Art man, I feel for you brother. It sucks not being able to train to the level you have been able to in the past. I’m sure you know this already but, keep your head up Art man. You have inspired thousands of dudes to get off their asses and do bodyweight training. I certainly am one of them. That influence is real and life changing bro. Keep doing your thing brother and in time, the shoulder will get to a place where you can hit a War Machine routine again, or a Mega Man routine, which is one of my all time favourites👊. Always love and respect to the OG, the burpee Don✊🫵💯!

Hey Art. Burpees teach us that every time we go down, we get back up again. If your shoulder's not feeling great, go for a run, do some lunges, squats, maybe try out some new stuff. You've always been big on leading by example, and we're looking to you now too. You don't need to go all out with shot callers and those insane workouts you used to do before the injury, but you do need to show us your resilience and ability to adapt... and now, your wisdom in being patient. Life keeps moving and we keep changing. If it were all the same, what would be the point? Only those who give up fighting are truly beaten. Being great isn't just about giving, it's about knowing how to receive too. So, accept our support and reinvent yourself. We're in your corner. Until next time... stay safe, stay strong! ;-)

I've been fortunate to avoid major injuries, but seventy-four years of living takes its toll regardless. I have incorporated a burpee routine into my training for as long as I can remember since first discovering The Wolf's channel some years ago. My routine takes about an hour, and includes sets of ten one pumps, followed by a short rest/recovery, then repeat the ten one pumpsets five more times, totaling sixty burpees, then twleve chins/pull-ups, followed by a minute (or longer!) of rest/recovery, then repeat the sequence three more times. Total of 240 one pump burpees and 48 chins/pullups. I do this once or twice a week, depending on my other activities, interspersed with other body weight routines, plus biking, skiing, whatever as the weather permits. With God's kind and gracious assistance, I hope to keep this up until my time here on Earth is over and my eternity with Him begins. God bless you, Wolf and all your internet followers. And know that someone does actually give a (care) for you!

Bro been watching you for a while, be easy on yourself and get back into it slowly and healthy man. The mental torture of injuries is so much worse than the physical pain, for those of us who really take fitness seriously and make it a part of who we are, not being able to perform at a level we previous could causes genuine depression. Just know you’re worth more than just your crazy workouts and stuff man. Always an inspiration, rah YUT semper fi kill babies

    Hey Iron Wolf,
I’ve watched your videos for years, and while I don’t do the high rep burpee training anymore, I still check in every now and again to see what you’re up to and get inspired.
I can see you’re struggling with injury right now. I just wanted to let you know I totally feel your pain, you’re not alone, not just in being injured but having to deal with the mental side of suddenly being limited in life.
I’m only 29 years old, I fractured a small bone in my spine a few years ago. This healed up normally, but I unknowingly likely had herniated a couple discs at the same time. I went about everything normally for a few years until about 6 months ago. I either reherniated or exacerbated an already existing herniation. For about 6 months or so whenever I sit for longer than 15 minutes I get radiating tingles all down my right leg, sometimes this can turn in to pain. If I do anything that puts pressure on the discs I can make it worse and the tingling becomes constant. This essentially means that I can never press significant weight overhead again, or do any kind of weighted squat or deadlift, even if the injury and symptoms goes away eventually, which is iffy, the doctors say it can take years, or be permanent. And then for the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting hives when I train for some reason and am currently seeing doctor’s for that.
It feels more and more like the things I used to do without thinking, things I love, are going away. I get depressed, feel anxiety, etc. I see people on the street, or see people training, and get jealous, in my head thinking about how they’re probably just leading normal lives, etc.
But there’s always a way. I can’t do weights anymore? Okay I’ll do all calisthenics, I just avoid anything that excessively bends or twists my back. Get hives? Take hella Zyrtec and train in bursts inside, etc. There’s always something we can do to train. Upper body injury? Get super in to running, cycling for the time being, etc. etc.
You know all this already but I just wanted you to know you’re not alone brother and I totally feel it, so relatable. I remember never having to think about it, now going to a movie theater is a pain in the ass (literally). But we’ll get through this, only a matter of time.

I know thats hard to keep in perspective but lifes not over just because you cant do push ups as well any more. People out here so sick or so over weight they cant even do a single burpee. You can transition your fitness into another avenue at least its only your shoulder and not a series terminal health illness. Stay strong wolf this will pass my brother.

You will find healing happens rapidly and completely because your providing your body with the essential building blocks for connective tissue repair. Keep your head up Art! You're a great inspiration for us that follow you, so please continue the journey, even if not at 100% immediately. Injury is the risk we take while training. Sometimes it's 2 steps forwards and 1 step backwards road. We'll overcome it, but it will just take some time. We can't rush it! I'm writing this after my back locked up - haven't trained in 1 week (plus all the meds that come with it that are no good). I'll need to come back slowly and I know it'll be a slog. I'm looking forward to 4-6 months from now when I'll look back and would have 1. learned a lesson, 2. have something to share with others, 3. be even more in tune with my body. Wishing you a speedy recovery Art!

