I had an asthma attack for the first time in five years, at my icecream job. I didn't have an inhaler on me. I honestly thought I was dying, I called my mom, gasping for air, I had customers in line, the lady at the front of the line took my phone and tried to help me, and talked to my mom. I looked up and people were recording me, and not calling 911. The lady who was helping me screamed "Are freaking kidding me?! Call for an ambulance!" The EMT workers had to force people out of the way, and out of the building for my privacy. I heard a lady tsk and complain. "But we came all the way out for icecream. " like okay boomer, let me just get off my stretcher with this tank hooked to me and make you a sundae.
Sorry you experienced that. At my local shopping centre a woman had a heart attack, security used a defib on her. The family found out by seeing their mother and grandmother without a shirt and bra on, on social media :'( WTF is wrong with people???

Same! My art is best on paper and with my shading pencils, but costs lead me to learn digital art and it can get overwhelming. I do free art most of the time, but when I charge (always like $20 because I am not a pro) people decide to look elsewhere. 😒 I'm already undercutting my prices to be competitive.
I feel this too. The complaints that I don’t do free art or that I gave ‘that person’ free art is a real pain in the butt. People don’t understand the time and labor that artist go through, even us digital artists.

Years ago, I worked in a restaurant while going to college. I happened to be supervising one night when a guy had a heart attack. We had trouble keeping the other guests back. They acted like it was a dinner show. One woman came up and complained that her table hadn't seen their waitress in forever and they wanted to order dessert. I said that we have to keep the area clear for the paramedics to work. She kept complaining (as did other tables). I had enough and yelled, "do you people have no idea what is going on right now?!" Sadly, the man didn't make it.
I DEMAND that you play with your dog. He's got good grades and DESERVES it.
I'm also very certain that he has cancer and should receive more attention. If you didn't know, attention and/or expensive gifts can cure cancer!

I get physically angry when they say "make some free art for me" because I'm an artist, and I know how long it takes to work on a good drawing or painting, and it's also expensive as heeeeeeell
Especially to use paints and stuff that are light fast for commissions. Artists gotta get paid for time and cost of material
I relate on a personal level.
That's why I pay extra AND give the rough draft I drew.
I can draw, but not great. Even still, people see my drawings and say I need to draw tattoos at a shop......Those guys have to draw a masterpiece in an hour less, this took me all week.

That first story got to me more than I thought it would. I lost my mom on Dec 21, '17. She was my absolute best friend. When I hear about people not having any type of relationship with their parents, especially their moms, it just breaks my heart. I couldn't imagine my own mother not wanting to see me.

I know how dangerous vaccines can be but I'm not entitled and I don't think I'm smarter than most people, I can sound very intelligent at times but how I see things is: When you do get a vaccine read up on them and make sure you know what you're getting into, some people handle things differently and could get an allergic reaction to them or it probably could cause autism but it just depends on the person.

About six months ago i said i'd charge 100.00$ for anyone who annoys me while working on personal art and commissions. I haven't heard from him since. LoL.

Watermarks, my friend. Always claim your art as yours. Also, make sure you don’t let anyone take advantage of you. If I deal sounds to good to be true or just sounds shady in general it probably is. Finally, if you’re proud of your art, then don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Twist Of Fate Studios when you start doing commissions (should you decide to do so) it’s best to do at least number one, but it’s best to do all of these:
1.) always request a deposit up front. I’m typically more lenient with friends and repeat clients as I know they’ll pay in the latter case it helps build that client relationship. But if you don’t know them, they’re just a regular client, or have any suspicion that they might not be good for the money-request cash first. I go with the “half now, half upon completions” rule. If someone dips out on you at least the time won’t have been totally wasted.
2.) INVOICES. ALWAYS HAVE A PAPER TRAIL. I see this a lot with budding artists where they’ll do number one but then be SOL should the client simply take the money back. Because there was no physical good (I assume this is digital art) there’s no proof he agreed to payment. Paypal already comes with an invoice system built in, but if you aren’t keen on it or paypal send an email to the client with all the information regarding the commission and have them reply to it agreeing with it. Do the same when they receive the commission. This way if someone tries to shortchange you you have actual evidence that they have committed theft. PayPal’s invoice system prevents people from pulling these fraud charges with the use of invoices and if you’re not using paypal and don’t feel like lawyering up over 20 bucks it’s a good way to put an art thief on blast with receipts.
3.) (bonus) even when doing step one, always send the watermarked commission first until you get the other half of your payment. Make sure it’s big and impossible for the client to remove themselves, but make sure the drawing is visible (do what deviantart does and have it at low opacity).
At the end of the day even if you follow every step you might one day get conned out of a piece of work, and it’ll suck. But you brush the dust off, put em on blast for being a bitch, and get back up again. I have a school story that happed in November 5( 2019)
It’s not a Karen story but it is about a kid in my class who had a seizure.
I was 11 at the time but I will be 12 in February and my class had a science test on November 5th, so we where nervous and we where getting our needles that day 2, so Extremely tensed and around 10 minutes before the first 5 kids had to go get their shots (I was one of the first 5😭) and this extremely shy kid HAS A SIEZURE, I had known what it looked like and what would happen, so I knew what was happening, our teacher started yelling at us to go get the school nurse(she was act good at her job), I ran out of the room with a few other kids and just sat out in the hall, I bawled my eyes out, it’s terrifying to see one of your friends/peers have a siezure and also having bad anxiety is real helpful in situations like this, an ambulance showed up and some kids had seen him get taken out in a stretcher. I got my shots and called home as soon as I could get my phone out of my bag that was still in the classroom (the kid puked a little so they had to clean it up), I went home and cried because that was terrifying to see and my arms hurt from getting the shots.
