To call something a *feminist failure* is redundant
Idk man Ripley from Alien could be considered a feminist character and she was a success. It’s just nowadays female characters are always made so abrasive and imposing and unlikeable to prove that they’re not weak. They’re trying to larp as men without any of the actual ancient virtues of men that combine with raw strength of character to make a virtuous person. Toddlers have immense strength of character but absolutely nobody wants to be like them because they lack the inherited wisdom of how to use and display that strength (unlike stereotypical modern women)
@@PinkBroBlueRope Ripley had nothing to do with Feminism. Ripley was originally written to me a male then decently adapted to be female.
That 'Feminist' BS is a Post Hoc load of bovine faecal matter.
No, it is not. Sure, everything feminist, is a failure. But not everything that is a failure, is feminist.
This is far from over. We are winning, but we must not fall into complacency or forgive the ones who caused this.
That's my biggest concern more than if we'll make it through this or what it's gonna cost to do so but actually staying on the ball and not letting this evil slink back into the shadows to mutate another strain and reinfect civilization in a generation or 2 like it keeps doing. Between people being so eager for this to be over they're just letting the gains become normalized rather than continue the fight and the general tendency of people to puss out when it comes to actually doing what it takes to stop evil that's the most likely point of failure here. The tides turning is seemingly inevitable but I don't want another repeat episode of this in another 20 years nor do I want people to just accept the new hellish paradigm as normal or acceptable. Evil must be destroyed, not negotiated with, not pitied, DESTROYED!
We gotta keep fighting the good fight for good quality, long lasting stories.
complacency is the enemy. Always be watchful
It'll most likely only end when a super giant of the woke industry utterly collapses, showing blatantly how going woke results in the destruction of profit and the eventual collapse of one's business.
A company like Disney, is the most likely needed one to fall, to really push the message hard enough that other companies stop feeling so invincible to the point where they can so openly antagonize their consumers and audience the way that Disney does.
Disney needs to completely collapse, be bought out, cease to exist as an entity, for any kind of real victory to be achieved.
If Disney recovers....they'll just go right back to it, and other companies will again feel invincible with antagonizing their audiences
Exactly! I’ve always said that it could take 10+ years before we start seeing results. Things are happening much faster than I had anticipated but we are far from victorious.
No it’s not over yet, we may see less of it in movies and tv shows going forward but the video game industry is ripe for them to continue slipping in their garbage into our entertainment.
For every RoboCop: Rogue City, there’s a Spider-Man and Alan Wake 2 around the corner.
How bad is Alan Wake 2?
@@Mate397 I haven’t played it myself but from what I’ve heard from fans of the first game, they race-swapped a very important character in the OG that was an Norwegian woman into a stereotypical Black woman who is completely unlikable and she’s essentially the main character of the sequel. The only time you actually have fun is when you get to control Alan himself, which only happens in certain instances of the game and not that often.
@@RogueFox2185 Alan Wake wasn't even good.
@@RogueFox2185You are correct. I watched some if CJUs playthrough and looked up the race swap deal to confirm. Its woke as fuq. They make the blk female out as some super investor and her white male partners dialogue is him putting himself down and most of the time. Stuff about hum being old and washed up. How he was never as good as the women even in his prime, etc.
No.
There's no reason for it to stop.
The bar was simply lowered in terms of quality in so many areas.
The best, the *BEST* we can hope for is a handful of AAA games not being *quite* as crap as what we're getting today - but still being far below any of the classics etc etc.
(This applies to television and film as well)
We need James Cameron.
@@Niyucuatro
True, Cameron gave us Aliens & T1 & T2 and... The Boat Iceberg Love Story...
And Abyss, which was passable.
And True Lies, which was pretty good...
What do all of these have in common?
This was work 30+ years ago.
More recently...
James Cameron also gave us Terminator: Dark Fate
James Cameron gave us Avatar(s) - which are CG spectacles.
I am not pinning *any* of my hopes on him.
@@TheMaleRei South park reference about the bar being low.
"James Cameron doesn't do what

James Cameron does what

-James Cameron.
@@Niyucuatro
Ah.
I haven't watched whole episodes of South Park in a decade at least.
Aside from random clips, I'm pretty lost on SP lore.