Hey Art! Fantastic routine! Thank you for your words at the end! I've been following you for four years now and truly admire your dedication and expertise.
In 2017, I suffered from a severe herniated disc. I visited multiple doctors and received numerous opinions, all indicating that I would never be able to do my favorite sports again (boxing and kayaking). It took eight dark months for my recovery, during which I struggled to even put on my socks or walk properly.
However, when my physiotherapist suggested swimming, I went for a lot of laps. In 2019, I started boxing again, and by 2021, I was back on the water as a kayaker. Keep pushing forward bro and don't let the doubters discourage you! Keep your head up!

Hope the shoulder is healing up nicely! I had some impingement syndrome issue with my shoulder from may to about january, still stinging from time to time, but i lowered the workload... lots of running to compensate the missing movement. I think it was a stupid mistake from not warming up at all and hitting the pullup bars at a trip with some friends out in Prague! Burpees never did damage to me (maybe only my wrists, but that why i used the straps for longer workouts). Man your workout routines were insanely HEAVY back in 2021/22, but You gonna get back stronger and tougher!!!

An inspiration to many, I did a 1000 burpees push ups because of you. That video of the 500 navy seals played on my mind for years, so in the end I just had to do it, I trained for it and got it smashed out. Wolf, brother you are continuing on, at the end that's all that matters, is you keep grinding and staying consistent. Don't be hard on yourself when it's not needed. It would be needed if you totally gave up and didn't do anything. Bro you are still GETTING IT. I understand with being our biggest critiques, but I'm here to tell you, you are doing GREAT, lighten up on yourself for a bit and you too will see your doing just fine, just keep grinding like you do. No one stays young forever no matter how hard we work. Eventually everyone's mortality rate drops to 0.

I recently dusted off the crossropes and weighted ropes that you inspired me to buy...and started training. Those are pretty awesome. Amazing for recovery from injury! Weighted ropes unbroken for 5mins 2-4 times....insanely hard! Try it guys!

One of the greatest lessons I learned while doing your routines was to simply focus on the set right in front of me, and not the workout as a whole. If i saw that I had upwards of 1,000 reps to go, it would almost feel unattainable. So instead, I would force myself to think just do this set of 25, and then when that's done you drop a coin and do it again, and before you know it, it's over. Also, there was a time when I would watch your workouts and never imagine getting near the volume you were doing. So, I imagine in some ways you're in the same boat as a lot of the people watching you now. So, now we can all grow together.

Hello iron wolf 💪 🐺 good to see again, but please dont push it too soon, your body was at peak performance almost inhuman like and it needs a little rest now. We all can hear the sadness in your words, but please be strong soldier, we are all praying for you and wish you a good recovery! The Motivation you gave us all in the last years is unbroken, you are still the ultimate burpee machine! Take care and greetings from austria 😁

It hurts seeing you struggling with the situation. A little advice from a 50 year old guy serving more than 25 years in military and police SF. Get used to the decay of your body. Unfortunately it is unstoppable, and once you pass a certain age it´s becoming very obvious. I saw generations with the same background, about 90% of them were wrecked after all these years giving a fuxx about their bodys. The only thing you can do is to fight it with smart trainings and recovery. And so I am still doing your oldschool and brilliant high rep burpee routines 2 or 3 times a week. Awesome workout keeping me active and almost healthy. Thanks to you Art I´m pretty fit and also mentally strong. Be patient, train smart and recover. And you will be as fit as before pretty quick. Stay strong. Teufel Hunden!!!!

On a small side note, I got a gnarly pinched nerve in my upper left back it has healed mostly but every once in awhile it will inflame and cause major pain and discomfort, this has been going on for the past 3.5 years and at this point I know it will cause problems every so often, but you know we learn to live with it we adjust, adapt and move on. I get it can be a burden but it only can cause as much problem as you lend your mind to it.

Salute to you, I have also been struggling mentally, it’s gets you down when having any injuries that only time can heal. Keep going bro, you are the man, best fitness routine on the tube by far.🫡🇺🇸

Injury rehab is always frustrating. A top athletics coach I knew said a good thing is to use it to bring in other aspects which might not have been emphasised as much Then the period can be used as progress. It does not mean abandoning tge main stuff. Anyway your mental toughnes was always a huge plus for you.

    Love the routine brother
Did you ever use clubbells for mobility exercises? I had issues with my shoulders recently and used a 5 kilo one to kind of unblock my shoulder, I noticed a direct effect
Just putting it out there in hope that your shoulder will recover soon
    All the best wolf!

Sorry for your injury. It's very strong.
Just wondering what can I do if I can't more than like 10 burpees and 0 pull-ups? How can I work towards getting my first pull up? Should I do negative? Should I do inverted rows How can i do a workout and build up to my first pull up mabe ten sets of 5 or 10 inverted rows with a burpee adding a burpee every do and eventually moving to negatives
