I’m glad you’re liking it! I’ve been loving the X-T50 ever since I got it last month, and everything you mentioned I agree with. However, I really like the film simulation dial, and I’ve been using it a whole lot. It really is a great camera. Definitely worth the price of admission.
I have the x t50 with the 30mm 2.8 micro lens and new 16 to 50 f2.8 as my set up for digital. Absolutely love this camera

Glad you gave this camera a shot. I've had the X-T5 since release date. Because of it's size and weight, I never took it out. I found that I really loved the X-T5 sensor, so I ended up buying the X-T50. First off, I really do love the size, and ergonomics. It has the same sensor as the X-T5, which is awesome for photos. The film dial is honestly really nice because I can switch between different color styles. I never used the ISO dial because all Fujifilm recipes have auto ISO added and it worked well. The best part is that it's so small that I can take it out without feeling like i'm lugging a huge camera with me. I use it more often than my X-T5, which I'll be selling and keeping just the X-T50.

Massive difference.
In one case you can take camera with you everywhere / every time. In the other case the camera most probably will stay home most of the time.
While most people complain how xt50 is so overpriced and doesn’t make any sense, I can say that in Size/Price/Quality department there is nothing on the market that can touch this Fuji… I just wish it was weather-sealed, but it is what it is.
I got the xt50 a few weeks ago, it is very light and compact, and when paired with a pancake lens it is perfect for travel.
I’m truly in love with the voigtlander 40mm 1.2 with my zf. Now if they had an equivalent for Fuji with that camera it would be pretty impressive.
There is! The Viltrox 27 mm 1.2. I have it and can highly recommend it
@@clementc7297 not remotely the same in my opinion for me at least. It’s huge! I love the compactness of it for a 1.2 lens. And rendering is completely different at 1.2. It doesn’t give that special something the voigtlander does at 1.2 to 1.8.
@@WhoIsSerafin agree. I just checked how it would compare in terms of weight. Like Nikon z6 + 40 and x-t50 and 27. The APSC system has 50g more. The pop of the 40 is hard to beat
ok i jusr subscribed 😁i got the x-t50 even after seeing reviews seemingly trying to gaslight me out of getting one and i love my charcoal gray after being team silver for my old x-t20 and x100v. i never really used the drive dial and i am one of the few who actually like having the film sim dial as the film simulations are what i use the most. i have small hands and the size and weight are perfect for me.
My use case is different to yours, but I appreciate the 4:3 in camera crop as I need to instantly print jpegs to 8" x 6" instant printer and frame during events
the X-T5 lets us tether but is not a big deal to quickly drop a SD card out copy jpegs across and print.
I still use an X-T3 as well in the studio (and an X100 VI) as 26MP is more than enough, and focus is fine, but the X100 VI is just special.
If one of the X-T3 cameras died (we have 1 X-T5 and 2 X-T3s in our company) and we needed another camera, we'd probably get an X-T50 over another X-T5, knowing image quality is the same, and we have the X-T5 when we need weather sealing or the dual card slots or to tether photos

I have had the x-t50 for the last month. So far I love it. I only with they had the screen move like the x-t5. Otherwise it is perfect for my needs. Heavy photography and light video use. I have a vanilla recipe on C7 and I like pairing the film dial with this custom setting.

I've got it to pair with my X-H2. The X-H2 for big and fast lenses and gmre difficult shooting conditions (I ive by rhe sea), X-T50 with the 27mm pancake, the 12mm Zeiss, and probably soon the 56mm 1.4 Sigma. A perfect tool for street and daily use. Same sensor for the 2 cameras, so same workflow, same print possibilities. Homegeneous IQ with the two cameras. Just perfect. With the pancake, the Zeiss and the future 56mm sigma it will fit in a small shoulder leather anonymous camera bag. Fuji did great!

I agree with you, it's a wonderful camera. I have the fuji XH2s and XH2 for sport/wild life/portraits photos and videos and I use the XH2 as my street camera but it's a bit too bigger. So the XT 50 seems perfect. Thanks for all your video. As a french man, I love your english accent 👍😜

What’s the auto focus like compared with the X-T5?
I find it a little bit better than x-t5 but need to test it more. Is at least as good as x-t5 with the latest firmware.

Well there's no plastic on Leica camera, not sure what road Fuji is taking. I see lots of recent Fuji camera like the XT5 with many many paints chips, black or silver finish. makes me really worry about the quality. None of my old Fuji gears have ANY paint chips. (XE3, XH1, XT3) I would really like a Durablack finish now.

Wow this might be the big upgrade after my Olympus Em10 Mark IV.. the same size, only a little bit heavier. There's no Olympus 14-150mm equivalent Fuji lens though :(
There is an 18-135 that isn't too big. It is older but I enjoy it. It is my birding lens.
How do switch from photo to video? Do you have to go into menu?
You have the drive button on right - click and joystick up and you are in video. It's very easy and intuitive.
Film simulation switch is a waste. I use Vivid on my Fujis and rarely change so that switch on the left is useless.
Where is the hotshoe cover if it’s fresh out of the box???

Any issues with the soft release shutter button on your Fuji cameras yet? I read it can damage the camera's shutter button..
In my opinion it's a myth of Internet. I have no problems and I'm using them for a long time.

Actually I guess theory is that with the increased leverage due to the lenght of the rod, a "border side push" could damage the mecanism if there is lots of "play". But we're not in 1960 USSR 😂 Nowadays assembly is super tight and build quality top notch, there's absolutely nothing to fear, evenmore with Fuji.
The exposure on you is at least a half stop too bright.
This doesn't change the fact that autofocus on X-T5 still sucks