The best outcome of the wokepocalypse is that "The AAA Games Industry" burns down entirely as a concept and videogaming returns to being a boutique industry for enthusiasts made by small focused companies and Nintendo. You know... like every other other videogaming era that isn't the last decade.
I doubt it is. It's going to take a really long time till it is fully gone
A regime change and turning America into an absolute monarchy Is only solution.
Money talks
@@momqabtAmericans don't need a president they need a king.
This nonsense will never be fully gone. It will recede for a while until people forget about it and start asking if it was really all that bad and then it will return with a new coat of paint and a brand new marketing strategy. We thought communism was dead after the fall of the Soviet Union and we were woefully wrong. Wherever it can find a dark corner to hide in, all forms of totalitarianism will fester, regroup and return. It is an incurable cancer that will forever stain the human intellect.
Rather than being just the end of garbage, it's gonna be the end of UNREGULATED garbage, Arch. We're returning to the point to offer products because of demand and reputation...meritocracy is back. HOWEVER, this is far from over; this is going to start to roll back slowly, instead on how quickly it was ditched before because "muh prugruss".
The important thing here is to get back the quality control that is much needed with proper offer/demand of products back.
this doesn't mean to relax but to stay vigilant. at least it mean we can enjoy our hobbies again (soon)
That trope of The Simpsons predicting bad companies going bust and stripping the copper wires from the walls to make a profit.
I think people tend to underestimate the stubbornness of an idealogue. Even if they have to drive the proverbial car off the cliff themselves they won't change, they'll completely bankrupt Disney before they even consider admitting they're trash people with trash ideas.
Arch, don't forget that the cinema's take a 50-60% cut of those gross earnings, to correct you here at 6:54 A $250m production + $100m in marketing film will need to gross roughly $750m just to break even!
The movie studios take 80-100% of a film's profits in the first two weeks.
@@willchurch8376It really depends on the company who made the movie.
From what I understand, Disney has been the worst one for the theaters as they strong armed 70/30 split, but as the films made billion each, that was profitable even then. Any other company gets 50/50 deal.
I saw a saying from Brian Eno online that read:
Future TV will be made with; simple equipment, unqualified people, small budgets, and bad taste,
Adjust your set as much as you like.
Tik tok Chinese propaganda machine goes brrrrrt
Don't know if they CAN see the lesson with 5 nights. Remember how Joker also had absurd success for it's budget ? Haven't seen any Joker lookalike since then.
Schlock has always existed, it will always exist. Only difference is schlock of today is not even entertaining.
Very true, I was basically raised on a fairly broad diet of 70s, 80s and to some extent 90s rubbish television shows. But they were worth watching because for starters they did put in an effort to have some kind of appeal, the market was extremely vicious in that the riff-raff never got to a pilot ep and the budget was low enough that only hard nose professionals would take that risk of putting stuff out there. They knew they had to get that cash for their backers, so if that meant wobbly props, cheesy actors and wobblier actresses- they're going to go for that hard sell and the audience was probably going to find something people are going to like.
Now, there's some big cash flowing and the demand is high. It sort of seems that they'll hire anyone who fell out of art school and managed not to land too hard on their head to be completely brain damaged. But the problem with the high demand, high output just means there's really not a lot of that hard-arse competition keeping the un-entertaining trash out of the system because they just need hours to fill, have a budget an if anything entertaining falls out the other end. Well its mostly just serendipity or blind luck
@@krissteel4074 That and there's a metric uckton of overqualified but undertalented wannabe artists that society just has no use for but because they all come from money they get put in charge of stuff anyway. Used to be those types got somewhat filtered by the ruthlessness of the market but the market is too captured to do that anymore and there's just so damned many of them because everyone wants to be an artist, way too many to be integrated into society even if the market was still free so they stick around like a bad rash.
Also Schlock back then was sort of thrown into an obscure corner, today it is MAINSTREAM
No it wasn't, you're fooling yourself. Schlock was right up there with all the other stuff. In today's world, the schlock of yesteryear hasn't stood the test of time, so you don't see it around as often as you would the cream. But back then, it was right alongside Andy Griffith and I Love Lucy.@@Marinealver
It's also being pushed into our faces constantly.
Boy I really wish it was. I wish it was as much as I wish it never happened.
Says who. If they can slip the leftism in Spiderman and Spiderman 2 without anyone batting an eye, we're still in the same position we have been for the past few decades.
