to snuff out the craziness by fundamentally changing how towers worked.
You'll understand a lot more about why towers have plates nowadays - and why there's so many weird ass tower mechanics going on with champion proximity, hidden armor based on time etc. It's all there, because of what riot learned back then.
I believe it was season 4 and 5 where this was a thing. I really recommend going back and watching old LCS/OGN games in that era. The casting was also a lot better both in EU and NA.. It wasnt just constant yelling. Deficio was just starting to transition from pro to caster under joe millers wing - and in OGN you had the most enjoyable duo of Monte and DoA for a mix of light hearted humor and (for the time) good analysis.
In OGN - you got to see the ancient gods of league - who are forever immortalized for being literally gods of the game in their time.
Madlife and Mata. Faker, Ryu and Date. Insec and Kakao... And all of it in glorious 720p.
Meanwhile over in EU you had XPeke, Ocelote, Alex Ich, Froggen and Bjergsen - all prodigies of their time playing each other in midlane.
You'll also see your fair share of AP Master Yi Pentakills.
There's a reason people look back at those days as the golden days of league. If you've seen the old gods of league back then, you can really appreciate their legacies. You'll recognize many a name floating around in the league sphere today - playing their hearts out back then.
I enjoyed the game more back then. This was 10x more fun.
You should try and find the MLG arena 2013 vods where azubu blaze introduces the western world to lane swaps
@@DP-sp9ym brother, watching fucking worlds back then only to see our favorite fucking toplaners be LITERALLY THE LITTLE JUNGLE CRITTER NOW for about 7 to 10 minutes until they FINALLY go to a lane and get level 6 at 15 minutes was soooo much pain đđđđđđ

Regi: "Regi its your fault"
Regi: "No Regi you dumb mf its your fault"
Regi breaking down "why they lost" feels like the ultimate soloqueue experience: the dude having the worst game on the team gets pissed when the person carrying makes a single mistake and then flames the carry for it.
"Yeah, I know I was feeding pretty hard, but you have to accept that as a given and get gud to carry. Hardstuck POS."
That actually sums it up so well, ugh. I really really hate that kind of situation and the people/players that create them.
and i wouldn't even consider turtle dying in these fights a mistake either. every single death except for the level 1 death was tf porting into the backline and gold carding him. and as dom pointed out, turtle can't get a qss this game because he needs a botrk to deal with malphite so wtf is he supposed to do against gold card? regi and dyrus sure weren't doing enough damage to allow turtle to go with a qss. regi's final karthus ult did about a quarter of doublelift's health bar. he was actually useless that game.
Regi is a perfect reflection of Solo Queue in many ways. Like his team was literally the top 5 guys in SQ at all times. There was no understanding or security except that you're playing with the rest of the top guys on your team.
@@Calkimchi A Regi today would be a 1000 games hardstuck plat player, just shows how bad people mechanically where back in the days, when an "Insec" was considered a god play while every Bronze Player can do it now, even without spell queues.
For people asking about the pink ward and stealth ward differences, pink wards used to show EVERYTHING that was invisible, but couldn't be revealed by anything other than oracles elixir or another pink ward, making it really powerful, but expensive at 125 gold each, with an expiration timer of a standard ward on it. It used to also not block vision on other wards, making it difficult to tell if there's any pink wards around.
Additionally, the reason this pink ward doesn't see the Y bush stealth ward is the pink ward when placed in the arm doesn't have line of sight into to the ends of the other arms of the bush. the line between the centers of the wards leaves the bush, then re-enters the bush so the game interprets the ward as trying to see into the bush from outside.
This is why you always placed your pink ward in the middle of the Y not in one of the arms, but obviously, people neglected that all the time, even in pro matches. As a support main carrying games by focusing on suffocating the enemy vision it was infuriating.
There was more gold in the game in those days since only 4 people were allowed to buy real items

