I’m at 4:14, and I’m already making a hypothesis that Taxidermy is probably much easier if you have a scan of one’s face wether it be the face of a pet or a human if you have a 3D scan of that face, you can use that to create the perfect dimensional analog to attach the skin for 3D printing

I used to be a mortician. I once actually had a request from someone who wanted to be taxidermied when he died. He asked me was it possible how much was it cost and was there a pre-need (buy before you die) plan available. I am not joking. He stated he had spoken to a lawyer and there was nothing at all that would prohibit this from being done legally. I explained that it was simply a service that we were unable to offer. I suggested trying a competitor.
We also used to get a lot of calls on April 1st from people asking about the service for Myra Mains (my remains)

When he started talking about the “corpse as property” bit, it made me think of a recent video by The Internet Historian detailing how a man got trapped in a hole deep underground and it became a big news story. Later, someone bought the property the man was buried on (which was on the same property where he got trapped), and that man’s corpse was put on display in spite of the family’s wishes.
Idk why but hearing about the space probe reaching Pluto in 2015 made me really happy because I was alive when it happened and it's now fun to imagine where it is now

Well different people have different ways to remember their loved ones. One might be the turning of a corpse to a diamond. This could symbolise how precious they were to that person and how you are never going to forget them. Keeping a part of them with you, not wanting to let go.
You're right, it may be weird, but why would you discuss about an accessory with a friend? Nobody i'm friends with cares enough or pays any special attention to what i wear. Even if it's something unusual, a ring or a necklace is so minuscule likelihood is nobody is going to ask.

Although Taxidermy is the best way to keep property of someone, still, as you said, quite hard to keep the bone structure, especially the face. Aaaa, eerily interesting though.

if you’re suddenly interested in the topic, i highly recommend that you watch ask a mortician’s video on it. she gives the practical reason why human taxidermy is a no-no. in short, it looks really, really bad because it’s just straight up skin and there’s nothing to patch it up, like fur or feathers.
