Excellent! I've got enough to do with changing the pigtails to accommodate the new control unit to have to figure out what the "purple wire's" function is (the old unit did not have one) I thought maybe that had something to do with lighting but wanted to verify before changing any connectors thus voiding any warranties or RMA's. Is it the increased current draw when the stairs hit their end points that signals the control unit to cut B+ to the motor? Thanks again P.S. I have a 97 Rexall Vision on a P-30 WH chassis. When we first got it, it immediately had issues with the "new" hydrolic parking brake system. Well after many phone calls to GM & Rexhall I got no where with either so I did find the GM shop manuals for it and finally figured it out. If your interested I'll relate the story of the problem(s) and the fix I came up with. I also videoed the process. I'm dying to publish it in the hope's of saving anyone who experiences the same or similar issues, the absolute grief I endured dealing with the vendors (not the vehicle so much)
The purple wire gets tied into your porch/stairwell light .So the step light ( yellow ) underneath stays on . Just a little bit more light for dark campgrounds
I have a 2017 forest river forester with a Kwikee step 888. It suddenly stopped working after being plugged into a 20 amp camp ground plug and we realized it needed 30 amp so we switched sites. The electric step won’t operate. There is no noise coming from it but light is on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You’re explained everything in a a way that I can understand finally! Thank you !!!
Your welcome
