Anita Biot I agree. It must suck for a girl. A girl might love a man and still not be ready for marriage and when she rejects a proposal it must be hard to continue a relationship with the man even thought she wants to get married in the future
You can just see from the women's body language how much they don't want what's coming. Note to everyone - men and women: DO NOT PROPOSE IN PUBLIC unless you are 100% sure their answer will be yes (meaning you've discussed marriage beforehand and you know they like public displays).
JL Davies Absolutely. My fiancé proposed at a restaurant, but we’d talked about it for over a year and I knew the proposal was coming *eventually* , I just didn’t know how (and he knew I was totally onboard with something public). It turned out absolutely magical, but if I were a shy person, or if we hadn’t talked about marriage, then it might have been a total fail.
@@ushoys Unless they discussed it with their girlfriend beforehand and she was enthusiastically onboard, there's no way they could have been 100% sure.
lol tbh if I didn't wanna marry the guy and it was in public I'd faint so I could atleast turn him down in private later. ((but also idk wh yid be with someone who I couldn't picture marrying))
A lot of the people in the comments are right - there are multiple conversations that need to happen before you get to a proposal to avoid feeling humiliated in front of a crowd. Marriage absolutely needs to be discussed before any sort of proposal. You can’t spring that on people out of the blue. Make sure you’re on the same page about where you want your relationship to go. There are a lot of things people may want to talk about or experience before feeling ready to get engaged. It’s also beneficial to talk about what kind of proposal you want/your significant other wants long before that day comes. Some people may want a public proposal, and that’s okay. Some don’t. Ask the person you want to propose to a while ahead of time what they want, or if you would be the person getting proposed to, speak up and say something about your preferences. I made it extremely clear to my husband on multiple occasions that I did not want to be proposed to in public, so he was respectful and didn’t propose in public. Granted, there will always be some people who have a change of heart when the question is finally “popped,” but a lot of these public letdowns in the videos could definitely have been prevented. I wish these people the best of luck in the future and hope they get their happy endings.
If I propose to a girl I'm doing it in private so I don't have to live with the humiliation if it's a no, and if she says yes then the fact no one else is around would make it more special.
Come on, getting married and spending the rest of your life together should be a decision you've discussed and agreed to, rather than a yes/no question in public when one person out of the couple feels like it.
I agree. I bet some of these people didn’t run away because they said “no,” they ran because they were overwhelmed and needed time to think about it and *talk* about it *IN PRIVATE*
@@troywright359 And that's not the same in public how so? I'd much rather an honest and realistic answer than pressuring someone into a decision she doesn't want to commit
9:04, I’m so sorry, but this one has to be the best one. The poem, the band, the random singing train, and the ukulele slam to the head to top it all off. *italian hand kiss thing* marvelous.
When you propose in public in front of a crowd you aren't being romantic, you are forcing her to either give you the answer you want or look like the bad guy. Proposing in front of a crowd makes it about you, which means you just don't get women yet and aren't ready for marriage.
Sure, if that is the case. Often times it seems more about putting someone on the spot so they cant say no. If you are constantly telling your man you want him to propose, then yeah, nothing wrong at all with it. As we see in this video and 50 more like it, they don't know the girl is going to say yes.
It's not proposing in public that's the problem and that's where people like you are mistaken. The problem isn't proposing in public, the problem is proposing at the wrong time. It's not proposing itself that should be the surprise but WHEN you propose. What I mean by this, is you should already know she will say yes before you do it. Most couples will have already talked about possibly getting married after being together a while, so by that point you should already know the answer. People don't propose in public because they want to force an answer they do it because, yes, it is actually romantic (when done right). People just forget to make sure it's actually going to be a yes first before doing it, hence this video.

