  • Justin Noble takes a quick look at the Scale Model Scenery LX096-OO Concrete Hard Standing Kit which allows you to quickly and easily create areas of hardstanding with rails embedded for Engine Sheds, TMDs and more. The kit is available to suit Hornby & Peco Setrack as well as Peco Streamline and can be ordered online at www.scalemodel...
    The offers a much quicker and easier way to create realistic hard standing than using traditional methods such as Das Modelling Clay, or cutting up strips of card & plasticard.

      @@ScaleModelScenerycouk REST ASSURED Iam working on that one as soon as its ready i will set it to embed and I will drop you an email but were a couple months from that your delivery only just arrived and a few other things in the way at the moment. I hav not been in the railway/toy room for atleast a month and doubt I will get in there for another month but when that project is done you will be the first to KNOW> OF NOTE THOUGH Those newsletters weekly are SUPER but as someone who only looks at their email once a fortnight sometimes it can be overwhelming if you did MONTHLY that would be a nice way to go but I agree SOOOO MUCH content so little time LOL

    what a good kit this is, very impressive especially the extension kit, i did use card for the hardstanding area at my tmd, and it's probably a good time to change it over and use these kits

    Yes sounds ok only thing is whichever one you decide on, make sure that it operates on de-regulatef frequencies other wise you will have to purchase a license from OFCOM via JMFG who issue them on their behalf.

    Hi Justin, as a live sound engineer and modeller can I suggest you look at the sennhiser radio lapel mic and bodypack with a camera receiver pack.
    Last time I checked cost was approximately £400--600.

    A question. I've just started to build your workshop kit. The textured lining for the interior sidewall is about 3mm deeper than the card and its not clear what you do with that.

    Hi Justin. What's the best way to stop your printed concrete sheets from being shiny? Real concrete tends not to be... Ta.

    • @ScaleModelScenerycouk
      @ScaleModelScenerycouk  Před 3 lety

      A quick, very light coat of an acrylic matt lacquer will do from a spray can ideally. Halfords used to do a matt clear lacquer that worked a treat. I think they probably still do it :)

    As you said the material is 2mm thick, I assume that it is intended for Code 100 track. Perhaps one day we could have a version with parts A and D in 1.5mm thick material to suit Code 75?

    • @ScaleModelScenerycouk
      @ScaleModelScenerycouk  Před 5 lety

      Roger Hobson to be honest there’s enough clearance to work now with code 75. Neil Mason at Little Layout Company uses this with Code 75 a lot on customers layouts and hasn’t had any issues yet.
