    This bike, in Large, has very similar numbers to my 2017 Knolly Warden in XL, but improves on my gripes for the 2017 Warden:
    1. Standover height. I am 6'2" and can only run 150mm dropped on my Warden, which is limiting...
    2. 157 Spacing, for that rear wheel stiffness (over 142) and improved chainline.
    3. Bearings and flat-mount hardware. Doing my own maintenance on the pivots has proven why this is a good thing (though the Warden still does well)
    The worst part is, as a full-27.5 bike, I could transfer most of my parts over. So it is awfully tempting.
    Much to consider...

    I'm fairly new with Knolly and I currently have the Endorphin 6.1 frame running a fox 38 170mm (overforked) fork and my rear shock is a Float X 185x55mm. It's currently at full 27.5 wheels since that's the spare I have. I'm planning to do a Mullet build and run a fox 36 160mm fork but keep my current rear shock. Will this change give it too much slack? Or will it even work?

  • @los1379
    @los1379 Před 6 měsíci +2

    Question for you- any weirdness from this set up, or maybe more to the point would the Endorphin in 160/150MX mode make a good all-'rounder in your opinion? I enjoy my v1 Fugitive (but don't ride it much) and my Chilcotin 167, but thinking I might replace the Fugitive with one of these.
    EDIT: I just got to the part where you say you could see this as an only bike.

      @biff2bart509 Před 6 měsíci +2

      Built bikes are about 32 - 34 pounds depending upon level of build kit components (higher end kits are obviously lighter) and mainly tires. Tires make a huge difference in overall weight as I think most people are aware. Also, the MX (Mullet) builds weighs a little bit more than the dual 27.5" builds simply due to the fact that the front wheel is larger in diameter..

    Bushings are better than bearings to distribute loads evenly especially good at keeping in check lateral loads while still providing compliance. It's not a cheatcode but it's way easier to manages the rear triangle lateral play with bushing.

    How long of a dropper will it fit?

    • @noelbuckley
      @noelbuckley Před 7 měsíci +3

      In X-Small frames, a 170-200mm dropper will fit depending upon rider inseam length. We have riders on X-Small Endorphins at 4'11" height (150cm) with 180mm droppers and at 5'2" (157cm) with 200mm droppers. They are also running reservoir shocks and are able to mount a regular water bottle in the front triangle.
      Bigger frame sizes only get better: for size Small frames a 200 - 210mm dropper won't be a problem for most customers and for Medium and Large, 200mm up to 240mm droppers will be good to go. The seat tubes are fully uninterrupted, so the dropper post can be slammed to the bottom of the seat tube.

    Still have my V1 Fugitive and have no plans to update. With the new frame, don't see the point of the straight downtube, unless you need the standover. 10mm higher BB is huge, especially in tech terrain. New linkage is nice too. Stack height is lower on the new frame and less reach on the largest frames is not good thing. Hope that the new large frame isn't taking the place of the old XL frame.