Pro tip, guys--a surprise proposal out of the blue might sound romantic, but getting married is a big deal, and if you haven't talked about it with the girl, she might freak out, and rightly so. But even more than that, never, never, NEVER, put her in the position of making the biggest decision of her life on TV in front of tons of people. It's inconsiderate, presumptuous, and it leads to public humiliation for all involved. Don't do it. If you want to marry the girl, TALK TO HER. You don't have to disclose when and where and how you're going to propose, but if you're going to be married, you need to be on the same page. True for the proposal and for the rest of your lives together.
Beautifully said. I agree 100%. But there is one huge thing that bothers me a lot and that is " together for the rest of our lives". Who can guarantee that any marriage, or anything in the world, will and can last for the rest of one's life? That is an empty and cheesy phrase. Nothing is for sure except the fact that the only person you will live for the rest of your life with is you with yourself. That is actually the only thing that is carved in stone.
You are right -- shame on someone for not watching that baby more closely -- falling from that distance off a table can cause brain damage to an infant!
I didn't so much ask as dare my wife to marry me. She took the challenge and 20 years strong. Mad respect to those that say no though. It shows me that at least a few people out there still value marriage and how serious it is.
I actually think anyone who proposes in public DESERVES to get turned down. It's incredibly manipulative. It's like "she won't say no to me in front of all these people". It's pressuring her to say yes. Plus it's so invasive, in what should be a private romantic moment, not a freaking theatrical production. I guess I'm weird but I would just say NO. (My husband proposed to me on Valentine's Day, in the local paper's Valentine's messages, which he knew I liked to read. He knew I'd find it. )
" So he still proposed you publicly and you accepted it? " There wasn't an audience to know the result, that removes the manipulative part of the public proposal.
Absolutely the most dead-heart robot-like proposal, right? Yah...not so sweet was exactly what I was thinking. What's with proposing after 3 months too? Super weird.
Proposing is supposed to be a very special, once in a lifetime thing, by not thinking it through and asking her in a crowded mall after eating greasy mall food court fast food tells me he's going to take the marriage/relationship just as seriously. It's not a good sign, to me. Personally I would rather be asked in private and I have the feeling some women said no because they felt pressured and uncomfortable by the crowds, but that's just me. If you're going to make it public, don't ask in a stupid manner/place, or don't get married at all ... why do people even get married anymore?
I am a married guy, father of a wonderful daugher. Me and my wife took the decision to spend our lives together, well... together. We discussed it a lot before announcing it to anyone. Why do people feel compelled to propose in public ? It's a very tough decision, that will change your life forever. Don't expect your partner to take it on the spot in front of everyone, without the time to properlly reflect upon it, without the time to talk to you about it. Don't transform this commitment into a little show just because it makes a better story.
Widemore well it's also cause not everyone takes marriage or hell relationships seriously anymore. Which is pretty depressing. Not all. But these people do exist.
I hate when guys trying to propose a girl in the public places. If u really love someone , propose her in a private environment so both of u enjoy the moment.
Can we NOT normalize public proposals anymore please? Its such an immature and unrealistic progression into a marriage that it needs to stop. Most married couples usually talk about it before they put a ring on. None of this one knee down and open the box bs. Sheesh, my Fiance and I just bought each other rings and off we went to plan our marriage vacation and life. No public proposal. No seen. Just priorities and adulting.
There are 3 rules to follow for a marriage proposal, 1. Keep it private, don't make it into a public show. 2. Make sure you've discussed marriage a good deal. 3. Actually date this person for long time(more than 2 years) and that you really know each other.
The only times I think it's okay to publically propose to someone is if you're absolutely 100% sure the other person is going to say yes anyway, otherwise you risk publically humiliating yourself, and you're putting unfair pressure on the other person to say yes.
MuffinTails exactly, like personally I would love to be proposed in public since I’m more of a social and extroverted person but there are some people out there who are more shy and introverted who would probably hate being put in this situation.
I'd like to believe in most cases, wanting to get married is already a mutual feeling before one partner proposes, it's just a matter of when it happens and the couple is ready for the commitment. Two people who've been together long enough have discussed their marriage plans already and how they hope their partner might propose. Hopefully the only surprise is when it happens.
Hint from a married guy. My wife doesn't even want me to tell a restaurant that it's her birthday. Think about it......... yeah. You picking up what I'm laying down? 😉
Mace S yeah I understand all of it. Tell everyone in the restaurant, or wherever you are. Get a megaphone, a band to play music, also get a janitor in the background moping the floor. Then have her hit you with a guitar because she is embarrassed, and then have her walk off like it’s no crime at all. Everyone word😉
She said no don't do it and he didn't listen to her wishes. That shows just what a guy he is. Don't fucking embarrass people like that, how manipulative do you have to be?
LOL, i'm not "protecting" her, i'm just saying don't be an idiot and publicly humiliate someone. Watch out for what you deserve. She said no and he proceeded without caring. Besides, people have said it was staged.
challengerunner and I’m smart enough not to do that in public, I was joking about everything I said. Except when she hit him, it’s not okay even if she got embarrassed. It’s okay if it was staged but not okay if it actually real.
Can I just say the most awkward ones are when you go “hey everyone can I have your attention” i mean if you have family around that’s one thing or to have planned it out with people but to just inturupt people that you’ve never met makes it more awkward
Oh, please guys, do not ever propose in public, in a restaurant, at a show or a game. Be a little more romantic and private, and most important; be sure she feels the same as you do. She might like you, but that is not the same as wanting to spend the rest of her life with you.
You opinion. I would find a public proposal super romantic, he’s displaying how much he wants to marry me to the world. That’s way more romantic then him asking me to marry him privately. That would be super dull.