@@xashy4335 I feel like he would even call it "zoning" Q just to have a reason to not be blamed for all those missed Q even with the wall + exhaust being used XD dude inted real hard and blamed the person doing well in the whole team for not being able to carry his inting. Dude was literally getting ff by 3 people that got a gap closer and only a thresh to rely on.
Wow Dom called us good. It feels weird. You're the only reason I still pay attention to competitive league anymore honestly.
Petition for dom to go through old season vods and teach us, maybe his own games he played and teach us old tech they did and if itâs out dated- was really cool to hear stuff like lane swapping and caitlyn trapping under cc being developed plus freezing and macro changes surrounding sidelaning. Overall a really cool video love it
The ironic thing is every "caught" thing Regi also got hit by the malph ult kekw.
When you're pissing off at work you need go do it behind your bosses back XD everytime regi died I bet he started looking for reasons to explain away how he could have been felled, maybe they would have had better strategies if he actually thought about the game :o
As someone who started playing league in 2018 and started watching proplay in 2020 I feel that honestly this 4:16-6:28 draft bit of the video is already so valuable, so much context about the meta that I wouldn't get from just watching the vod on my own, thanks Dom and editor for this content
One additional tidbit would be Jayce being highly contested during this split, usually getting banned or first picked
Could be flexed top mid
You missed the golden league times :
Reginald ACTUALLY scolded Turtle after this game? Holy cow. Regi on full int assignment... and he blames turtle for âgetting caughtâ when you could argue he didnât get caught ALL GAME. Thatâs a team loss as far as Iâm concerned. That TF ult was good af.
Link was insane
team lost? nah man regi said in the inting vid that they were 7k gold ahead and sure they could've gotten drag and farmed more CS but ezreal still got caught, this is literally him trying to dodge the fact that, when CLG was takign drag everyone was ready to contest but him, when mid inhib was open and there was a big wave crashing bot he decided to make the funniest call of contesting baron, and worst of all he called "let's group up mid and siege mid tower" then when their wave died he flashed in and tried to kill a 60% HP caitlyn and he also missed every fcking q so he was just actually fcking delusional cause they were 7k gold ahead and he blamed the game on turtle? when he inted and griefed the entire game and gave away the 7k gold lead they had LMAO
@@Mezha07 I'm wishing to see regi's reaction to his bronze iq plays He never was a good shotcaller. that's it, he had his moments maybe but it's far from being good and it's inconsistent
now we need a video of doublelift reacting to this video laughing at how bad regi is
@@Shreddasaurus He killed OddOne and barely got caught afterwards. The result turned out bad but Doublelift's play at least had a potentially good outcome if he didn't get caught. You can't put it in the same bag as Reginald flashing into the enemy base 1v5, that just inted the whole game.
@@Shreddasaurus âhis mistake didnât have the potential to throw the whole gameâ what do you mean? Regi playing bad the whole time is what caused TSM to lose. Especially when he got caught in the enemy base, TSM had the momentum the entire time and that play is what threw it away.
I mean it was the last time TSM stayed around the same gold as CLG, they have a free mid push, it is a 4v5 situation. Had regi not wasted his life, flash and ult there they couldve killed at least 1-2 people before Link TF ults or backs which wouldâve given them either a chance to end or a way better position the rest of the game
@@Shreddasaurus Reginald's int literally did throw the entire game. Have you watched the video? TSM was easily sieging 5v5 at that point, I think Dom even pointed it out. They would just win the game right there if Reginald didn't int and if they went slowly for all the inhibs and then the base with supers. I don't even think this is a hot take, unfortunately.
@@Shreddasaurus They're wrong, it was a big int by doublelift, but it wasn't game losing either, they won the game lol.

The fact that Regi went off like he did over a regular season game is kinda funny yet sad

Was Regi ever really a good shot-caller, or was he just the poster boy for "5 people following the same meh call is likely better than 5 people doing different things even when they each think it's best"?
This is why I always toted Hai above Regi. Regi got everyone on the same page and ppl just did it. Hai would see what they were doing and make calls ahead of time to exploit it. Seems simple but no one was doing it at the time.
This is honestly the first old game I've watched. After seeing regi flash under tower into the enemy base like that I think it just goes to show how inept you can be as long as your team goes with you most of the time.
I honestly believe Regi was in comms after that play like, "Uh guys I thought we were on the same page, 5 man flash for the game ending push at inhib turret. We just lost the game because you four didn't follow the call."

It feels so good when Dom remembers stuff about old league, I started playing around this time and it's so nostalgic
I mean if you really want make a case for the 'reason' TSM lost I'd say mid diff; -75 cs, 4/7/5 against 8/3/8. Inability to hold TF in lane or punish his roams while not making any big plays of your own. And, Reginald's team fighting was far from steller. That's aside from blown sums and ints. That was a team lose but IF you want to portion blame out it was like 70% on mid diff.
And Link was put behind 2 waves of cs before the lane even started
I think dyrus getting perma camped and not building/playing accordingly would be a bigger reason than Turtle as well. I'd say 40% Regi, 40% Dyrus, 10% Turtle

Edit: wait... CLG just played better than TSM... and im guessing the "catch" on turtle near the end was (at least IMO) more of "oh crap, TF ulti" and turtle had no outs. Plus Regi's solo flash in to the enemy team at the mid inhib was as Dom pointed out by far the most egregious then and top side did not catch a break with, and i quote Impact here, The Legendary "Top Die" of camping Dyrus. xSpecial had a point. Was a myriad of factors not just turtle.
Honestly when you said "Top Die" I thought you meant Impact lmao

It's not even Turtles fault on the pick, its the reaction to it. If they just finish there backs its a 1 man pick that just stalls the board back to even, maybe they get baron off it. Regi played like total shit that game, the lvl 3 tower dive where he turns on e to run out of mana for the final q and has to base with his dick in his hands is an infinitely worse play, andt then that hard int when they had free inhib into baron seige and he throws it means he really needed to look in the mirror on that one, Turtle outplayed Doublelift and kept them in that game.