"B-but muh game is g-good." STFU.
And as EA Sports has demonstrated, they can remove features from year to year, continue to charge the same or more, and *Normies WILL BUY IT* because -
Because that's one of the things that makes a Normie a Normie.
Synthetic Man is my go-to reviewer and he said it's garbage.
I have given up on watching anything from Hollywood, and buying any games from "AAA" studios that aren't named FROMSOFT.
Plus, I still have a backlog of movies, TV shows, games, and books that could last me YEARS before I ever look for anything new. I am not worried.
Hear hear. I'm in the exact same position.
Only sensible position.
Seriously! Hollywood made itself obsolete by flooding the market with a few LIFETIMES of entertainment, I don't need anything new especially when it's all woke garbage
The only issue is getting old stuff to work, I spent an afternoon trying to get killzone 1 on a PC PS2 emulator to work and while it does, it's pretty rough
I wish buying a PS2 or PS3 would be the best option but modern TVs don't have AVI ports anymore
Still better than consuming next product from people who hate us
@@PodreyJenkin138 Use coax instead of AV
Yup, only way to do it. But too many people are still naive to trust certain brands.
There's over three hundred plus years of entertainment worth of material in America alone, not to mention thousands of years of European literature, art and music available at our fingertips. Most in the public domain, far more than can be consumed in our lifetimes. They can keep being unsellable. There's always another option.
A man of Wagner I presume?
i have a few real arcade cabs and each is modded with 1000s of roms each, literally a life time supply of gaming not inc the tons of retro shit i got on the shelves
if they make cucked shit anymore i wont buy ps6 and onward ill stick with the 1000s of arcade games i never even heard of
No better time for emulating that PS1 library. I saw a video on Vagrant Story yesterday, and think I’ll be adding it to my collection, right next to Ape Escape and Final Fantasy Tactics.
Let's turn some of those into proper fan projects a la Five Nights at Freddy's.
@@Darek_B52 I mean, we could always create an indie studio that adapts Wagner while filling the blanks with material from the Edda or Grimms Tales. Have a team of 5 to 20 people work on it as a side-job or hobby, and when the product is finished and is getting sold, we split the money among the team. Modders do that all the time. So if the enegry some modders put into making mods was redirected to make a proper game this way, games could be released by small, passionate teams in the scope and quality they want them to be.
0:22..."A complete blabbering, blubbering buffoon" No worries dude, Biden has the market cornered when it comes to that!
This is going to take decades to really turn around and I'm not just talking about entertainment. We're in for the long haul folks.
Sadly beloved franchises burned to ground to get this point. Hopefully with what we've learned, new ip's can rise up and be properly protected from annoying idealogues.
The winds of change are certainly blowing in our favor. However, as mentioned several times before, corporations are slow to change course. It'll be a couple of years before things finally settle.
Also Arch don't forget Disney only gets half of the income the rest goes to the theater. So this movie needs to make a lot more money to break even even if it hits 220 or 250 million it's still in the hole
it depends on the teater and the time the movie runs.
The studio normaly gets alot fo the profiths in the 1st week, afther that its prety comon for the teatre to get all of the profit.

They get 80-100% of the profits for the first two weeks, then it slides down to something more fair.
the age of garbage is over, that age of purifying has begun, there will still be alot of garbage but there will also be alot of garbage fires
FNAF wasn't the only movie to succeed this way, remember that (the) Joker was the most profitable movie ever despite the entire media trying to demonize it as an _incel flick_
I can see both Capcom and Konami gleefully selling off the movie rights to their dormant back catalogs. And without proper oversight(like Nintendo had to do) Hollywood will do their normal, take existing failed script and filling that video game skin suit with it.
Capcom's already at it. Haven't heard much good from the latest Resident Evil movies, and Monster Hunter had yet another Milla Jovovich is the bestest ever flick inficted upon it.
Were you born a few weeks ago? Look at video game movies in the 1990s, particularly the offerings of Uwe Boll. Video game movies have always been a halfassed thing. Every once in awhile you'd get a really good one, but if you think we ever got more good than bad, you're either too young to remember or letting nostalgia color your memory.
@@willchurch8376 Aside from resident evil and tomb raider, most video game movies were a one and done train wreck.
Very similar to how most of the early comic book films were the same.