Luna Lovegood What he said applies to certain situations only. A lawyer wants to win the case, so he pressures his opponent to answer questions he (the lawyer) knows the answers to. And this applies to what the video is about too, since if you don't know if the girl will say yes, you'll get embarrassed when she says no.
This video basically teaches us to not propose to people in public. Not only is it embarrassing but it is very overwhelming and just not very romantic.
Like the one at the baseball game it was so loud I felt like it was going to blow out my eardrums XD Depending on the person I would be like I'll say yes but can you redo this somewhere quieter so I can actually hear what you are saying to me XD
My husband proposed in our home under our Christmas tree , down on one knee, just he, and I, and our dog. It was the most magical moment of my life, and everyone should have that. Not some attention grabbing move in public.
My husband proposed on Christmas eve, at home, just the 2 of us...we're divorced now. Doesn't matter where or how...just matters if the person is who he (or she) says he is. I was fooled, live and learn I guess.
I would hate to be proposed too in public. I would love it to be me and my future husband. I’ve always wanted to be proposed too outside though. Like on the beach at sunset
It's OK to propose in public, but please make sure that you've discussed your mutual future BEFOREHAND, and that the intended lady is on the same track as you are. Save yourself the embarrassment and heartbreak.
How about her embarrassment ? To be in public like that, to sort of force the situation so she'll say yes... terrible. I know someone who tried that. He proposed to his off and on girlfriend of six months at a big celebration event because he hoped she'd say yes if he did it in front of all those people. He thought wrong. She didn't run away immediately, not like the girls in the video, but she kept saying "no, no, no, don't do this". He kept trying to give her a ring but she wouldn't take it. She broke up with him later that evening, in private, telling him she could never forgive him for pressuring and humiliating her in public, in front of all those people. When I talked with her days later, she told me she'd never even told him she loved him, but he'd thought he could bring her around with the proposal. She thought what he'd done was sadly misguided and not at all romantic being in front of all those people. She'd been very very embarrassed.
hatchling88 well obviously that's your friends problem I mean like the girl said she never told him that she loved him but tbh in that situation I would've just said yes instead of running away since that's just embarrassing for the both of us..Then after all of that is finished I'll just tell him in private that it's not gonna work out. Though honestly If I was a guy I'll ask a good friend of hers to see how she'll like the idea of that (but not spoiling it)
Yeung Joey - but if you say yes and then change your mind later, everyone is going to be super upset with you. They wont see it as if you were trying to spare him public humiliation, they'll see it as you being deceptive. I guess it doesn't matter in the long run though, because if a girl rejects a proposal publicly she's going to receive negative attention either way. I can't tell you how many times I've turned down guys only to have people tell me that I'm being picky and stuck-up and cruel because I should just "give him a chance" since he put himself out there.
That guy with the April Fools Joke was extremely cruel. I hope she left him! Never propose in public unless you've talked about marriage already and you want the same.

But they were 100% sure, every one of them. They were absolutely sure she'd say yes or they wouldn't have risked such awful public humiliation.
@@ushoys Unless they discussed it with their girlfriend beforehand and she was enthusiastically onboard, there's no way they could have been 100% sure.
@@jenny6904 If you discuss marriage with a girlfriend and you indicate that you want it, THAT is the proposal, not anything that comes afterwards.