Damn, League was so different back then.
I got so perplexed by the end that getting TF ulted and died was the âgame-losing playâ. I donât think even Uzi could outplay TF 1v1, or is there any way to escape this death without teammatesâ help.
Qss was the only answer possible and it's arguable whether Turtle should grab it just because he needed the extra damage from bork to have any hope of getting through the enemy malphite (especially when their ap mid laner missed all of his Qs and got hit by every malphite ulti lol)
the best you could ever do in that instance is go for a kill trade, but only current ez could do that. old ez didnt have enough damage with useless w.

I would love more commentary on old lcs matches. Cool combination of funny and informative from a historical aspect of pro play.
There is so much more control in the game back then. What i mean is damage is controlable. Tanks do no dmg, there is no free dmg that procs for 200+ and deletes you.
Everything is clean and predictable.

Because blaming Turtle for that game means he sees things other humans just can't see.
You can do whatever content you wish to do, and obviously you have Pro play vods that you review in real time, but I think my two favorite things I enjoy watching (and a decent amount of your community is)
1. Your personal gameplay
2. this video style
I honestly didn't expect to enjoy old LCS vod reviews like this to be as enjoyable as it was, but if you did some old vod reviews from famous games in seasons past, I bet you would get some good viewcount on those sorts of videos. I know I would watch them, at least.
your commentary on such an old game (to me) is so fascinating!
Now I see how Turtle has had a long career, you need a strong mental to deal with that
As a really big Turtle fan myself ( he's the one who inspired me to start playing ADC ), I've seen some pretty bad plays from Turtle before but nothing in this particular match falls under that category. There was a much bigger mid difference than there was ADC difference and Reginald should've focused on that instead of saying Turtle was the reason they lost at the end. For example, in that very same fight, if you pay attention to Reginald, he literally ran directly onto one of Caitlins traps that had been sitting there for at least 2-3 seconds ( so he had enough time to notice it there but still didn't ) and then got absolutely blown up by Cait and TF.
I love the CZcams content. You're only one of 3 people I have notifications on for.
i love this kind of content where people who played lol for a long time reminiscence the early seasons. starting at season 4 this brings back so many memories.
Super satisfying for this to resurface and get a vod review. It's almost like regi is an idiot who never knows what he's talking about.
He's literally the toxic teammate you get in solo que who runs it down and instantly blames one of his team mates. We all have experienced this kind of player.
Regi threw this game
Even when Turtle got "caught" they were still down 11k gold. The game likely going to be a loss anyway. I hope he apologized after they did VOD review but knowing Regi I bet he didn't.
Loved the video Dom, maybe more throwback content while league resumes?
I'd love to watch you VOD review some more older games so we can talk about how much LEague has changed. Maybe some games from S3/4 worlds or just some random ones from NA/EU. I really enjoyed this video for that reason, but the modern context was also good.
Regiâs whole point was kind of that they lost only because of Turtle. Xpecial was saying yes Turtle had the game losing play but, that play only mattered because they fell into a losing position due to other factors. He made the argument that if they had been 7k up in gold that play is not game losing.
Re-watching the game with Dom's commentary honestly is super eye opening on the magnitude of how much of a narcissistic sociopath Regi really was...The dude cant find faults in any of his mistakes and if anyones the reason for this loss honestly its Regi...Im pretty sure at this point Xpecial had done more damage than him...I mean its not that hard when youre flashing into 3 of them even though youre karthus...if you spend over 50% of the game staring at a gray screen you arent doing anything to contribute...
Thanks Dom! Good content! Appreciate you!
I want more reviews of old school league! This was great đđŒ
its sad that he is the foundation of one of the most successful LCS teams ever
the bjergsen import really carried the fuck outta this team
I gotta say it's the level of play/mechanics is pretty astonishingly different now, compared to what it used to be. Just seeing the micromovements now is markedly improved even in lower elos
haha omg the nostalgia... love old game reviews, wouldn't be mad to have more of it :)
damn i havent watched this guy for 3 years and this is the vid that brought me back lol. dom has always been a goof
The fact that Regi was actually inting repetitively and his opposition was dominating the game due to his non existence... the nerve to say anyone else was at fault for anything other than him lol.
regi has some serious "kid with anger issues" vibes
Mentally he hasn't grown since this clip.
Can't believe we finally get this video POG
Love the content Dom. Would love to see some solo queue content!
In conclusion : Reginald should never be this sucessful with so much shit in his head
yep adc gets abandoned, gets ulted on with no one nearby to help and its still the adcs fault, typical league bs, regi still hard griefed that shit, he might as well not have put any points into q and just maxed e and ran it down, at least then he wouldve actually been useful
Good video dom fun watching the pros from the old days
Thank you Dom, we appreciate u
Saw that comment too but never thought someone would actually do it, amazing!
Thnx for the content chief
Endless content loop of looking at iconic games/games Dom playes in.
This was entertainig af to watch on stream, leaving a comment to boost the algorithm ;)
Agree with the previous comments, would love more content like this!
OK you need to make more videos on old matches dude. That was awesome :D

Didn't know I needed Dom to go over 8 year old drama in detail but I'm here for it
would love to see dom review some of his old lcs matches and react to how he use to play
