The problem here is trying to be freestyle funny when he's not funny. He could've jotted some ideas down. I was a Bestman once and you know what I did? I prepared my guideline of stories, jokes, and endearment to remember and work with freely. Before going up live with it I read it to the groom who said "No, no... surprise me".. to which I said "Its your wedding day, suprised can be a bad thing".. Russ I trust you that's why your my Best.. Thanks but I'm still gonna read it. He said it was fine. Personally his opinion was the only one I cared about. If it's good enough for the groom it's good enough for everyone else.
Oh my God this sounds like something my boys would do to each other when they’re older. Hopefully by then they will have learned to show love to one another but I guess I need to learn it first. We all love each other, just have a hard time expressing that love in words.
@jay acting confident may help if you’re a little nervous but if you’re full blown paper bagging it, you may end up overdoing it and coming across as arrogant or your timing will be way off. If you reveal you’re nervous it can make you more relatable and also takes the pressure of having to hide it off - which can in turn help you relax!