I'm young enough to remember Mario Brothers (the live action, not the recent animation), Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. I was already an adult when the flicks you mention came out. Now, I will say this though. As fucking bizarro as Mario Brothers was, or trash as Steel ended up being, they're still more watchable today than say...the Marvels. When you watch Steel, you can see that they had a budget that wouldn't have been able to pay for a special effect more elaborate than a high school play. Marvels had something like 200 million dollars? You could make ten Steels, split the left over money with me, and we'd both have more money than either of us is likely to make in our lifetimes. It's absolutely shameful that they lit that amount of money on fire.@@xerokitsune
No, or at least not yet. The age is ending, but won't be over until more talented people return or enter into the industry and start producing actual good stuff.
Why is "Customers like it when you give them what they want" considered so mindblowing of an idea that companies actually strive to do the opposite at every turn to purposely spite the customers they openly hate.
The "real customer" has always been the trader on Wall Street.
Venture Capitalists have basically usurped the role of the consumer in the relationship hence how ESG even got started to begin with, that's how. Also corporate yuppie managerial types are pathologically incompetant, arrogant, and spiteful. Hence why they take the wrong lesson from a situation every single time without exception. This remains the same globally even because corporate culture is that overpowering and damaging. It's the cultural equivalent of a prion disease; society eats it thinking it's protein (GDP number go up) and it rots the brain from the inside out (destroys basically everything else, art, culture, social cohesion, general freedom, class mobility etc.)
The customers consume the garbage anyway. So what incentive do companies have to do better?
Is the Age of Strife at an End?
It has only begun.
It’s the same thing when any layman realizes s/he can produce better work far cheaper than the guild protected workers…it’s a lot of digging through labor relations of a few thousand years, but the end state is predictable and inevitable.
We can hope
Netflix had a lot of good shows this year, they still have a lot of woke elements to them but the enfasis was in make it them good stories first.
It will never fully be over and we must stay vigilant to make our voices heard and keep the studios from becoming complacent
Is it over? No.
If we are lucky we have witnessed the high water mark.
But, even if that is true, the high tide of sewerage is still here, it has not yet receeded.
About FNAF being the first fan movie in a long time. I think Mario and Sonic can take that title.
Check back in about five years, then time of death might be able to be called.
You joke about how fast they're going to shove out Avatar, but let's be honest, we don't really know what sort of AI-assisted tools they have. Things are advancing rapidly.
I find myself liking the "let's hope" and "not yet" comments too much.
I'd say tho that the pendulum is so high and money is ending, so the corpos might just one day decide to do a complete 180 in an attempt to find the mon-mons again and suddenly over a night we live in a woke-intolerant world with anti-anti-racism. This is supposed to be a over-exaggeration though.
Let's hope it won't be the very worst case scenario, because of course it won't be, right?..
The ratcheting has honestly gone on for soo insanely long that even a massive overcorrection would be preferrable and a net gain at this point. There's literally no actual conservatism at all in media or even in political parties with any degree of power or relevance because the OW has been dragged that far into the extreme end of the left that any backlash is going to look extreme even if it really isn't and ultimately we can't keep this repressive tolerance paradigm anymore, no matter what the alternative. Having two extremes fighting each other is better than one extreme bending a weakened and feckless controlled opposition over a barrel with nothing to keep it in check.
Call of duty modern warfare movie, calling it now
i don't need to watch the video to know the answer is no garbage entertainment will never go away because even when some good things were coming out there was a lot of bad shows before you found that one good show and it was the same with games, manga, comics, movies and plays. less bad things is always something to look forwards to however bad things will still exist
If Netflix were smart they would go like 'most things that came out past 2010 were quite shit. So why not scrap all that and just buy licenses for the great movies and shows that came before?' I would pay for that. Well I am. This is how I use Netflix and I am very very happy with what I am getting.
Not just streaming, Arch, high definition streaming. Netflix kicked off during the extremely brief Blu-ray/HD DVD format war-tldr Hollywood studios decided that rather than settling with Toshiba or Sony behind the scenes, they were going to let the consumers decide, but the average person wasn’t going to drop a cool grand for DVD players when Netflix offered HD live-streaming with their membership. While eventually Blu-Ray came out on top, the studios saw how much money Netflix pulled in and decided they were striking out with their own streaming platform. And we see how well that’s going.
