    Hi this is for future references about the tips (also probably a little easier to have time stamps for people to quickly look through!)
    #1 (1:41) Pay attention to the W's (who, what, where, when, why, and how)
    #2 (2:37) Compare different ideas (look for similarities and differences)
    #3 (3:45) Categorize items in a list (break them up into manageable groups)
    #4 (5:45) Infer words (use context around that word, get a feeling if it is a negative/positive word)
    #5 (6:23) Highlight key words (things like increase/decrease or agree/disagree)
    #6 (6:40) Use strikeout tool (narrow answer choices)
    Thanks for this amazing video, always found CARS to be so hard.

      @EricSun20  Před 4 lety

      Hey Josephine! Glad you found this video to be very helpful :) I would love to make more walk-through videos for the other sections! However, unlike CARS, the other sections depend a lot on the knowledge base you already have and a walk through video might be a hit-or-miss for a lot of viewers. To help as many people as possible, I'm not sure a B/B or C/P walkthrough would be in their best interest right now. This is SO HELPFUL !!! I know you said for CARS, its easier to work your way down i.e. 15 minutes to 10 minutes to 8 minutes per passage with time. But ideally on the actual exam, do you recommend spending 4 minutes reading the passage?

    • @EricSun20

      Hey again Idara and thank you for your continued support :)

    • @EricSun20
      @EricSun20  Před 4 lety +1

      Ideally, you want to spend as little time as possible reading so long as you grasp the passage to sufficiently answer the questions. Unfortunately, I can't tell you an exact number because you read differently than I do, but I found 5 minutes to be a good benchmark. You may find it better to do 4 minutes or 6 minutes, etc. but that will all come with practice! Hope that helps :)

    Hi Eric, thank you so much for the great videos! One question, when we go back to review the answer explanation, do you recommend an in-depth read, or skim through just like what you did? Many times I found the explanation so redundant and slow-to-the-point...But I forced myself to read through them carefully to try to develop the mindset, not sure if it was helpful...

    • @EricSun20
      @EricSun20  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi WL, that might depend on the source. If you're doing AAMC practice, definitely read them in depth and understand it completely. If you're doing practice for another purpose (building stamina, getting the main idea), sometimes an overly in-depth review may not be warranted.

    In my practice, the questions I typically get wrong are those that have answers that actually ARE supported with evidence in the passage but it’s not the “best” answer. How do you recommend going about that issue?

    • @EricSun20
      @EricSun20  Před 4 lety +1

      That's a really common question trap that the AAMC likes to use. Good on you for recognizing somewhere you can improve! I would emphasize choosing an answer that ANSWERS the question. Lots of choices can be factually correct or supported by the passage, but they might not actually give an answer to the question at hand. Try that and let me know how it goes Brandon! Hope that helps :)
