Regarding exporting playlists to flashdrive. If you already have a playlist on your flashdrive named e.g. "House 1" and you have a playlist in Rekordbox named also "House 1" but with new tracks and then you use the sync manager to update the playlist on your flashdrive with the new tracks, will it erase and replace the playlist in the flashdrive with the playlist from Rekordbox or does it only add the new tracks to the playlist?
Good question! I like to think of Rekordbox as being a direct representation of what's on my flashdrive. That means, when I import songs to Rekordbox, I name the playlists the same, and have all the same songs for both the flashdrive and in Rekordbox. In your situation, if you added songs to a playlist called 'House 1' in Rekordbox, when you sync, it will create a playlist that's only accessible by Rekordbox compatible products (CDJs, etc) of that same name. That playlist will have your songs with the beatgrids, tempos, comments, and any organization that you used in the Rekordbox program. It will not affect the raw track files that are saved on your flashdrive. Again, that's why I like the playlists I create in Rekordbox to match exactly what I have saved on my flashdrive- so I always know where I have files backed up. Let me know if that answer makes sense or if you need a different explanation.
@@vibralocitymusic No I meant I have, in my USB, playlists that I exported from Rekordbox (not raw files) from an older computer. Now I have new computer that I've installed Rekordbox on and I've been getting new music. So in my playlists in Rekordbox, there are only new tracks. I want to update the playlists on the USB with this new music. If I use sync manager, will it erase all tracks from the USB-playlist that was created from the Rekordbox on the older computer, or will it simply add only the new? Hope it makes sense. Edit: Because up until now I've been manually dragging the new tracks from my Rekordbox playlists to the USB.. not very fun.
@@DJayDNA Ohhh, I understand now. So, I've had this issue, and the only way I've found that worked was to drag all my raw track files to a new flashdrive, then analyze all those in Rekordbox, then add new songs from there. Rekordbox is funny in that it only wants each flashdrive to be paired with one instance of Rekordbox (computer device). I have not found a workaround for this, unfortunately. Apparently you can use a program called Resilio sync, but I don't have any experience with that. You can also consider using Rekordbox cloud storage, which would solve the issue, but it is pretty spendy ($20/month I think)
@@vibralocitymusic Got it. Thank you for taking your time. I've set it up now that I create playlists in my "Collection" in Rekordbox and then I drag manually all the tracks in the playlist to the playlist on USB. Because I noticed that if I choose to "export playlist" it deletes all the tracks on the USB playlist that are not in the Rekordbox playlist. Whereas if I manually drag the tracks it at least asks me if I want to skip tracks that are already in the playlist (on the USB).
When you say play after each other, do you mean autoplay through a playlist in Rekordbox? If so, you will want to just select 'Simple Player' which is in the dropdown menu where it says '2 Player'. That's it, when you hit play, the tracks will autoplay one after the other. There's a screenshot if you visit this site: www.deejayplaza.com/en/articles/rekordbox-continuous-play-tracks-playlist

Hey Im trying to specifically order my playlist but I can’t select reorder track number under playlist to have the “#” symbol appear. Do you know why this is?
Hey there. If the # symbol isn't appear, you can right click anywhere in the column heading section and make sure that the symbol has a check mark next to it. Then you can left click that symbol when it is in the column headings and it should organize by track number! Hope that helps.
Can you search for a playlist or folder? Like you named a folder "Must Play", but you can t seem to find it in your tree list on the left, you forgot where you put it. Can you search for folder "Must Play" ?
Usually the search is just used for tracks in your collection. If a playlist isn't in the tree list on the left, then it may have gotten deleted. All playlists should be there always.
Hey mate. I'm in a bit of a fix. My music is all in order of key in my Rekordbox library, but when I export it to my usb, it changes the order. How can I rearrange my music according to key on my USB? Please let me know. 🙏 Would really appreciate it.
What's probably happening is that you need to click just one of the tracks in the playlist, then go up to the menu bar and click 'Playlist' and then 'Renumber Track Order.' That will change the order of tracks when they are exported. Let me know if that works!
That is a setting you will control using Rekordbox. Go to 'File', then 'Preferences.' Click on the 'DJ System' tab. Then click on the 'Sort' tab. You can add any categories you want to be displayed by your controller into the 'Active' column. You can then change the order of those as well. Let me know if that works for you!
No need to apologize. The library, or collection as Rekordbox calls it, is not really meant to be organized. It just shows the songs in the order you imported them, I believe. You will want to create a Playlist and then click the "#" column heading, which will allow you to freely move the tracks in the Playlist. I am planning to make a video on set prep, which will include creating Playlists, in case you don't know how. It is pretty simple though- just look in the left hand menu section, hover over the 'Playlist' heading, then click the little + sign that appears. Then you just name the playlist and drag songs over from your flash drive. If you're wanting to import your entire library into that playlist, you totally can! Hope that helps :)

I notice that this happens when you change what playlist you're looking at and don't click any of the tracks. To solve it- just click any of the tracks in the playlist so it's highlighted, then go to your menu and click 'Renumber Track Order.' Try that and see if it works!
Yes- first you will want to right click on the column headings and make sure 'Track Number' has a check mark next to it. Then, you will find that column (usually marked as '#' and click it once so that the songs are organized by track number. Then, you can drag the songs around to be in any order you choose.
