Never “lose” a track again thanks to the Auto Relocate feature in rekordbox.
If the track you want to play next is missing because you moved it, rekordbox will search all locations within a folder chosen by you (e.g., your Pioneer DJ folder) until it finds the track, corrects the path, and plays it from the new location.

Yeah, unfortunately, this doesn't work as well as it does in the video! Well, it does for some songs. But, other songs, I get an error the "Track exists in the collection"... And, I can see someone else has had this problem! WTF?? So, it's telling me that it exists and that it doesn't exist at the same time, and the result is that I can't play the track anyway!!!! Any comment on this? Is this a known error that will be fixed?? WTF?? Thanks!
I have the same problem. With some tracks i just copy the location it gives you and replace the tracks one by one. If you don't have a lot of missing tracks it shouldn't take much time. OR it means you have a duplicate of that track. That's usually the case

For windows users If someone like me facing problem during relocation simply go to the settings of rekordbox then click on advanced then in the thrid column you can see auto relocate .... Checked the specified user folder and below add the location where your all collection located ..... Close it and try auto relocate again ....... ...BTW thankeww deep sir for the very important information ❤️
Thank You. Cleaning up my Library this week, wanted to move some files around but was nervous about doing. Moved 5 songs just to see what would happen.. and it led me here lol. Saved this video for future reference as well. Thank you. Rekordbox really is an amazing software.. Really wish We Could get it on Linux. Really Loathe Windows. Its the only Program I currently use for that OS...
why is the auto relocate search folder not even there. I click advanced settings and am in the database tab and i dont even have the option for it!

Mine shows them all... but says "track exists in the collection" and refuses to move them even though it identifies their new location.
People love to complain. I literally just installed Rekordbox, moved my entire library onto a computer I’ve never used for organising my playlists on as well as imported a Rekordbox backup and auto relocated thousands of songs in no more than 15 minutes. The fact I can even do this and I’m missing NOTHING has made it life saving. Thanks Pioneer. I will spend 3 hours going through vinyl trying to find just 1 great record. In the art of DJ’ing, these steps are nothing but simple and effective & do nothing but aid our success. People just want everything easy!

Datamanagement in RB is so bad. It's plain stupid how a simple thing as moving your DJ library can't be just a copy and paste thing. Links within the folder when moved should be intact but instead one has to go through these idiotic steps. Why? Poorly programming.

If only it was so easy. I've done exactly that 4 hours ago. I'm still struggling to make it relocate the tracks even though it's in the file rekordbox is supposed to search. If i manually relocate each tracks it works of course… :P But I'm too stubborn to do it for the other 900 tracks. In retrospect it could have been finished now. Sadly Rekordbox is still a software with a lot of flaws.

Manually Select the FOlder that you know its in from inside Rekordbox and it should find the file. If you changed the FileName it won't find it as its been changed.
Hello Guys, i Have my macbook on High sierra eand it works perfect but rekordbox 6 only works on catalina should i change it ?
This is a pretty good video, of course I had moved them all, and then you showed how to relocate just one, and I am like, dang, I need to have the missing symbol on all of them, and then you showed how to do that right when I was about to get annoyed! Good job for thinking it through instead of leaving us hanging for what we needed.

why isnt there a copy paste button for that missing files screen? I wanted to export my missing files list to a csv but even if i highlight and Ctrl-C it doesnt work!. smh
But mine is all saying file missing but then when I click relocate missing files it says all files exist???
Will hot cue points be saved by doing this or they will get lost in the process?

Where is it say auto relocate
When I press auto relocate a pop up shows that says file is found in this directory and I can only click OK, and even after that I still can't load my file into deck.
If you do not have this issue with other files. Then probably the file you trying to load is corrupted.
Try to download it again. If this is not the case, then unfortunately I either don't know 😐
@@gerardusgijsbertus6580 I have this same issue but the file plays in Mac finder window and in iTunes ok. If I drag the file from the finder window into Rekordbox then it shows a second record in Rekordbox and plays. I think there is a bug with external drives and libraries on external drives. I'll try exporting library to RB5 relocate, fix it then bring it back to RB6.
What possible reason could anyone have for thumbs downing this helpful ass video?
It doesn't work, computer A - backup library + music, computer B - restore library (all files missing), set autorelocate directory to where rekordbox backed up the music files and auto relocate - all files still missing.
What I would like to know is why I am continuously using auto relocate to find tracks that have always been in the same folder??!!!

Why cant I do this for an entire playlist? Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. You can highlight up to 4-5 tracks and auto relocate them but if you highlight an entire full sized playlist with hundreds of tracks those options do not appear...
EDIT: For some reason right clicking all highlighted tracks it doesn't provide the "Relocate" functions. You have to go to the "Track" menu dropdown and they "Relocate" functions will be at the bottom. Really dumb UI...

In Recordbox 6.5.2 Auto-Relocate function dont work propertly! Some Tracks it finded, but a lot of music is playing wrong audio files! This is terrible! You go to the party... selct track, load it... but all you hear is wrong audio... becouse program select the sample from my sample library, not the original mp3 track! I'm having the same issue. It appears to be a bug when using an external drive, moving the library to that same external drive, all songs are in one folder and the relocate directory is pointed to that directory. I think this is a bug. Doesn't work for me (some files but not all).
@@muco007 the problem was solved by copying database in internal hdd in one file. Without copy separately files and database.