The April's fool proposal was very mean!!
The guy at the mall is #1 🤣 and lady askin’ “are you ok?” Should get the prise 🤣
If you're going to propose in public, be prepared to be dumped in public.
I am prepared to be dumped publicly in the comment section. But I prefer a yes.
Will you marry me?
Aw. That's sweet. But, alas. It's gotta be a no. ;D
God dam rejected hahahaha
Elizabeth Angel are u single? :(
If I propose to a girl I'm doing it in private so I don't have to live with the humiliation if it's a no, and if she says yes then the fact no one else is around would make it more special.
Come on, getting married and spending the rest of your life together should be a decision you've discussed and agreed to, rather than a yes/no question in public when one person out of the couple feels like it.
Agreed, I can't believe people actually propose directly without discussing about marriage beforehand.
True. With all those strangers around yelling "Say Yes, Say Yes!"
@James Bachi yea they make big weddings then cheat like dogs
I agree. I bet some of these people didn’t run away because they said “no,” they ran because they were overwhelmed and needed time to think about it and *talk* about it *IN PRIVATE*

Proposing in public is the complete opposite of romantic.

And is tacky af, in my opinion.
Sure, if that is the case. Often times it seems more about putting someone on the spot so they cant say no. If you are constantly telling your man you want him to propose, then yeah, nothing wrong at all with it. As we see in this video and 50 more like it, they don't know the girl is going to say yes.
TooTall Tim I absolutely agree
And it looks silly. Why you have to show your love to all those crowd lol silly people.

He knew I'd find it. )

109367 My thoughts exactly!
There is a time and place for everything.
Well said.

I would be too
I would never try a public proposal either.

This is so heartbreaking because that literally means the girl you love don't see herself living a life with you forever.
There are 3 rules to follow for a marriage proposal,
1. Keep it private, don't make it into a public show.
2. Make sure you've discussed marriage a good deal.
3. Actually date this person for long time(more than 2 years) and that you really know each other.
4. Do not drop the baby
I don't think it's fair to propose to anyone in public. It's like you're using public as extra pressure.
The only times I think it's okay to publically propose to someone is if you're absolutely 100% sure the other person is going to say yes anyway, otherwise you risk publically humiliating yourself, and you're putting unfair pressure on the other person to say yes.
Well yeah but, that's just your opinion, some people would love to be proposed to in public.

Y’all. This is why it’s important to discuss marriage with you partner and when. So that when you ask, they’ll say YES🤦🏼♀️
99% of these were staged actually
I'd like to believe in most cases, wanting to get married is already a mutual feeling before one partner proposes, it's just a matter of when it happens and the couple is ready for the commitment. Two people who've been together long enough have discussed their marriage plans already and how they hope their partner might propose. Hopefully the only surprise is when it happens.

Mace S yeah I understand all of it. Tell everyone in the restaurant, or wherever you are. Get a megaphone, a band to play music, also get a janitor in the background moping the floor. She said no don't do it and he didn't listen to her wishes. That shows just what a guy he is. Don't fucking embarrass people like that, how manipulative do you have to be?
She could’ve walked away but no she had to hit him. Don’t sit there and protect her.
Embarrassing your girlfriend in front of a crowd by putting her on the spot? Why do people think this is romantic?
Because movies lol
Can I just say the most awkward ones are when you go “hey everyone can I have your attention” i mean if you have family around that’s one thing or to have planned it out with people but to just inturupt people that you’ve never met makes it more awkward
The train had a message " Not So Sweet" unfortunately guy couldn't see it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How clueless do you have to be to publicly ask such an important question and not know the answer ahead of time?
Oh, please guys, do not ever propose in public, in a restaurant, at a show or a game. Be a little more romantic and private, and most important; be sure she feels the same as you do. She might like you, but that is not the same as wanting to spend the rest of her life with you.

There is an old lawyer saying, "Never ask a question for which you don't already know the answer."
"I can't even ask a question, when I know the answer is going to be a lie"
There's an even older saying "How can you tell when a lawyer is lying? His lips are moving"
That's like saying, "don't eat food when you're hungry" the point of asking questions is to get an answer because you don't know the answer.
Not in a courtroom. If you ask the wrong question the answer you are not expecting could sink your case.

Though honestly If I was a guy I'll ask a good friend of hers to see how she'll like the idea of that (but not spoiling it)
Intended lady 🤔🤔 sexist much.....
Yeung Joey - but if you say yes and then change your mind later, everyone is going to be super upset with you. They wont see it as if you were trying to spare him public humiliation, they'll see it as you being deceptive.
