    Dear, dear Brother Ali.
You said the last hurtle is the social media aspect for your newest album, (which I already know will be pure 🔥), this record will be well worth the struggle to bring it to light.
You already know this, you've been in the trenches bringing light to nourish our fellow species souls. No matter how many obstacles or roadblocks small insecure people put in the way of amazing genuine humans like you, they never prevail, WE DO.
Much love, God bless, and keep on keeping on! 🙏

This is such a refreshing thing to hear from an artist such as yourself that I, myself , have yet to embark on the journey that is your work ..thank you . Thanks for the realness and calling out / explaining the greediness as well as one sided ness that lies within the popular industry.

Hey Brother Ali, may you and yours be safe, well, and continue to know peace, serenity, acceptance, understanding, and love. The world needs you as a truth teller and I deeply appreciate your bravery and sacrifice.
I agree with about 90% of what you said. Being the person that I am, I'm going to talk about the 10% gap 😂 (but from a place of respect). One thing that comes to mind is that I agree that we're not separate and that we are parts of a greater whole. However, I would disagree that we need to posit a spiritual dimension outside of the laws of physics to understand that, as well as the idea that we can't get to understand the nature of that "more than us" through scientific as well as spiritual inquiry.
I believe that the various spiritual and religious traditions are pointing to something *real,* absolutely. I certainly believe in Love with a capital L. However, if you asked me if I believed in God, I would say that it depends on what you mean by that. If it's an entity that I need to take orders from and is making rules for my life, then no, I don't. If it's the patterns and harmony that I'm a part of and how I align myself with those as harmoniously as possible, then yes, absolutely.
I would also say that while secularism has done a lot of harm and is missing a lot, I don't think it's true that White European religion is the only culprit of killing in the name of God. There's plenty of that in the histories of every culture. Granted, white Europeans might be the Michael Jordan of genocide and domination, but we don't have a monopoly on it. I think if we try to set up too much of a divide between "white Europeans" and the rest of the world in anything, we risk playing into the separation. Note that doesn't mean it's all equal and we shouldn't reckon with colonialism and white supremacy. I'm just saying that othering and caste systems are present in many different cultures and histories and it seems to be a part of the human fabric generally. The most recent and egregious version is the Empire, but there is even evidence of oppression and slavery in some indigenous cultures.
Again, that's not to say we're all equally bad or to paper over the power dynamics as they stand. I just think it's important to recognize that holy wars have been fought for all sorts of dumb reasons and Christianity doesn't have a monopoly there.
I don't want to go on too long because I respect you and I respect your message and I'm mostly on board! I support you and your endeavors and I'm looking forward to the album. I just couldn't resist throwing my own two cents into the discussion.

Love to hear you talk about George Carlin. 🙏My absolute favorite, and without a doubt the person who (outside of myself) was the most essential force that lead to the worldview I subscribe to now.
He might have said that there is no God. However, he also said: "I think we're part of a greater wisdom than we will ever understand. A higher order, call it what you want. You know what I call it? The big electron."
I just hope he was wrong when - talking about humanity's future in his last interview - he said: "For incremental change it just seems the pile of shit is too deep." 🤞
All in all, wonderful podcast (as usual), Brother Ali. 🙏
    Peace & Love

Just a correction, the point is well made, but a factual error. At 42:00 you state that half of the population is dying of hunger. However, the number of people who suffer malnutrition due to poverty is about 10%, and the number of people who die each year of hunger or hunger-related diseases is about 3.1 million, or 0.038%. Definitely too high, but not half.

    • @ladyfangg

All of them are hungry. 100%. Malnutrition is extremely difficult to reverse in young children. Which is about half of the population.

Haven't finished listening to the episode yet, so if this comment is impetuous then please forgive me, but...
I'm not at all surprised that you support the innocent people of Palestine unequivocally. (Who of good conscience wouldn't?) But I am a little surprised that "From The River to The Sea" doesn't give you more pause for concern. That statement draws specific geographic lines, so I don't see how it's anything other than an overt call for the destruction of Israel and a return to it's pre-1948 borders. Even if one were to admit that abolishing the state of Israel is their end goal (and I don't think it's yours! ❤) that will never happen because the sheer power imbalance between Israel and Gaza/West Bank is just too one-sided in Israel's favor. The way I see it, a 2 state solution is the only positive and somewhat realistic way forward.
More importantly though, I've watched this war break the brains of well-meaning people on all sides. A close friend of mine and former college roommate of 3 years is now, by some absurd twist of fate, the largest unironically Communist content creator on CZcams. I'm talkin' 1.7 million subscribers and a podcast on the side that reaches probably 100k listeners across all listening platforms. He's a good man, husband, and father, but on Oct 9th, 2023, while bodies from the Hamas attack were still being located, even he had the gall to say that there is no such thing as an innocent Israeli civilian. And his cohosts concurred, saying that they "don't care" if there were civilian hostages taken by Hamas or not. twitter.com/notsoErudite/status/1711435538996060411 To me, these are barbaric talking points that only someone trying to meet an idealogical purity test could possibly try and justify. "Israeli newborn babies = colonizers = enemy combatants" is just profoundly stupid and amoral logic.
And Ali, like how you talk @24:47 about loving but strongly disagreeing with your friend, THIS is my own example of that. These are the broken brains that hurt me the most because they're my fellow progressives, artists, creators, and FRIENDS. How did they go so wrong? You as a religious man surely must recognize that even tacit encouragement of more violence is precisely the wrong way to go. Even if they call it "resistance," it's still monstrous and morally indefensible violence. On "Mourning in America" you rapped that "there's a very thin line between a soldier and a terrorist." And That's TRUE. I just hate seeing people defend one because they hate the other so much. Both are bad. Why can't people condemn them both? Perhaps I'm wrong but I always saw you as embodying the "Peace" side of your "War & Peace" Tour with Immortal Technique, which was something I always really appreciated about you. Speaking of Immortal Tech, on "Civil War" you delivered a modern masterpiece of a verse, saying
"Me, my wife, and babies, we ain't never made jihad
We just want to touch our heads to the floor and talk to God
Ask him to remove every blemish from our heart
The greatest threat of harm doesn't come from any bomb
The moment you refuse the human rights for just a few
What happens when that few includes you?
    Civil War."
To me, your words were regretful and mournful: not a threat of Civil War, but a plaintive cry for us all to avoid it! I feel that so much ❤ So naturally I see "From The River to The Sea" as a different ethos entirely. One which deeply worries me. I see too many ideologically siloed people not conversing with each other, and it makes me think of lines from one of my other favorite artists: a singer-songwriter/musician/poet/sometimes-rapper from the UK named Lookman Adekunle Salami.
    czcams.com/video/E415x9EmUPg/video.html&ab_channel=L.A.Salami-Topic
"As our scope gets wider, our hopes get higher
For creating a world that a good God might desire
It really feels like we’re supposed to
But the devil rides the back of all the new ideas that we’re exposed to
That’s why knowledge becomes a bomb
    A fact becomes a threat
    A right becomes a wrong
Any nuance in an argument or insult is gone
In a black and white world you’re either holy or you’re scum
This reminds me of the past, before McCarthyism
When Abraham asked God how many good men he’d kill
Just to get his point across
It should be a clue that you’re on the wrong side
When you’re willing to destroy lives
For the dogma you’ve been anointed on
‘Cause rationality’s regularly been outclassed by madness
    This shit makes me anxious"
Ali, man, this shit makes me anxious ❤