Give it 5 years for realignment 😅
No…Yes…it’s hard to describe. But I’m hopeful.
I have learned to find new ways to entertai myself. Fanfics, old movies, old books, old games. i can enjoy it all and i don't need anything new to be entertained.
Modern media has lost. Their lost is innevitable, and they are trying to don't die.
Well to me this should have been the strategy that Netflix and the other streamers should have gone with. Quality over quantity. Have a hand full of shows come out a year but make them such a big deal that you effectively make them an event. You have people lined up in front of their TVs waiting for the minute that it drops. And I guarantee you that will happen when the new season of One Piece, Arcane, and the final season of Stranger things. This is something HBO perfected back in the cable days. But instead they and everyone else decided to go with the minigun approach. Fire off 20 shows a month, each with budgets in the hundreds of millions, and pray that 2 or 3 stick. As we can see this strategy has been a disaster. And all of the streamers have been guilty of this. 2022 I think was the breaking point because the list of shows that came out that year should be considered a war crime. Since Netflix is still technically king of the streaming mountain I hope that if they shift to quality the others will follow. There will still be some woke stragglers but I feel that One Piece might be the strategy going forward. At least I hope.
Since the staff/management that caused all of this will stay. The most likely outcome is the following.
New Companys/Studios/Entities will appear. That will produce better Products. With some/huge success.
This will lead the big dogs to follow them. Because they also want to make big money.
The current staff will leave or will be fired. Years later we will get better Products from them too.
We are currently in the Phase where new Studios/Entities have to start working. (For example Schneewitchen)
Of course AI can accelerate this development drastically.
My gut says "nuooo".
Do anybody remember Chronicle? 2012 superhero movie taked from a point of one character camera?
Cheap and well executed. Why cant Netflix manage to replicate same formula to made films without expensive SGI and use more on film tricks they use before.
Not quite yet. A few more years of suffering are still in the way.
Even if The Marvels doubles it's current box office it won't even come close to breaking even. Keep in mind that theaters take on average about 50% of ticket sales, and you also have to take into account marketing costs. The general rule of thumb, as far as I can remember, is that a film needs to make roughly 2.5 times its budget in order to break even.
If The Marvels had a roughly $200 million budget, it's gonna need to make around $500 million in order to break even. Even if it SOMEHOW manages to reach that half a billion dollar mark, there's no way in hell they're going to make any substantial profit by that point.
I hope so.
Every time they fail they say it was something else.
I wish, but no. The bigger a company is, the longer it takes to maneuver. Optimistic scenario: we're in for at least 3 more years of ESG propaganda from almost every single AAA company, gaming or otherwise. Even if it's gone, however, AAA games will still be dumpster fires due to MTX costing more than games themselves, the MVP (minimum viable product) principle, paying real money to access content at random (gachas, loot boxes, etc.), and other extreme issues that were unimaginable just 15 years ago and have consistently only gotten worse, not better, over the years.
Dont give me hope.
Is The Age Of Garbage Entertainment Over? No. Next question.....
I just realized Hyenas might have been a success if it was actually a functional game. After all, you got to shoot transformers. That's gotta have some appeal.
Next from whatever company made it, Avatar 10, straight to the discount DVD bin at Wal Mart.
When Henry Cavill (Co-Producer, Staring) and Zac Snyder (Director, Co-Producer) team up for the Horus Heresy series on Amazon sh!ts gonna get FIRE!! (It will be the star wars of our generation)... Zac Snyder did say he can't wait to work with Henry Cavill again :)
Think this is even close to being over?
I introduce the teen aged all female Avengers.
Arch... They already planned out and filmed the Avatar movies. That is why they took so long. They wanted to do it all in one go and release over time. All they need to do CGI now.
Oh...joy..
One swallow doesn't make a Summer, as the old saying goes.
I would not be too optimistic this early - I'd hate to look like yet another marathon runner celebrating before crossing the finish line only to be overtaken on last step.
There was some shakeup, some small shift, but it is not that much if I'm being honest. It is nothing in comparison to damage already done.
It wont end so long as we cling to crappy gachas. Barely anyone ever seems to talk about how those "games" are just as monetarily greedy as our western AAA garbage. But you put a pair of shiny balloons in everyone's' faces, and suddenly the grey matter just leaves their head entirely...
