    My Rekorbox shows that all my tracks are missing every time i restart the rb app again. even after auto relocating them. If I quit rb and open again I have to start again the auto relocate. It doesn't remember where my tracks are after I quit the app. This suddenly happened after I updates my Macbook Pro OS. Do you know how to solve this problem?

      You'll need something like the Rekordbox Collection Tool for Windows for this to work, but that doesn't exist as far as I'm aware.

    Hey G, I have an issue, I have the pro subscription and I ended up doing the Dropbox backup. But I opted not to allow Dropbox to save on my MacBook Air because it was taking up a lot of space, so now I get the “!” But when it goes to relocate it still doesn’t find it. I may be doing something wrong. I do have the drives but I didn’t have this issue before.

    I have a big problem with the latest MAC OS version in combination with Dropbox.
    The latest OS requires that the location of Dropbox is in users/name/Library/Cloudstorage/Dropbox
    What happens now is that the file path for my collection is like this:
    /Users/name/Dropbox/Muziek Rekordbox/NL/Avicii - Levels.mp3
    But when I add the folder containing the mprs it doesn't recognize it as existing files and adds them with the following file path:
    /Users/name/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox/Muziek Rekordbox/NL/Avicii - Levels.mp3
    This has doubled my collection, where half of the collection doesn't have any history information like DJ played count or isn't in any history of gigs and/or playlists.
    Can you advise on how to deal with this?

    Hey, thanks for the video. As usual, solid stuff.
    I am observing something very interesting with my RB library. I am trying to flatten my folder structure and keep all my tracks in a single folder. So, if I change from Music/DJ Library/2022/Track.mp3 to Music/DJ Library/Track.mp3 RB struggles to relocate the file. I've tried auto relocation with the new folder to the specified folders in the advanced preferences menu. I've also tried manual relocation. None of these methods work and the track remains missing unless I move it back to it's original folder. I also tried to move the file to a usb stick and the same problem occured.
    Would you have any idea what could be causing this? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    P.S. I've tried this wil multiple tracks and none of them successfully relocated.

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před rokem

      Yes I know what the problem is, and not easily fixable. Rekordbox uses the so called inode number of the file for relocation.
      If you move the file on a non macOS formatted drive then it uses the filename. If that filename is not unique it will struggle with the relocate. So what you'll need to do is rename the audiofiles to something unique, relocate without moving them (the inode number stays the same) and then you should be able to move them to whatever you like.

      @@MixMasterG hey, thanks for the info. I tried moving a single file to an external drive that I formatted on a windows machine (I guess that's what you mean by non macOS formatted drive). ik heb een nieuwe pro license van rekordbox waar je je backup op dropbox kunt zetten. nu ik dat gedaan heb is mijn volledige externe harddisk gewist! ik heb voor kopie gekozen dus deze zouden eigenlijk gewoon op de drive moeten blijven staan.
    nu zou ik dit graag recoveren, maar dropbox slaat alleen de losse nummers op en niet de playlisten die ik heb gemaakt. hoe kan ik toch een playlist recoveren vanaf dropbox? ik kan dit nergens vinden hoe dit zou moeten kunnen? please help 🙂

    Why can't I auto relocate hundreds of tracks at once? The option doesnt come up when many tracks are selected...
    EDIT: For some reason right clicking all highlighted tracks it doesn't provide the "Relocate" functions. You have to go to the "Track" menu dropdown and they "Relocate" functions will be at the bottom. Really dumb UI...

    No i don't get how to solve the "Track exists in your collection" issue. I have an external hard drive and I copied the whole external drive content into another folder inside my computer. Then I disconnected the external drive and tried to auto relocate all the files pointing it directly to the folder where I copied it. ... But I still get the track exists in the collection error. I dont know what to do. In fact I have all the files on my internal HD , BUT if I delete all the files that the path is pointing to the not existing external drive, I will delete it from the playlists I created with the old path/file instead of replacing them and I dont want this....
    Pioneer is so stupid sometimes! :( What is the purpose of the error message "Track exists in your collection" ??? Well I know that Sherolck, that's why I asked you for relocating the file and pointed to the new path where I wanted it to be relocated. Rekorbox is frustrating.... I thought I'll get over it in terms of switching from Serato but it is a frustration every time I try to manage my collection.

    • @MixMasterG
      @MixMasterG  Před rokem

      The audio file for each track in a Rekordbox collection needs to be on a unique filepath. If an audio file is missing, and the candidate audio file for relocation is already part of the Rekordbox collection, you get that error. It's how it works

    • @MentalBlue
      @MentalBlue Před rokem +1

      @@MixMasterG Yeah, you're right. But solving this is not possible without disrupting and damaging playlists. This is crazy how Rekordbox did not think this trough.

    Yes... but there are no identical files in mine.. it is reading a path of a drive that isn't even connected, and when the clear path is specified it still does not move them as it does in your example (says file already exists while it simultaneous says it is missing right after showing its exact NEW location!) .... what it sees is multiple file paths, not multiple files. All these file paths are identical (from the old location). It is the exact same file path in multiple playlists all pointing to ONE file. Then, when directing this "lost" file to the correct file path it says "file is already in the collection" ... we are not adding files here, we are editing file paths! Rekordbox logic is severely flawed. There is no way to override it or direct edit the file path. The Only work around I found was to add the newly moved file to each playlist it is in (thereby writing its correct file path) and then manually delete the one that refuses to be edited. This is absurd, as it would be a simple script to add: When manually relocating: when the file is selected, add it to the playlist then delete the old one, then prompt, would you like this file path for all playlists in which this file is found Y/N.... BUT manual relocation existing in the first place still suggests a scripting incompetence much further up in the design tree!
