- SLURRY TANKER SPECIAL.
Paul & David are full of Slurry this Wednesday as they talk us through the workings of both slurry tankers. When life gives you manure, make sure to spread it!
It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it! Fair play to Darragh for getting stuck in and getting the job done. Both Slurry Tankers are ready for action again and back to the fields they go!
Kverneland plough is in the Workshop today too for a new board. David does a great job! John B has a new toy...tune in to see what it is!

Paul & David--The vanes in your vacuum pump are made of compressed linen as I recall. Those Moro pumps are very durable but still require routine maintenance. For what it's worth, here in Alberta--I've always made a practice of running approx. a litre of diesel through the oil injection inlet (with the lid screwed off) with the pump in vacuum mode at low idle until you see the diesel being blown out through the exhaust port at the end of each days work. This has a 2 pronged benefit---keeps the vanes cleaned of sludge, (preventing stuck vanes) & flushes out moisture & in our case eliminating the pump from freezing under our severe cold conditions. A few minutes work & time well spent I've found..
Thanks very much for your comment great advice there on maintaining the life of the pump 👍

Thanks for the info!
Great video lads, ye have a good set up for maintaining the machinery
Cheers Gearoid 👍
Bet David likes a pint or two of the stout !!👍👌🍻
If filling is slow sometimes on a old tanker the inner layer of the pipe above the ball can suck in leaving it normal speed spreading and slow filling and the vacuum clock will show normal. If you don’t need to open the gearbox it’s easier to fit vanes from the back after unbolting the pump from the drawbar. You can flush out a pump with 5 litres of diesel by putting it on to spread position with the back open and pto on and pour the diesel down the outside of the exhaust and it will be sucked in and deposited in the tank.
Cheers for that not the first time you fixed one 👍
