    I used the deli papers with the patting, blobs and sliding on an acrylic painting of an old, rusty pickup truck sitting in a field. It worked well for areas of the field that looked too flat and boring. Thanx Sandra, for this fun and effective technique.

    Sandra's various backgrounds are timeless. She is so talented and encourages us all to be little chemist like she's showing us. Deli sheets are so much fun and so versatile. Also great for collage plus more!
    Thank you Sandra for creating these videos. Especially during this pandemic it is so wonderful to go back and watch.

    Hi Sandra - I don't understand when you use the gel medium and when you use the gloss medium (to stick the papers down onto the canvas or whatever backing you're using). Are there some rules? Thanks

    Hello Sandra, thank you very much for all your videos, they are very interesting and informative. In this video, I have a question for you. I would like to know, the right part (in shades of blue) of the canvas that you use to show us is this another video where you show us how to achieve this magnificent result? If so, could you give me the link please ? Thanks

    • @SandraDuranWilson
      @SandraDuranWilson  Před rokem

      Are you referring to the painting that is hanging behind me? If so, I don't have a video for that. If it is another piece, let me know the time signature. Thanks for watching.

    • @chantaledrew2438
      @chantaledrew2438 Před rokem

      @@SandraDuranWilson No, I'm referring about the canvas you use to do the sample but on the right side (in blues shades). Also, I have an other question for you. May I use cooking wax paper or tracing paper to press the colours over you canvas and to do a collage after because I don't have Deli paper ?

    • @SandraDuranWilson
      @SandraDuranWilson  Před rokem

      @@chantaledrew2438 That portion of the painting was using interference paints over dark or black. I may have a video on interference colors but not that particular piece. You can also check my books for working with interference colors.
      You can use the cooking parchment to move the colors but it won't adhere well later for collage. You could use the parchment paper to move the paint and then plot it onto another paper that you can then use for collage. Rice paper may work well.

    GREAT video! Thank You :). Is the deli sheet "Deli Wrap Wax Paper"? Not sure about the wax in the name?

    • @SandraDuranWilson
      @SandraDuranWilson  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you and yes the deli paper is like the wrap you get. It is a dry wax. When I buy the sheets I try to find ones that are not extra wax.

    Marvelous!!! Can this be done on 140# watercolor paper?
    would it need gesso 1st?
    Thank you so!

    • @SandraDuranWilson
      @SandraDuranWilson  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Vicki-are you going to use acrylics? I find I get the best results with gesso first, otherwise the paint soaks into the paper quickly. You could do an experiment on try one of each. Make sure your paint is very runny like cream.

    • @vickihollander6527
      @vickihollander6527 Před 4 lety

      @@SandraDuranWilson thank you so...I suspected it might need something...
      I've some old terrible watercolors...
      And if I want to keep some of a watercolor on the page and spray it with a fixative, should I also gesso on top of a fixative to then move into acrylic and medium layers?

    • @SandraDuranWilson

      Deli papers are all different. Mine usually don't have different sides. Try using the matte side, but experiment with both and see what the difference is.
