r/Entitledparents In today's entitled parents video, a clueless and selfish mother leaves her young baby in a hot car in 90+ degree weather so that she can shop. When she gets confronted, the only thing she cares about is getting home in time to watch her shows. She doesn't even seem to care that her kid is locked away inside of a sweltering car. I remember when I was a kid I would go shopping with mum. Sometimes I didn't feel like it and asked to stay in the car, she refused and insisted on taking with her into the shops. I think there was only one occasion when she left me, and that was only after she made sure all the windows were open and I had a drink. I didn't think it was a big deal at the time. Now I know my mum was saving my life. LOVE YOU MUM!
Your mum is amazing
Be sure to thank her for that (assuming she's still alive).
I had a similar upbringing, but it was more common for my parents to leave my bro and i in the car. They would usually leave us the keys so we could turn on the a/c or at the very least roll down the windows. Never really had any problems. And quite frankly we were also smart enough to get out of the car if we needed to. That didnt start till we were maybe 6 or 7
Joel Nunan yup I always got left in cars because Iâm slow and nosy lol my mom just left the keys and windows down
@@joelnunan5607 As a kid, I once almost crashed the car trying to turn the electra on. It was a manual ('cause Europe) left in gear, I turned the key too far and accidentally turned the engine on, it started moving, I turned it off immediately, and luckily it stopped before hitting anything. I never told my mom, but for a few years after that, I was too scared to turn the key myself.
"hot cars kill toddlers"
HOT CARS KILL ANYONE
don't leave anyone, pets, kids, adults, anyone who can't get out of the car, in a hot car?? These stories made me cry.
Definitely, although babies don't have the ability to regulate their body temperature like adults can, so on a moderately hot day it's so much worse for the child than what you would feel and that just adds to the point
yes but also adults can usually use common sense and unlock the car and get out whereas toddlers and children canât
@@perinnial9695 I think the adults they're talking about are ones who cannot get out on their own. Like adults with mental or physical disabilities
Leave you cold pizza hut you spent 18 dollars on in there

2 kids died recently in Australia literally from being left in a hot car
Of course they did. Leaving kids in the car in summer needs to legally be called attempted murder, and murder if it does kill them. Whats any different between killing someone with a knife or any way that is considered murder, and leaving ur kids in the car when u know its hot? NO DIFFERENCE.
Nah
Not murder
Murder - murder means you killed someone and not telling the cops
So its very similar to leave your kid in your hot car in the hot weather
Id say its child endangering
Problem: Entitled Parents
Solution: hit them with their car and lock them in their in car in Australia during summer.
Kawaii_Potato thatâs not what murder means, murder is to have the mens rae element which is intention to kill, you can tell the cops but still be convicted of murder if it was someoneâs intention
Tara Ellevsen exactly, this would be manslaughter.
"Its your fault my kid is in a hot car!"
Cops: tell that to the judge!

I actually saw a crazy mother leave her 3 children outside in her car, in a handicapped spot with NO placard or license plate for it AND in front of the Department of Social Services so she could go in and apply for Medicaid and Food Stamps!!!
Someone went in and told the staff while I kept an eye on the kiddos (because the car was also running!) and DSS came out and promptly took her kids!!!

If the car was running then the AC was probably on. At least the fans.
Surely she didn't drive in the heat without the AC or fans on.
A running car does not mean the AC is working she could have simply left the radio on doesn't mean the AC is going to work also what if the AC itself was broken you never really know from the outside
I don't understand how these people can't bring their kids into the store?
Lazy, doesn't want or just wants them dead.
They think that their 'angel' would be fine and the people breaking the glass they think can and will sue and press charges and blah blah blah
They also think âitâll only be five minutes I wonât be long â for another thing they donât realize cars can heat up pretty quickly even in the shade / with windows open

