How To Paint & Weather OO Scale Roof Tiles For Model Railway Buildings

  • In this video, Sam demonstrates a quick and easy way to paint & weather roof tiles on you model railway & model railroad buildings using some simple techniques. This technique enables you to quickly and easily paint and weather roof tiles & slates on model buildings such as the Scale Model Scenery LX228-OO Roof Slates (www.scalemodelscenery.co.uk/l...) or the tiles included with the KX057-OO Barn / Store kit (www.scalemodelscenery.co.uk/k...)
    Materials Required:
    Black Spray Paint (Matt or Gloss)
    Grey Spray Paint (Car Primer)
    White Acrylic or Enamel
    Cream Acrylic or Enamel
    Modelling Glue (Deluxe Materials Rocket Card Glue, PVA etc)
    Suitable Green Flock / Scatter to simulate moss etc.
    Medium Paint Brush
    Low-Tack Masking Tape.

    That's a great how to tutorial Sam, I'm just looking at getting some packs of slates for my scratchbuilding can't have too many flat roofs

    Awesome tutorial there Sam. First vid for your company well done. Quick Qs if I may. Could you spray the tiles first. So you don’t need to mask the building ?

      WWSCENICS I think you could , I guess I got to used to masking painting cars ! We built this kit as a prototype then decided to make the tutorial on painting the tiles

    Enjoyed that tutorial and although simple to do gives excellent results.
    On a different point I made the mistake of buying the weathered Hornby TEA wagon that is terrible and looks like a zebra !! What tips would go give to re paint it ? .......................Cheers Kev
