      I want to say something about feeling the results. I’ve been in and out of working out. This time around, after a month putting in more strength work than before, I can see a shift, some toning (not as tone as I want to be, but it’s happening!), but I was amazed by how I felt even more. I FEEL lighter, even though the scale says I’m heavier. I can lift, balance, and maneuver myself better than ever! I feel strong. I feel like I can run a marathon sometimes (probably not there yet, but I can manage cardio much better than before). This commenter is right. I rather be a big person who can perform acrobatics than a small person who feels sluggish. Once you keep getting better and better at just MOVING and become happier with that and keep it going, you’ll suddenly look like how you want before you know it

What do you do then to get back to the routine again? Coz honestly after a break longer than the normal break I usually have between my exercise makes me feel lazy. How to deal with this?

It's okay if you do a different sport every few weeks, if you have to rest because of your health now and then, if your workout doesn't look anything like what was planned. There is so much joy out there. Forcing yourself to go by plan isn't the only way.

You don't see the results in the mirror, but you instantly feel them inside, your feel more energized, you feel better about yourself, you feel stronger, even just a little bit, you feel good because you dedicated time to move and be healthier. I would avoid taking pictures when I was bigger... but had to take a class picture for work when I graduated the 6 month intensive training class...8 years later I had a trainee who was going through the course...she said she was going to go back to class and find my class picture and send it to me. I was both horrified/embarrassed and proud when she texted me the pic...after I finally recognized myself. 70+ lbs down...and 8 years later...I look much younger and anyone I show the pic to can't believe it. Started my journey 6 years ago... there's been ups and downs... but I kept at it. That pic inspired me to push even harder to get to the athlete inside me...I will be 45 in a couple weeks and am getting back to the physique I had 20 years ago at 25... minus some wear and tear from having an 8.5 lb. baby. That baby is 14 now and a black belt and on her high school track team...I wanted to be able to keep up. Training to do a 5K with her in a few months...wouldn't have thought it possible 10 years ago when I was in the depth of depression and a bunch of autoimmune issues brought on by an abusive marriage and an even more brutal divorce. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...and growth happens through discomfort. I was always under there... glad the real me is shining through again, stronger and wiser than ever...and it happened one day at a time. ❤

    I agree with this man. Consistency is to motivate yourself to keep exercising. I have been working out at the gym for years, and at first, I don’t see any result. Even weeks in, I still don’t see results. But I kept going, and years later, I noticed massive difference. Even if you don’t go to the gym, exercising is good for your health and peace of mind. But most people lose the motivation when they are tired, they remind themselves and promised they will go tomorrow and tomorrow come, another false promise…and this habit drags on, and eventually your mind feels comfortable of the idea not going to the gym. Consistence, motivation, and the will to want to change all plays a big role.

    The key is the motivation. When you go to the gym to impress somebody with your new look, you can easily give up after a month of training. As for me, I was tired of feeling weak. My back hurt after having two children. But I decided that I doesn’t want to be a grandma in my 30-s. So I began to workout at home 3 times a day. After a year I felt that I actually have muscles, I liked the way I looked. The size didn’t chanced (it wasn’t my goal) but the shape changes nicely)
    Sport is not only the way to meet the standards. This is a necessity for us, for our bodies to be young and strong for a longer time of our lives.

    There is a motivation speech that I keep it close to my heart. It about "keep show up" . It means so much to when I so near to give up on fitness journey. I hate working out but at my late 30s, I cant avoid it forever, something had to be done or my health gonna fall apart.

    Working out isn't just about physical stuff either. It's the difference between everything being annoying and tiring and feeling like the world has luster and everything is beautiful and fun. Honestly, I wish more people would do it for mental health.

    I have admitted to my trainer that sometimes I just do not want to be there;
    Much rather be in bed still
    and tell him that I just don’t feel like working out;
    But I have heard again and again:
    That even when you don’t feel like it just do it; soon after it’s all good;
    It’s all about consistency and commitment
    To just keep at it;
    It does take discipline, effort
    To just do it;
    And eventually the fruits of your labor will be realized.
    And have also learned to persist.

    This is true for everything. People often wonder why the best looking people look so good, and while there is a genetic aspect to this, those people who always look really good look that way in large part because they consistently take care of every aspect of their appearance. Of course most (especially celebrities) won't tell you what they actually do to keep you thinking they're just better than you by default, but the truth is they eat healthy, workout, take care of their skin and hair, etc. on a daily basis. They never go days without showering, they never leave the house in wrinkled clothes, they're always perfectly groomed everyday. Consistency.