I have always held the belief the people who leave their children or pets in a hot car should be sentenced to sitting in the car for the same amount of time. And if they survive, they get hauled off to prison to finish off their sentence.
That actually seems like a fair punishment, ngl
i actually saw a video where a cop found a dog in a car on a very hot day and (over 100 degrees fahrenheit), it took less than a minute for the owner to show up, when the cop asked her why she would do that to a dog she said "it was only for 10 minutes" and he actually took her dog out of the car when she unlocked it and said "if you think it's no big deal then YOU sit in the car with no AC for 10 minutes, if you can do that you can get your dog back, if not you'll be arrested because animal abuse is a felony" she sat in the car and the cop even let her keep the driver door open the whole time, she was complaining "you can't do this to me" "it's too hot" "this is cruel, how can you just stand there and watch". she refused to sit there for more than 3 minutes, got arrested, and lost her dog (who ended up being adopted by the cop that rescued him)
the only time my dog has been left in the car was when i stayed with her while my husband ran inside really quickly for something, we both had water and i had the AC on the whole time. that scenario is the only time leaving your dog in the car is acceptable.

Not a good thing either. You could have died from carbon monoxide poisoning had you stayed any longer inside a car with thr a/c turned on.
So that's why my dad always leave a crack on the car windows
Lucas Repoponio how? Wouldnât you die then if taking a long car drive with the ac? Thatâs only if youâre in a garage with the car running
Yeah when Iâm left in the car Iâm not allowed close the door I have to keep it open and I do
Lucas Repoponio how? Because AC doesnât create that. The engine does but it is such a small amount that you couldnât even feel an affect in anyway if you stayed there for HOURS. You might want to check things before you say them.

I can totally relate to the last story. When I was 8 my big sister had her first child and then the second a year later.
All well and good. Except that she had a very volatile relationship with her husband and every time they had an argument, she would leave him and come home.
But when she did, I was thrown out of my bed, and it was given to her kids. So, I was age 9 and waking up at 3am to crawl into a pile of blankets of the floor, while she made herself at home. She also tried to take a bunch of my stuff and give it to her kids. I managed to find a hiding spot for my most treasured items, cos I knew I wouldn't win an argument. My mother, in an attempt to not be bothered with her children, because she was too into her 23 year old BF, just told me to give her whatever she wanted and go away.
Yeah....that was a childhood of a sort...

I once heard that the temperature inside a car (with closed windows of course) can be 20+ degrees hotter than the outside temperature after a certain period of time
Yup! It has a greenhouse effect due to its surrounding windows. Just like how greenhouses use the sun to keep warm year round, cars do the same.
yeah thats true. One day it was nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside, we get into the car and its like 118 ish degrees. just by opening the windows and doors of the car, you can immediately feel the hot air mix with the slightly less hot air.
Yeah, I remember a time before our car had AC where in the summer we'd have to open the car a few minutes before getting in because it was just too hot.
Depends on how much direct sunlight and color of the vehicle (interior and exterior).
i know in summer on a 30 degree day (86 F) ive gotten in car temps of above 50 C (122 F) in direct sunlight
If I was a cop and those parents reaction was anything except guilt and feeling bad about what happened to THEIR CHILD and especially if theyâre blaming other peopleâs I would make sure that that was reported and they get the maximum amount of jail time for the charges, and that they never see their children again. And Iâd hope the DA, the Jury and the judges would feel the same way

First thing I might do, in the "child in the car situation" might be to call out to anyone at the store's door - greeter, on-break cashier, another customer - and say "Someone left their child in the car!" This might lead to that storewide announcement, which might locate the parent, and if the parent didn't respond, I could then be justified in breaking open the front driver window in order to unlock the car so that the kid could be taken out.

I got left in the car all the time as a child. My parents were caring and loving and I was never in any danger. I was left with the car keys (I was old enough to be responsible) and the windows were usually rolled down. My parents would NEVER take more than 10 minutes to finish up inside, which didn't matter to impatient kids, as we knew it would be longer if we went with. Also, obviously, thy would take us with if it was too hot.

And she usually grabs 1-3 things then comes back, but sometimes picks up already ordered food if so.

