Yes! Super underrated group in my opinion! Also love the display picture! Had those cartoon poros as a cycling desktop background forever! Also glad the video helped :)
Hey Eric! Thanks so much for both Part 1 and Part 2, they've been really helpful in planning and visualizing my MCAT journey this summer! I was wondering, though, how did you actually go through the content review textbooks? My gut says that just passively reading through them would not be the best for absorption, so any insights from you would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Varun, you're right. Passive reading is generally not the best way to learn anything. For me, practicing the material is much more beneficial. My approach for content review is making sure I understand all the topics at least decently well so that when I practice, it won't be my first time seeing the material. Using that content review time as more of a checklist to make sure I was familiar with the material without spending too much time reading when I could have been practicing. Confusing I know, but that's because there is no perfect formula!
Hi Eric, thanks for your videos! Happy to find a Canadian share their experience. Congrats on your acceptance at McMaster. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for someone in my situation. I am a FT working individual, who is unable to not work (the struggles) as well as a student. I have no science background, I am in a non science program and would like to begin preparing for the MCAT this summer. I know I probably wont be able to structure my study during the day but would devote my evenings 4-10 on content review and studying. Do you have any tips to succeed for this?!
Hi! Thanks for the kind words :) I definitely have some tips! You can move your studying to when you have time for sure. You just want to be conscientious when your test date is and give yourself enough time to feel prepared. Don't rush it and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Take it at your own pace!
Thank you for sharing your strategies! Can u share your mistake log please! I will finish my content in two weeks! I will start uworld, section bank, and.... what is the best way to keep a log of my mistakes? flash cards, writing and saving on the notebook, ...???
Hey Roya! I just had a spreadsheet with two things for each mistake: the category of mistake (i.e. didn't read the question properly, didn't understand, etc.) and a short explanation of what I can do for next time (i.e. take more time to read the question, review a specific concept). Hope that helps! :)
Great video! Glad I ran into your video right as I’m starting MCAT prep-for a January test. Could you speak to if KA is more/less comprehensive for content review than Kaplan? I know you used Kaplan but would you recommend KA if you could only use one resource or would you stick w Kaplan? Thank you!
Thanks Arqum! I would say that if you could only use one, then Kaplan is a better bet because it is more comprehensive. The KA videos are a great supplement but I'm not convinced that they're enough by themselves. Using Kaplan with KA to supplement is still the best method in my opinion. Good luck with your prep! Looking forward to hearing about your journey :)
Hey Arqum, I wouldn't necessarily recommend transitioning at a specific score. Instead, I would create a comprehensive plan and follow through on it to completion. For me, that might look like 4 3rd party tests then AAMC FLs; for you, that might look different. Big point: create a plan you feel comfortable with and that will prepare you well :)
Hey Raiyan, I would recommend you start studying in the summer after your 2nd year (Summer 2022), the write the MCAT that same summer. Any studying you do now or during your first year probably won't be that helpful as you're likely to forget most of it. Check out my other videos to get a better sense of the timeline I used to study. Hope that helps! :)

At what score would u recommend I transition from 3rd party FL to AAMC exams?
