this Episode Josh and Aaron are set out to decrease heat in the intake manifold of Josh's alloytec, by fitting insulator spacer's along with painting intake manifold and a custom made cold air intake...
Make sure to stick around to the end for Josh's dancing tip's.
This year Josh and Aaron are set out to restore there cars (Vz Utes V6 alloytec and 5.7 LS1) to a factory and original state, aswell as improving some components to keep there cars up to date with the brand new cars of today.
The Ozmods crew have had a passion for cars ever since they owned there first cars, and since then they have ventured into many different car scene's such as JDM, Fords, Holdens, TRD's even Diahatsu's doing all sort's of crazy and most wack aftermarket modifications even home made mod's... So check it out and tell the guys what you think of there show. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I did those spacers some time last year and you can deffs see a difference in the temp and also being able to hold your hand on the manifold without burning urself.
The oil air pod breather on the drivers side crank case. How did you manage to install this one????? And how you delete the other breather lines that run of it?
I’m doing the spacers, would it be a good idea to use the goo between the manifold and spacers and use a metal rubber o ring style gasket between the spacers and intake for future removal to change coils or plugs?
That way you wouldn’t have to scrape off gasket goo.
Did you notice a increase in power or torque?
Did you get any temperature measurements before and after?
can u guys make a video about how to replace TX velave on vz comm. thanks
I got the 25mm spacer do i have to cut the bonnet on a vz excutive 2005?
What kind of paint is that? I've got ceramic type of paint but it does it repell the heat? I have an OTR cai and can you please tell me what is the best way to insulate from heat! VX Commodore ecotec? Any reply appreciated cheers!
"all the power" haha you guys should dyno it to see how much gain
How hard is it to get the plenum off now you've glued it to the motor
Can you now lift coil packs out with taking manifold off after spacers put on
I wish someone answered this too mate! That would be worth it just for that!
And if it hasn't been done for a while or if your Alloytec is due for a service, while the air manifold is off, replace the spark plugs. :)
Why would you use 'goo' instead of 2 Gasket Sets??
Looking like James Belushi there.
Wot gains did u get
What is all the blue wrapping around the wires? Could you please do a video on all your engine modifications for the alloytech, i think many people would benefit from it.
It's just blue tape instead of the plastic shields and black tape. .
It might be a little late but what are the things called that the breather hose plugs into on the intake manifold just got a car that dosent have them and can’t find them for the life of me
where do you buy that blue tube for the air intake
Looking sweet mate hows pod n spaces feel das it give the alloytec more bottom end ?
could yous make a video on the homemade cai?
Second this
Nice filming and Video production!!
Why glue the manifold to the insulators? What if you have to take it off again?
Use a scraper" I doubt it is as sticky as silastic is, - more of a flexible liquid form a gasket to ensure an airtight seal.
I've got the 25mm spacers on my SV6 had them for two years , plus the Mace CAI , good easy mods , and a big drop in intake temperatures as well , and laughed at the Chevrolet badge reference , why do people do that .
so you have a 25mm intake spacers on your vz alloytec?
yep
well im gunna have to go 25mm spacers then lol
Here in the U.S. people put holden badges on stuff.
Reckon you should have painted go fast stripes on the intake.
what are the mini pod filter to at the back of the manifold on each side to ?
They are there for crankcase ventilation.
can yous add a video on how you did that cheers and good work
Hi. What size are the oil breathers? Cheers Lads
@@Ozmods did u wait the full 24hrs after installing the insulators
hey mate got a vz alloytec myself are these insulators worth the money? much difference at all?
Loadedchamberrecords I've done it to my VZ. It doesn't make a huge difference but the motor feels torqier down low.
Loadedchamberrecords They wouldn't really add power, they just keep the air intake temperatures lower. More of a power consistency mod.
There's definitely a horsepower bump down low. It jumps harder off the line.
Lower intake temps mean more hp anyway.
By adding the spacers you increase the runners over all length.
Longer runners = more torque.
Shorter runners = more RPM.
very great video thanks y’all! it took me a while to find since it’s 2021 now...
Bull dike lol, looks like your street cred just went up another level josh , keep up the good work guys
I subed, you lads should do random mods for subscribers to show some more variety just a thought
So changing the plugs will be "interesting" now with the blue glue on there? What did you notice after driving for a while with the spacers on there? More kilometres per litre? Power curve shift from standard toward more high end power? Or nothing? Lol
what performance do ya get out of the spacers ? is it worth it ?
It's very hard to say if we gained any performance for sure, but there was a substantial temperature drop in the manifold which could definitely lead to colder air induction hence more performance. Hard to say how much performance. but we definitely think they give some sort of increase.
Thanx
@@Ozmods hey guys, just wondering wether 25mm spacers would fit along with a cpr6 intake manifold, without having the bonnet to not shut, thanks guys. 🤙🏽
@@Ozmods how'd u clean surface area b4 putting gasket gu on my first attempt had air leaking
ummm, you guys forgot to put the MAF back in......
unless these are MAP based engines ?
The maf is still installed it is bolted straight to the intake box,
Look u would definitely gain power from painting it cause it would keep the heat down but u loose power in these aloytech v6s if u put high flow/ cold air intake u gotta tune them to suit it I find that rediculouse but anyway.
Isn't that what the maf sensor does bud ?
@@evilMaddogg86 there wasn't one in it I don't think
Sub. from me boys-
What a butcher
why would you spend money on a shitty alloytec
they are a shit motor 3.8 l67 are the best holden motor made
You mean General Motors ?
waste of time and money on a v6
Costs around $150, not much for a bit more consistency.