Omg that last story was so sad. I relate to it a lot, and I'm so so glad OP's parents finally came to their senses.
âOh man, my son died. GIVE ME YOUR SON!â
@Marshall Kinnaird It actually is a story in the Hebrew Bible, the Judgment of Solomon
@@EchoFrost13 honestly I'm not surprised
@@makiito4170 I'm not either, in all honesty. When I heard the story my first thought was "Why is this something that WOULD happen in real life?"
I wouldnât leave my dogs in a hot car never mind a child
There's a difference?
*looks at my fur baby and coos*
Dogs are more important than children
Meanwhile me: oops I left my horse in the car XD
no difference between them, heat has no care regarding what it affects
"my shows are important to me"
She's just like the sml version Bowser, you know, the one who cares about nothing but charleyyy.
If life was an anime.
Me: your kid is dieing in that car that you have the key to, in conclusion it is your child and your going to jail for child endangerment.
Entitled mom: b...Baka...itâs your fault.....donât blame this on me!!!!!!
Some people donât know how dangerous it is to leave their children in a hot car, and for that reason there is a justification for breaking into a car to save a child on a hot day. (sorry for the long comment lol)
Honestly, this summer I was worried that I was gonna have a child left in a car
Edit I forgot to add: I worked as a parking lot attendant
i think a dad near me actually lost his daughter to this exact reason
A father lost his daughter due to something similar, except it was intentionally done by the soon to be step-mother. She intentionally(I refuse to believe this was an accident) left her fiancé's toddler daughter in her car while she went to work, claiming she forgot to drop her off at daycare (If I recall correctly she DID drop her own kid off) that little girl cooked in 97°f weather and had a internal temp of 110°f when checked at the hospital.
Here's the kick in the dick a jury acquitted the bitch. Was only found guilty of the summary charge of leaving a child unattended in a car and fined her $25.

Op in last one ,
I feel your pain so much. The struggle is way to real. Hell I'm in my 20's and I'm still treated like that by everyone in my family.
the logic of its op's 18th birthday and her sister expects her not to go out and do anything for her 18th birthday but watch her kids like did she think the op would agree to watch her kids like how old was op's sister in the story
@@thathumangiraffe6548 if it's anything like mine probably only 2 years older
This charging rent to your kids when they are still in school, is this the norm in the US? It sounds horrible, as if the parents aren't interested in their kids, and would rather be rid of them as soon as possible. I paid rent as soon as I had a real job but most parents in my country don't demand rent from their adult children. Personally, as soon as I had finished studying and got a job, I wanted to contribute.
No No its not. It's only to familys that are poor and having money issues so somtimes the kids have to help. middle class and even 1st class dont do that in the US
To what jared horning was saying it's not normal and the only reason why the kid or kids have to help with rent is if the family is poor
That story wasnât from the US cause she said it was legal to drink at 18 and in America itâs 21
Children shouldn't have to sacrifice their children even if the family is poor
parents being poor is not an excuse to charge your kid rent. you made the kid, you care for it, or next time close your legs. end of story
of course this doesn't apply to 18+ year olds who are not doing anything constructive like school/uni/job and just leech off of their parents without any intention of making something out of themselves, but that's an entirely different issue
EDIT: i understand that people can become poor after their kids are born, or sometimes the kids actively want to contribute, and that it is also a way to teach teenagers responsibility, which can be an important lesson if done well and it doesn't drain their savings. i have seen cases however, where friends of mine coming from middle class families had to get jobs at 16 and start paying rent to live at their parents' house, and if they stayed with them during university and such, they should consider themselves "lucky" if their parents let them live there rent free. that's not parenting, that's just tolerating your kid until it is old enough for you to kick it out
I dont have kids, but when my dogs are in my vehicle, I leave the AC blasting, windows down an inch or two, while leaving it running. I have spare keys of course. Leaving a note on my windows stating that AC is on, and doggos are listening to their fav metal music. "Leave me to my 'cool' music" is what I imagine my puppers saying to ppl walking by (they are taught to NOT bark, unless someone fucks with their property). They are amazing.
the last sentence of the last one.
it reminded me of that tumblr post where mother tried to passively disown her kids by having amug with "all my kids have paws" on it but OP explained that her kids are furries