Can’t even have a TV show
I think there's still a fair bit away. The Age of Rust is going away any time soon.

Good to know that Disney will be losing money until at least 2031.
I think your putting the cart before the Gronx their inquisitor.
i wish but i don't think it is sadly
Avatar 4 and 5 2 years apart is not unreasonable IMO, same as Avatar 3 planned 3 years after Avatar 2 - I have heard they filmed both of those movies at the same time so when Avatar 2 hit theatres, a lot of work was already done on Avatar 3. I expect 4 and 5 will have joined production as well.
Give it a couple of more years. The beast is wounded, but not dead
Moana live action? Disney run out of 2D classic and has entered their 3D age. At this rate, in 5 years Disney will start to make remake of their remakes.
When do we get the live action ratatouille movie?
Lets see when they abuse "Brave" next.
They won't give up so easily.
There was never an age of garbage entertainment, there was only an age of people choosing to watch garbage while ignoring quality
When was that age? Forever? Because I don't remember a time when this wasn't the case. My cartoons growing up in the 80s were basically animated toy commercials. Back then, Disney was actually the quality brand, and you can literally see the difference if you look at one of their animated films vs anything that came out from someone else the same year. When my parents were kids, there were so many trash Westerns either as shows or movies; you had to be discerning about what you picked up, you couldn't just grab something from the genre and assume it would be good. In the 80s and into the 90s, I watched every single film starring Arnie, JCVD and Dolph. You don't think that approach ever burned me?
The only difference now is that the modern day 'western' is 'nerd entertainment'.
Do not trust to hope. It has forsaken these lands
I'm sure Disney will eventually realize why making a bonfire out of money isn't profitable.
I first saw Sargon from a Moana deep dive on drinker's channel.
Neet will watch
It's over for me. I'm gonna consume media like it's 1295.
Ahh orks!
Let’s bring back Uwe Bowel. He can kill another movie adaptation franchise.
This is insane, people that went to school for management skills have potentially fumbled the bag so hard, ate going to cost these companies even more millions of dollars.
Managerial types are pathologically incompetant parasites and always have been.
oh you think disney will still be here in 10 years? thats dystopian
In parts of the world, it *is* a Dystopia...
It's certainly making (and has made serious) inroads in the West, make no mistake.
Even with those long movie development times those scripts can be rewritten. I've watched a few movie back story documentaries where the finished film and the initial script had only a passing similarity to each other. It might be possible for some of this oncoming garbage wave to be fixed. Ghost Busters Answer the Call was initially planned to as a third instalment of the original series before being hijacked and rewritten into a toxic woke failure. Everyone had to wait for GB Afterlife to get the movie we wanted.
Wait until AI takes over. When teenagers can simply narrate a description and the AI create a CZcams video, then you 'll see a flood of garbage like you have never seen before.
The ArchCast Use Black Girl Magic!
No, I'd not even consider it being in the period of anything other than taking a breath for a new scream of ism's, lot of companies and franchises are getting the modern makeover regardless of the cost.
Social disunity is the name of the game.
11:53 Batman?
Its not over while those who first made it are still in their places
No. HOWEVER! There are more ppl inspired to make good honestly/sincere content. I count myself among that (if I'm good or not is still to be tested) but I think we'll see good content coming up as older/bigger content continues to rot away.
Hail The Iron Age
best case, we have 5 more years of almost nothing but garbage. realistically, 8-10 years.
Nowhere near over.
After the rest of us have been watching Amber Heard do what she likes to do sing something that's even close to what we expected from a franchise we love should at least expect a positive result I'm not saying by any means the show is perfect but it's a God damn sight better than anything Disney has done in close to a bloody decade
There always must be garbage. Nature hates the void.
....beezlebub lives there. His female form is Gaia
If you want good games or good movies or good television, the west does make some good stuff nowadays, but the majority of it is coming from overseas mainly Asia
No.
And now to watch video
I still can't wrap my head around how NETFLIX was able to make a good/enjoyable One Piece live action.
Someone needs to whisper in Mel Gibson's ear that the God Emperor of Mankind is an allegory for Jesus and have him make a R rated 40K live action movie.
I'll believe it when I see it. Not happening any time soon. It will happen though.
The Garbage is hardly started.....
Please don't let them ruin Moana.
