The doubling and halfing bpms helped me a lot. Gonna use it tonight when I fix music I need for Saturday. Bpms are doubled when I know the songs are around 85-95 bpms

set your 1 on the grid at the drop then use the left arrow to jump back 8 bars, then hit C for cue and M for memory, then do it agian at 16 bars, then do the same at the end of the track.

That BPM doubling tip will be useful, Since coming back to DJing after a loooong time away (early 2000s with CD) I have stayed away from a genre I used to play a lot - Happy Hardcore as it was analysing them wrong. Although current genre of choice is Nu Disco. Third video I've watched since discovering this channel. All been excellent stuff, mate! Subscribed!

That bar setting shortcut is useful, most of the keys I didn't really find it useful as I connect my controller as I do my prep (post analysis and auto cue generator). Part of that real prep is also checking those generated cues if that's what I want/need. Nice sharing though!
Ah yes having the controller connected can help with some of these. Unfortunately mine is a pain to get out/set up so most of my prep is done on the laptop. Thanks for sharing!
Good video. I am so lazy with track prep. Happy to just load them and get on with it. I go between Rekordbox including USB prep and Serato and as I mix some older soul music I can't face beatgridding - especially when all newer songs can be easily mixed with BPM showing, but after this I will start doing some more and make use of all the software features.

I'm contemplating making a switch from Serato to Recordbox. You video have been very helpful. Thank you. Would you have any idea why the pad mode is grayed out when I use my rev 5? I'm subscribed and everything.
Unfortunately i don’t believe the rev 5 is supported for pad mode, you will have to go the MIDI mapping route if you want to change things up

Both modes use the same beatgrid info if that's what you mean - but they both use diff keyboard shortcuts that you can tweak in prefs 👍
Hi, the song bpm keep change as the song goes up or down. What could be the problem?😢
Is there a way to keep the bpm and key the same? I notice if you try to do the lowest BPM to match the key it changes. Is there a way to keep them the same within rekordbox?

Went to go add the double/halve bpm hotkey and the option appears to be missing from the keyboard preferences in version 6.8.1 😫 I'm literally looking at both decks right under BPM and TAP like in your vid and it's not there. I have Undo/Redo instead. I have double and halve LOOPS, but not BPM value. (on Windows btw)
Diving into Rekordbox, really nice video. Thanks. Question: how precisely are you zooming in on the waveform and checking later parts of the track when beatgridding? In Traktor I would zoom in 100% and set the grid to the exact peak/position on the waveform.
on the left hand side of the waveform is a little arrow, clicking on that will pop out some zoom/in icons
Hi. Great tips. Option 3 for setting the beat grid on track one, but what about track two?
Option + 8 should do what you're looking for!
If you change your bpm range when importing, you can set it to exclude everything below a certain bpm so it won’t read your dnb as half time.

How did you get the green boxes around the keys like 10A? And what does that green box mean?
This is the key matching highlight feature that shows you tracks in compatible keys to the track set as master. You can turn it on in preferences :)
Are there shortcuts for memory cues too?
And how do you get the keys of other tracks highlighted that are harmonic with your selected track? I just noticed the harmonic keys were highlighted in green depending on the track you were working on.

How can you organize a set from song 1 to song 20? First track, second track, third track etc. Or from low BPM to high BPM then export to USB and then being to play in CDjs and see the tracks in those orders on the display.😅
Cdjs will retain the playlist order based on the track number, make sure that column is showing. Any sorts you apply like bpm won’t be preserved
Chris, please tell us how to remove duplicate tracks in Rekordbox. Do I just have to delete the entire library and carefully re-import folders and tracks making sure that I do not import the same files?
Unfortunately I don’t believe there is an automated way to do this. I do it on an ad-hoc basis whilst i’m playing (controller based) - if I notice a dupe i tag it with an ‘ignore’ tag that I created, and then use smart playlists to exlude any that match the ignore tag. Bit of a hack and not perfect but it works ok!
Could not get the option 3 to work ? Do you have to select the track first?
The track needs to be loaded to deck 1 in performance mode 👍🏼
My key section is not as harmonic wheel but like notes Am, Ebm etc. How to fix that?

For the grid, the “option & 3” works only for deck 1 ? Tested with a ddj1000. Tried on deck 2 . Am I missing something 🤔
There's normally a different shortcut for Deck 1/2. The corresponding one for deck 2 is Option + 8 :)

Im not sure if this is a bug..but when keyboard map the set 1.1 Bar it use the set the bar to the nearest grid point not the current position. in the keyboard mapping there is not other option so not sure if I am missing something or you think this a bug?
Sounds like you need to turn quantises off or to a smaller division then 1 beat 👍🏼
I turned quanitize off and its still the same.. I think it's a bug. when I click on the red and white bar it works fine.. but with the keyboard mapping it reacts like you're clicking 1.1 Bar. When correcting the beat grid this does not help because it snaps to the exist grid. Hope this make sense. Im going created TT with Pio for this..@@ReallyChrisM
Is there anyway that you can make the Track, Key and Artist name bigger on playing tracks?
I can make the browser names bigger, but can’t find a way to make this info bigger.

are you not aware that there’s literally an export mode in rekordbox that makes all this way easier?
How so? It makes the player window bigger but still is essentially the same interface to correct the grid, add cues and so on. Happy to hear if there is a better way to do things :)

how is this faster lol? this is how it should be done
if you want to do things faster use mixed in key, why would i hand set every cue point when i can run thousands of songs at once through MIK and have multiple cue points set on them all with a single click
How do you get other keys high lighted? I found the configuration but it doesn't work.

And how do you Mix when you are not setting Memory Cues and only one Hotcue per Song? I could never 🥹