UPDATE for the first story
The cops told that EP would only get a fine because the victim ( EP's son ) wasn't harmed / injured . As for their family , OP hasn't seen them in a while and thinks they are avoiding it .
EM definitely deserved more than just a fine
OP: it was 35 degrees but it feels like 44!
Me in middle east: *sees that it's 44 here and frowns* hmmm
Haha I can relate
You mean, it was 97F and felt like 113F ... unlikely
_Straight up, there was this challenge for people to spend ten minutes in a hot car with no water or phone and win a hundred bucks. Apparently people couldn't last five, but like... I don't think they'd survive a day in California._

First one mother needs to learn that KIDS can not be left in a CAR in a hot day at 2 pm with WINDOWS shut. My parents do this but they only keep me in or leaves the car on, I was old enough to stay in the car.
these stories make me want to punch my monitor. god that's so agrivating.
what i love about you is that you know when to make a joke and when not to. all these other stories get a stupid joke, but when it get serious, (ie the kids in cars) and you know it not a joking matter. thumbs up bro.
The fact that the woman in the thumbnail looks like my friend who is dying of terminal brain cancer actually almost made me cry. Partly because of how close we were in college and also because she has a two year old son and a daughter who will be one in January. Sheâs a great mom and does everything she can for her kids. It was pretty easy to tell it wasnât actually her in the thumbnail due to the hair color but it still hurt.
if I ever have a child, I'm never leaving them in a car

Fun fact, in most states (mine included, Alabama) if you find a child or animal in a vehicle during summer months, there are laws stating that you are allowed to break the window, or otherwise do anything in your power to get the vehicle open, provided you immediately call local authorities
35 degrees? Iâm so confused thatâs not hot at all. Thatâs like a nice relaxing day.
I think we come from different places
My mom only leaves me in the car if it is fall, early winter, or early spring, but it would only be about 10-15 minutes at a time

I am a proud North Dakotan. I still live here today and dispite all of the news of how cold it can get here, we can get well into the 90s in July and August. It can be common to see a news story every week about a kid dying of heat stroke in a car. Please don't leave kids, no, ANYTHING THAT'S ALIVE in a hot car.
Once, my mom left me in the car. Donât panic, as she wasnât gone long and left the AC on. But the car in front of us had a woman getting in it, and she was staring at me, seemingly debating taking action or not. I was fine, just playing on my phone, and I gave her a half hearted thumbs up. She eventually left. Thatâs it.
I've heard that story before, I'm pretty sure on another channel, though I don't remember which one.
Nevermind, I was thinking about a different story. 5:41 This one I think.
That last story sounds like a perfect scene for an r/prorevenge
If I see a animal/person in a hot car...
BYE BYE WINDOW!
I have an r/EntitledTeachers story...
We had a sub in math that day. Weâre gonna call the sub Entitled Sub (ES). Now, the boy that this happened to didnât have a very good reputation, so weâll call him Bad Reputation Boy (BRB). I sit right next to BRB in math so I saw this all too well. Oh, weâll call our regular teacher that wasnât there Regular Teacher (RT). So, earlier that day, our home room teachers had informed us that there was going to be a fire drill. Since this was a sub, and the drill was going to be during math, BRB asked *very* politely,
BRB: Are you aware that thereâs a fire drill today?
ES: BRB, RT put ME in charge of this class, not YOU! Reflection form for you!
Now, a reflection form took 10 minutes away from a really fun end-of-the-year activity. I was fuming at this sub but Iâm not stupid so I kept my trap shut. BRBâs eyeâs filled with tears and BRB was taken into the hallway. This kept going on, and now the room is silent. Later, BRB reported to the principal, and the principal âhad to go by what ES said because she was the adultâ. Now I donât know what the sub said but it was probably all fake or else BRB would have gotten off of the hook because our principal was extremely nice.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.
